I live by the chowan river and bass fish every weekend, usually takes 20 to 28lbs to win single day tournaments here! Alot of big fish ! 7 to 9 lb lunker pot most big tournaments, all largemouth, miles and miles of tributaries including the Roanoke River recently 30 lb sack won a tournament over there five-fish limit
How long did it take you to figure it out? Your probably still learning. I lnow i am. Same on the James, been fishing it for 25 years. Learn new shit every year. It aint like they can pull up a accurate map to show em.
@@alltree78 There are some accurate maps out there just have to be willing to spend the money to buy them. Some of them will also pre-fish so it won’t be their first time being there.
25 to 30lb to win norm tournaments on the chowan 4 to five different rivers huge body of water hundreds of miles of water! Wind plays huge but you guys are going to love it!!
I fish the Chowan River a lot each season! Some heavy sacks come from there! If you like flipping,or frog fishing in the early morning...then you will have a blast
The Chowan river is part of the Albemarle Sound. It’s a phenomenal fishery. There are several rivers accessible from the Chowan River. They are the Alligator River, the Roanoke River, the Scuppernong River, the Pasquatank river, and the Perquimmans River which are all part of the Albemarle Sound
Edenton is pronounced like "eat". There are some trophy fish in the chowan river. It is one of the best kept secrets but not for long. You guys are going to love it.
Chowan river is about to be a absolute smash fest there are going to be so many big bags especially that time of the year probably might see a 30 pound bag but lots of 20
JW, Was stoked to see Eastern NC getting some love. You guys will love The Chowan and Edenton is a great town with lots of history. Best part is there are Huge fish swimming around in there and lots of them. As long as we don’t get a Hurricane that pushes a bunch of salt water up River this fall nothing should change by the time you guys get there.
Wish we can get you guys to come out west! You guys never get west of Texas or Oklahoma. We have Clearlake the Delta and so many others just in California. We buy lures, electronics and watch the tour live. I believe that coming west could show appreciation from the sponsors as well. Keep up the hard work you put in to be on top of the game.
The James is my home body of water… I will take off to get up there and meet the crew I can’t wait It would be awesome to get mlf to fish kerr lake or smith mountain lake
Being from Arkansas, I though Eufala was a giant water treatment facility when I first drove past it… if the wind is blowing(and it will be), it’ll be super muddy.
Chosen river here in nc is full of fish and snake especially when it gets hot the back waters in that black stained water is fire around the time y’all gonna be there watch out for the moccasins tho they fall out of the trees on your boat
a lot of Chowan is brackish and there are some hammers in there. You guys will be surprised they way you were surprised when you came to Falls/Jordan/Harris in 2019.
Any tournament you are in. I'll be watering all seven stages.I wish there were more tournaments for the rest of the year. I enjoy watching these tournament. Good luck in 2024 be safe out there.
The Chowan River is off the chain last couple years and so many options on water and other Rivers to run to and fish, the James thats my home River if any big event came here this one im ok with because of the catch and release aspect...looks to me to be a great schedule!
Pronounced Cho-Wan… went to college down that area . Never fished that river specifically. But glad to see y’all coming to Richmond Va!!! I’ll definitely be there
Be prepared for extremely rough weather/water conditions on Toledo Bend. January can be an extremely treacherous time to navigate this Lake. 2023 saw 7 water related deaths on Toldeo Bend. High winds, big waves and stumps everywhere. Hopefully the lake authorities have replaced all of the missing boat lane buoys by that time.
Toledo in February is going to be nuts. It’s got grass growing again finally. Several share lunkers caught this year and was taking 28+ to win every weekend for several months this spring.
Lived on the Chowan all my life. Plenty of rivers and tributaries connecting to it. Lots of Cypress trees, it is tidal and can be very brackish at times. Over the last couple of years it’s been a consistent 25-30lb bag to win tournaments. Will be very interested in how you guys each break it down and what weights you guys pull in with. Good luck this season. Looking forward to seeing y’all in my hometown.
Looking forward to Richmond because I am hoping I could possibly meet you at the event. I have been a huge fan for years and would like the opportunity to shake your hand and hopefully grab a picture. The way you carry yourself and the image you project is great for the bass fishing industry and definitely for young anglers coming up. It will also be interesting to see how you, and everyone else in the house, can respond to new challenges.
I really like the diversity of the schedule. I especially like seeing the Chowan & James River events. The Sabine River is always my favorite Elite series stop. No FFS & old school Bass Fishing on these bodies of water. I can’t wait to see how the BPT anglers figure them out!
Toledo is going to take a lot of weight that time of year. The weather holding up throughout the tournament is probably zero percent but should make it interesting.
Wheeler I’m curious how much planning goes on with the schedule coming out so early. Do you guys put together your travel & budget for the season, do you prefish or visit places you’ve never been before? And starting to work on sponsors before starting the season. I know a lot of sports don’t award sponsorships until Jan, is this different with you guys?
The schedule comes out early specifically so they can plan. I’m not fishing pro leagues, but im fishing 8 tournaments a year, and that requires a lot of planning, booking hotels/campgrounds/researching new tournament rivers you have never fished. There’s tons of work involved, more if you’re a pro
Does MLF read your comments? Could not agree more about the 3rd period snooze. I was able to watch some in the 5 fish format, but EFC's is way better. Camera now I am sure does not cut to someone just catching a fish, has to be a good one. Sad. Love the format Dale Hollow will be interesting. Thanks for all you do to drop vids.
JDub has really good instincts and having a tour next year that’s focuses on that opposed to ffs it will be awesome to see and watch how the field separates. Go get em JW
I agree Jacob. The big tournaments should coordinate together for the best interest of the conservation of our great fisheries and not pound them into oblivion. I like the schedule because it lacks all the forward facing sonar bodies and we might see instinctive skills on demand. I get the FFS deal, as a viewer I just don’t enjoy watching someone staring at the front of their boat all day.
DHL is super interesting to me. Using your format, the smallmouth are going to come into play because normally they're ignored in tournaments because of the slot. Can't tell you how many 4+ lb sm are thrown back becaue they're only 19 in long. If the wind blows, it could get dumb.
So pumped to see dale hollow on a professional trail. I’ve never went to be a spectator to any pro tournament but I grew up going there so a trip down there during the bpt is definitely happening
Takes 28lbs to win some tournaments at the Chowan that time of year. Marty Stone no doubt set this one up. You guys are in for a treat. Can’t wait to see how you break it down. I fished a 33 boat tournament there this past May and 1st was 24lbs.
Very excited for next year's schedule. Some new bodies of water that I think will separate some of the guys out. I am already looking at lodging at Dale Hollow during the tournament. One of my bucket list fisheries.
1st thing I noticed and love it doesn't appear the schedule is chasing the spawn on every tournament
Holy Toledo!!! Can’t wait for that one!!
You are going to LOVE Chowan river, shallow, river/coastal system, lots of options, BIGGGUNNSSS are there.
Stoked for Dale Hollow!
Hope u have a great 2024 pulling for you to do great one of my favorite
Chowan River and it's surrounding rivers have some giants.... can't wait to see what you all can do....
Chowan/Roanoke River is going to be a great tournament. There are some giants in that place!
Them boys aint gonna know were to run lol
@@alltree78 You think they got where they are now by not knowing how to figure that out in a couple days or less.
I hate the secret will be out. Tournament pressure is already negatively affecting these rivers.
How long did it take you to figure it out? Your probably still learning. I lnow i am. Same on the James, been fishing it for 25 years. Learn new shit every year. It aint like they can pull up a accurate map to show em.

25 to 30lb to win norm tournaments on the chowan 4 to five different rivers huge body of water hundreds of miles of water! Wind plays huge but you guys are going to love it!!
Cant wait for DC’s rant on Kissimmee 🎣 💪🏻🛎
Toledo Bend. Can’t wait to see what house do here!
I fish the Chowan River a lot each season! Some heavy sacks come from there! If you like flipping,or frog fishing in the early morning...then you will have a blast
Really wish y’all come back to Maine !!
DHL… Let’s Go! Will definitely be there. Hopefully as a MLF BOAT OFFICIAL but if not… Will be on the water!
Edenton is pronounced like "eat". There are some trophy fish in the chowan river. It is one of the best kept secrets but not for long. You guys are going to love it.
So surprised to see chowan. Eastern nc getting some recognition. I grew up fishing the pamlico.
Chowan is a great fishery. Is a marshy river with lots of cypress trees.
Chowan river is about to be a absolute smash fest there are going to be so many big bags especially that time of the year probably might see a 30 pound bag but lots of 20
1 month ago it took 30 to win and multiple 20 pound bags
Chowan river i should see ya there Jacob. Saw you at red crest this year.
Dale Hallow! All and all they all seem likely bangers though honestly. I'm going to try to get down to Santee while y'all are there.
Chowan and James river back to back....we get see how y'all tackle my local fisheries.
The James and Chowen are tidal as well.
Can someone tell me where to watch these live.
Toledo Bend! Let's go boys.
Yall need to do an every fish counts on the Sabine River in TX.......
Ohhhhhhh boy!! My birthday weekend June 4-9th at chowan river my home river this is going to be great.
That’s one of the best schedules any tournament trail has had in a while it completely mixes it all up. I love it.
The chowan and the james are gonna be good fishing, river biggins!
Awesome lakes/rivers this year! Dale Hollow is going to be a banger! I do wish that y’all would go to CALI for a tournament!
They are giving away all our secrets!!!! lol.
You will love chowon takes 25- 30lb for local teams
Chowan river in North Carolina is going to be a beast. My biggest tournament bag ever came from that river.
So much fun there!!!
Wish we can get you guys to come out west! You guys never get west of Texas or Oklahoma. We have Clearlake the Delta and so many others just in California. I don’t live too far from eufual lake in Oklahoma and the lake is decent size and little dirty
I got a question how would someone get into pro bass fishing.
Toledo will be dope at that time if the water isn't too high.
The James is my home body of water… I will take off to get up there and meet the crew I can’t wait
It would be awesome to get mlf to fish kerr lake or smith mountain lake
Can’t believe how Dale Hollow fishing has changed over the years . Billy Westmoreland will be watching in amazement.
Being from Arkansas, I though Eufala was a giant water treatment facility when I first drove past it… if the wind is blowing(and it will be), it’ll be super muddy.
you guys need to come to the west coast 🎣
I agree heavy hitters on cal Delta
Dale Hollow…Boom!
Bro, Chowan river bass get BIG. Lots of 10s caught out of there. Ya'll are gonna tear that place up.
Cool to see you out on Morse for the Thursday night!
I would throw a treble hook with a large weight on it, in every tournament
Dale hollow is going to be awesome. Deep and rocky. Lots of backwater areas. You can fish your strengths and do good no matter what your technique is.
Can’t wait to see you on santee my place is open if you need it
Chosen river here in nc is full of fish and snake especially when it gets hot the back waters in that black stained water is fire around the time y’all gonna be there watch out for the moccasins tho they fall out of the trees on your boat
Love this schedule compared to this year, I was waiting on MLF to hit Toledo…..really like the new lakes
would love to see a video touring your boat shop tour and trophy room

You have a good chance on Toledo, trust me.
And I like your odds on Toledo that time of year!
J dub, you are the GOAT, IN fishing, attitude, and all the above, have you ever fished the ross barnett rez in mississippi?
Dale Hollow. I love the video of you and Hunter there.
