Thanks for the guided directions! Very much appreciated! My tensioner tool was too long and the control arm was in the way so I had to buy one of those Bilitool sets that have an extension bar for multiple angles.
In the end the entire job took me about 50 minutes to complete! Thank you sir 🫡

The struggle you go through to get things done on these cars because of the way they are designed with limited space. Great video and information!

Great video! I've done this a million times on different cars but I always like to watch a quick video in case there is that one nuanced difference between manufacturers.
My belt snapped on the highway because I ignored the timing cover leak for so long. I guess hot oil + fan belt= not good 😂 surprisingly the alternator is still in working condition!
Time to get in there and get it all done! Thanks for the very informative and professional video!

1998 toyota camry 4cyl is the easiest car in the entire world to fix. Everything is open to see plus basically 8-10-12 -14 & 19 m.m.socket is all you need to take the entire car apart and reassemble it in your living room on the 6th for apt.

Jim: Great Video, Man these engineers are not giving mechanics a lot of room to work on cars theses days. Do the engineers actually repair the cars they design??

I'm screwed. My friend broke off the lower alternator bolt in the block when he tightened to much. Now I need to change it again and no clue if it can even be done.

Does my battery need to be fully charged first?

    • @charlesbarkwell7693
      @charlesbarkwell7693 3 года назад +2

      No.
Only if your Battery Voltage is reading 12.4 Volts or Less.
( Your Digital Voltage Meters Red Lead is attached to your Batterys Positive Post - Black Lead is attached to your Batterys Negative Post with your Car Keys in your pocket. ) ( A Good Scanner will display the Battery Voltage on the Screen )
Regular Flood Acid Battery Voltage Chart
( Not the Expensive AGM -Absorbed Glass Mat Battery )
      12.6 Volts = 100 % Charged Battery
      12.4 Volts. = 75 % Charged Battery
      12.2 Volts = 50 % Charged Battery
      12.0 Volts = 25 % Charged Battery
11.8 Volts or Below : Vehicle more than likely is not going to Start . The Voltage Drops while Cranking on every vehicle Under the Sun ; once the Voltage drops below 9.6 Volts while Cranking you're gonna have too call Houston - OR just go buy a Battery but Test the Starter 1st.

Wonderful vid! Made it simple. Only thing that would have made it better is a belt diagram.
