Cody Jinks is outstanding! I’d classify his music as “new Texas outlaw.” He plays out of Texas and made his bones outside of the Nashville executive influence. His catalog is great but one of my favorites is “Must Be The Whiskey.” I’m pretty sure it could play in any English pub and they’d like it….
The first time I heard this song, it went on repeat for the next several hours, so I totally get where you’re coming from. I watched an interview with him where he said that he and his son, who was a toddler at the time were driving through a rain storm on their way to go play with tractors…and the rain just got crazy to the point where his little boy started chanting “LOUD AND HEAVY” from the backseat. Cody says he stole the idea right then and there and now you have the song. Go check out “Must Be the Whiskey”. That song is amazing. Great reaction.
Started out as lead singer in a metal band called Unchecked Aggression. After a few years he returned to country music. His voice is charismatic, so deep and filled with emotion. Great country song. Great reaction Craig. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
What an incredible voice! Has a very old-school country sound to it. I agree it has old soul blended with outlaw country to it as well. His voice has aspects of Garth Brooks, Hank Williams Jr, and someone that at the moment I just can't place. Great pick!
I have a great suggestion for you . The group is called, Extreme and their song is called, More Than Words. Be sure and do the live studio version. You will like this song. Thank you.
It’s fun to know the style of music he came from prior to returning to his roots. Homeboy is partly a metalhead at heart and his lyrics really show it. I believe he even played in a thrash metal band for a while before coming back to actual country music. Either way, I’m here for it 🤘🏻
