Thanks for this, I love this song! The production quality in this song is top level. Amorphis digs deep in the old Finnish folklore mythology called Kalevala. Most of their songs are stories from that. They even have an outside of the band lyricist, a poet called Pekka Kainulainen who writes them lyrics in Finnish about Kalevala and the band then translates them in English.
Yes, after listening to The song on our phones, everything was clear as a bell....Our mix on the system in the studio, did not do the song justice. It needs a better mix... Absolutely love this band. 😀 Flipster, mouseman...He took me the wrong way... I was ASKING FOR A LYRIC BREAKDOWN...because I ❤️ LOVE AMORPHIS....just want to know more about them as a band. They put alot of thought and production into their videos. We need More AMORPHIS😀👍🎶🎵💜 Its is a 👍 good thing.Thank you Jack...Keep Rockin 🎵🎶👍
With Amorphis lyrics the key is to know the stories of Kalevala, this finnish epic is truly a chest of epic stories, some easily opening, some with deep filosophical boosters to one's mind. You can say, that without Kalevala there might not be lord of the rings at all. Tolkien studied Kalevala seriously, even took some characters from in his work. If you find intrest it is translated in english as many other languages. The difference of those translations i don't know, since Kalevala is not only poems, but pentatonic sung poems gallery, so for western ear used to four four rhytmics it may sound wierd. In yt you can find videos done with traditional instruments such as kantele with trad melodies on 5/4 . Amorphis does updating of kalevala tremendously, always worth to listen.
@@helky8 Ofcourse not. i don't think they create their music with that goal in mind. Their music is independent art work inlueced by those stories of ancient oral tradition. If one finds time and intrest that epic is truly worth of divin'.
We've never heard of the stories you refer to, this Kalevala. I try and understand the lyrics of any song. It's important to me as a singer. I like when writers use a play on words that make you think deeply.
Excellent song from a group I think is not appreciated enough. A lot of their songs are taken from the Kalevala, the epic poem of Finland. I have been reading it and the stories it tells are amazing. great reaction, stay safe, God Bless, keep rocking.
Thank You for the reaction! Please consider checking out the live performance of "The Smoke" ruclips.net/video/J0Bd04qx6C8/видео.html as it is an excellent song. Greetings from Finland!
Hey Frank. Not sure if this is from the Kalevala or not, but the lyrics talk about accepting a sacrifice of treasure and gifts "before the winter's gale, before the frost and snow." To me, the protagonist is offering up all that matters to him before death. Not sure if it is a sacrifice to his gods, or to the one he loves. I think these lines are important and point to that idea: Covered sun has gone away When the world has gone Take what I will give you Accept my sacrifice.
@@alancarter41 hi Alan, thanks for that, it makes sense your explanation and the video. I understand English well, but as it is not my native tongue, it’s sometimes difficult to get them first time listening. And I am not into poetry at all, so when lyrics become poetic I am lost. 🤪
@@alancarter41 😂🤣 Btw I think I managed to get Beeswax, pissed of at me, in the comments on Harvest. You have to watch the link he sent me to fully understand. 😉
For me, I'm a singer, so I like to try and understand the lyrics and what the songs about, or is that not important too? Flips stereo system is loud but it's not very clear. I can hear the lyrics better on my phone.

Yes, it's not always easy to understand... It's poetry. And I'm not sure if there is need to understand all the lyrics? 🤔

Yes, there is a world of wonderment here to explore lyrically and overall composition is absolutely 💯 👌 ear candy

Hi, guys; if possible, react to THERION "Ginnungagap" (Gothic Live 2007). I want to see your jaws drop in awe... Cheers...
Okay cool.
Amorphis Alone rhe Oulu show, please😁
Y’all are up late.
Like the music, I also didn’t get all the lyrics so I don’t really understand the video. Good night to y’all 💤😴
Our days and nights are messed up. Being that we had some time off this week.
