Dedicating this story to all the COVID heroes, both sung and unsung--Healthcare workers, nuns, custodians, police officers, the children who sacrificed their in-person learning to keep us adults safe, the people who supported survivors of domestic violence, those who grieved deeply and kept on living, and all the women who tirelessly sewed cloth masks to help save the world.
