Firstly, ladies, thanks for deciding to take this deep dive into Sleep Token! You won't be disappointed.
Now, here's some info for you. Sundowning is a condition of Dementia where sufferers become more confused, forgetful and agitated as the day progresses towards evening. The first song on this album portrays this in its lyrics. All the vocals, including backing vocals are performed by Vessel. Only for live performances are backing singers employed. The backing singers used by Sleep Token are a 3 piece female group called Espera. Try to remember some of the lyrics from this song as they reappear on the very last song of the most recent album Take Me Back To Eden. Thus ending the trilogy of albums. Great reaction. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
I’m sorry but I respectfully disagree with you and anyone else who hears the lyrics we entangle endlessly like lovers entwined and I know for the last time you will not be mine. Why do people think vessel singing about his god mother, is it because he says godmother rise up in TMBTE? He’s singing about living by day and by night. We act out of our holy duty to be constantly awake (chokehold). At night is when we get to be unholy and do unholy things. I believe the ex may have had a chemical dependency and that’s why she can only remember during the day and when she’s alone(sober).
The night is definitely not like heaven for people with Alzheimer’s , it’s more like hell. Both of my grandparents had it and I’ve worked as a care taker for others that have it as well.
If I’ve missed something please inform me because I’ve spent so much time listening and putting as much together as I can and I just don’t hear what y’all hear.

@@darcystcorner2580I think you need to step back and slow down a bit. Your disagreement may have been with someone else other than the original comment here. A lot of Sleep Token fans struggle with the music and the lyrics. Always trying to put an artist in a particular box is a fallacy we've adapted to over the last few decades. Along with that people try to connect bread crumbs between songs to help them make sense of everything like a movie or a book. Art is subjective. Vessel is an artist. He is telling a story but it may not be linear or even related to the same person or deity.
Sundowning is a condition of dementia and Alzheimer's. You could be right in your synopsis of good during the day and bad at night but if I recall this was dedicated to his grandmother, not godmother who had this condition. Vessel has put together a masterpiece with the help of ii, III and IV that talks to the scars in our soul. That being said, nobody is wrong or right. Just slow down and look at it from a different perspective instead of absolute direction.
Listening to the three albums in a row, without stopping, was the best musical experience I have ever had. Sleep Token is modern performance art. Vessel is a master of his craft (not to mention 2, and the others present at live shows). The lore behind the music and Vessel himself is intriguing and unique. The ST community is also fantastic. This is my all-time favorite band and I can't wait to watch you two react to every song. Worship!
Same....I listened to their whole discography straight through (yeah, it took a couple hours 😅, but I didn't have anything else to do that day) and it was so hypnotic, trance inducing that I felt so relaxed and yes, emotionally stimulated. It was a wonderful experience and to this day, I listen to them on repeat, all of their songs. They are arguably the best band in a generation.
Remember this song. The pay off to the last song of the 3 Albums will tie this all up. Enjoy the journey !

For studio recordings vessel does everything himself besides drums. For live performances vessel 3 bass, vessel 4 guitar and three female backup vocalists join the band.

Yesssss! I gotta admit I've been checking y'all's channel to see if there was another SLEEP Token. 😎🎶❣️ I've only been listening to them for a few weeks. It's my son's favorite band and I was always curious to how this band brought out so many emotions in him ( yes I was probably judging a book by it's cover) now that I know its I get it. Buckle up ladies.....this whole album is breathtaking. MUSIC🎵IS🎶MAGIC

My daughter played Sleep Token for me for the first time cause we've always been like "Hey, listen to this awesome song" with each other. I was hooked instantly. I went down the rabbit hole and took her with me. We are going to see them in May. We are so excited.

To me the EPS are important too it's like a prequel to the whole story not to mention the importance of when the bough breaks later in tmbte
Great reaction can’t wait for more this is a great album. The term Sundowning is a type confused state with behavior changes that happens after nightfall usually seen with a lot of dementia patients. Every song has a different symbol, there are a lot of Alchemy symbols sprinkled throughout that have different spiritual meanings. They have a lot of interesting symbolism to unpack enjoy the journey!

Vessel recorded everything but the drums. In all sleep token recordings.
When they tour, iii is on bass and iv is on guitar and does some scream vocals. They also have 3 female backup singers.

My favorite Sleep Token song and it’s what got me obsessed with them. The background singers are known by fans as the Vesselettes and are technically the only traveling members of the band that have publicly known identities. They’re a band called Espera when they aren’t traveling with Sleep Token

Looks like y'all have been entranced by Vessel's voice same as the rest of us 😂. His voice is so smooth, buttery and warm. I love it. He's a modern day pied piper 😂 and we're the rats following him everywhere 😊. I could just wrap his voice around me like a blanket....gah, it's ridiculous 😂. So glad to see you do the deep dive. I'm here for it! You'll be glad you did it, especially when you get to the latest album and the last song. It'll all come full circle. Vessel does all the vocals on the recordings as well as all the instruments except for the drums which is II. They have backup singers for their Rituals (concerts) and III and IV on bass and guitar. Vessel has a keyboard set up that he plays but he lets III & IV do the guitar parts so he can perform and sing. He's great live! Man's voice is ethereal! Definitely God given. Beautiful. Can't wait till the next one. Until then.....

Going through the trilogy albums is a rollercoaster between their musicality of blending genres, some of the best lyrics I’ve ever heard, and Vessel’s emotions and soulful voice that hits sooo deep! Every second of the Sleep Token journey is 100000% worth it!
Definitely pay attention to each lyric, idea, concept, artwork, etc. There are sooo many Easter eggs and everything is interconnected! Vessel is an absolute genius, and ive never witnessed musical art that is so precise & detailed like this trilogy! The “lore” behind the band & songs is worth deep diving into!

I’ve been listening to sleep token for over a year and one night in January I decided to listen to the entire discography from the Ep 1 and 2 to all 3 albums it took almost 4 hours. It changed me. I cried the emotional roller coaster and feelings I felt in my entire life no music has done what sleep token has done to me and for me. I don’t see me ever getting tired of them. EVER! Worship 🖤
It prolly sounds stupid but this band makes my heart beat in its proper rhythm again.
This is the sanest take on ST’s influence I’ve heard yet. Based comment.
One of the best aspects of their music is the many melodies they create and usually they show up individually in songs, but by the end they start overlapping, and it’s just a dance of melody. They play live with three back up singers called the vesselettes which is amazing because it allows them to pull off all the vocal layers in concert.

Toward the end of the song when Vessel is layering lyrics, that reappears later as a callback not as often spoken about as actual lyrical callbacks or references to other songs. He stays consistent with his vocal layering and such, and although all three albums are unique, they blend seamlessly. I’m so excited for you two to go on this journey. I saw them live in October of last year and yeah, Vessel hits all of his notes. All of them.

You really should start from the very beginning and listen to the 2 EP’s. It’s all great!
I don’t know if you do or not, but when listening to sleep token, it helps a lot to have lyrics pulled up in front of you, just in case you don’t miss anything because a big part of sleep token is the lore and lyrics.
I don't know if you read the comments but Vessel is the singer. The drummer is II, not Vessel II. Bassist is III, guitarist IV.

So all the background voiceovers are done by vessel, it’s all just layering in studio.

The early stuff wasn't as good imo but I'm a Metal guy so I like when they started to incorporate heavier elements. The early stuff is by no means bad and there are a few really good songs but most is a bit too Indy sounding for me. Their best stuff is definitely more recent so I guess we can look forward to that. ☺️
As for the background vocals as far as I know the background singers are a very recent addition I think mainly for when they tour. I'm pretty sure all background vocals you're going hear on all studio recordings all the way up to their most recent stuff is all Vessel. Legend.

Get ready for an emotional journey! Vessel is a poet with just an amazing voice. I would recommend at least understanding the idea of the lore behind his words. Also...if u don't pause and comment at least once, the video could get flagged for copyright reasons. So....at least once. Don't be those people who stop every 5 secs to comment. Pro tip: If I know a song is 5 mins long and the reaction video is ridiculously longer, I won't watch it. It just ruins to reaction experience for me.

If you have the ability to have the lyrics pulled up on the side of the video you are watching, I suggest you do that. There is a lot of depth to the lyrics, but sometimes you can’t always understand what he is saying, just another suggestion for you, ladies, as you move forward. #Worship

Hey, I very very highly recommend pulling up the lyrics while you on on this journey. I'm not trying to over hype them right now: their lyrics are unlike anything I've ever heard. I'm not a lyric guy. They made me this way.
You're losing a good amount of the value and impact this band has without *seeing* their lyrics.
Also, don't rely on the visualizer videos for the lyrics, they're older and incorrect. Literally open up a tab and read, I promise you that you won't be disappointed.
I'm locked in for the journey. Just don't do yourself a disservice by relying on your ears instead of eyes for lyrical content.
