thanks for the great video. made install very easy. having said that i recommend people checking the dongle with a voltmeter before install, as i i installed and put everything back together to only find out that the dongle was bad and engine light would come on. you guys were great and sent me two replacements😁. i also recommend routing the dongle to a an accessible location in case it goes bad again. i mounted mine past the fuel tank and behind the fairing, making it very easy to replace. thanks again
On a very small amount of these bikes this happens and we can't figure out why. We use metal film resistors which are expensive but some bikes just kill them. Fortunately only a very small percentage. Either way we take care of people. Always.
These evaporative emissions canisters have been required in California for years. I've been taking them off my bikes since about 2005. To comply with this regulation in California, the manufacturers just put them on every bike they ship to the U.S. rather than build a special model that is just California compliant. They don't weigh much--about 2 to 3 pounds depending on the design. It's just the unsavory feeling of having something on your bike that the loons in California say must be there. I won't have it. Meanwhile the "dongle" is just a fancy way of sealing up the electrical connection. You could just duct tape it up if you didn't want to use the dongle. Keeping the canister or removing it doesn't add to or detract from performance, other than at some point it could clog up or something happen to it (as the video mentions, carbon/charcoal bits getting into your fuel tank). Just useless junk cluttering up your bike. Best to remove it!
@@RottweilerPerformance I'm thinking my dongle is bad for this reason. I keep getting an error code indicating a malfunction with my emissions. I assume it's the dongle but I suppose it could be something else as well. I haven't changed anything else emission related though that I'm aware of ...well besides the decat and exhaust. I purchased and installed the dongle about 3 months ago now if I remember correctly. I'll double check the connection and reseat it just in case it's making poor contact but I had an issue when I first installed it that caused me to have to check and recheck because of the error code popping up then too. I was able to get it to go away but it came back last week.
@@yurgon One way to A-B test is to just put the canister valve alone back one. If the light stays out, then it may be a bad dongle which can be possible but not common. If that's the case we can certainly send another one no charge. We back up our stuff.
@@RottweilerPerformance hello, I got a CFMOTO CLX700 sport and I’m trying to do the can delete, I’m hearing that they’re using the 790 engine but I don’t see anyone making a delet kit yet, I was wondering what resistor are you guys using in the Dongle? I’ll try to make my own.
So the only two hoses left are the two starting from the top of the fuel tank right? Water drain is on the right, fuel on the left correct? The fuel one should go straight to the floor, the water drain isnt that relevant right? Thanks
If you get lost on the lines you can always blow into them to find out which one is which. They both basically go to a safe place and the water line isn't that critical you are correct. Most just run them into the skid pan like a dirt bike.
Some riders don't like to carry around equipment they feel doesn't aid in the ride quality of the bike. It has no performance benefits other than dumping some weight and making the bike much simpler.
A few lbs and some clutter. We race a 790 Adventure so in that case every ounce is removed. In areas or situations that allow this for most customers it's the first thing they get rid of.

There is a chance, albeit unlikely that the dongle is bad, but out of tens of thousands of them made and sold we rarely hear about this, but it is something that is certainly possible. One way to check is to replace the dongle with the original canister valve itself and ride it for a while to see if the engine light goes out. If it doesn't, it's something else. If it does, then it's the dongle and just shoot us an email at info@rottweilerperformance.com or give us a call at 844-768-7373 and we will send you out a new one ASAP.
Hi Gent's, currently on lockdown here in RSA, what does the "Dongle " do? Is it just a fancy plug in "Bridge" wire? your speedy response would be much appreciated, as i am wanting to put it back together again.
About 1.5 lbs. It's not allot considering allot of other weight-saving products, but most people do it for clutter removal depending on what they are doing with the bike.
@@tontonn9995 We are currently tearing down the bike to re-prep it for the next race so we can't say but we will circle back and let you know once it's all back together. We just didn't remember to get a weight on the bike due to the last minute decision to race it and the subsequent thrash to get it ready.
To scam you. It does nothing for the environment. I bet lawnmower have 10x the impact of motercycles because everyone and their brother has a lawnmower.

All accurate except for the dongle part. They actually provide the proper resistance so you won't get a check engine light on fuel injected bikes.

Allot of people who buy a decat exhaust have no need for it anymore and they don't want superfluous stuff on their motorcycles.
