After years of just not vibing with the Rock the radio/mainstream would put out, I think I speak for many when I say Sleep Token is that sound so many of us have been waiting and searching for, if that makes sense. ☺️✌️
As a music instructor, I feel you 100%. I’ve learned and listened to everything… from the most extreme and technical metal to the most subtle jazz… and I had given up on finding anything fresh that didn’t seem like unoriginal regurgitated ideas. I straight up stopped pursuing anything new cause it just brought monotonous letdown. Then someone showed me Sleep Token and they are literally everything I’ve ever wanted from a band… the heavy 8 string guitars, the next level drumming, the esoteric yet emotional lyrics, the musical twists and turns, the blending of any genre they desire, and the otherworldly songwriting. They restored my hope in music.
Worship! This band revitalized my love for music and watching new people experience it is so fulfilling. If you enjoyed the blending of genres, just wait. By the time you get to album 3, you'll think they can't do anything else different...then they do.
This one is definitely a stand-out track! It was instantly one of my favorites, and is still a great example of II putting on an absolute CLINIC on those drums! Lol Can't wait for more reactions! Worship

This band has effected me like no other in my 48 years on the planet and its such a joy watching your expressions match mine the first time I heard each song! Dallas, the smile on your face says it all....and Andrea has the right idea, just close your eyes and go with it 😊. Course then you wouldn't see the lyrics which are a vital part of the journey. Vessel is so talented and his lyrics are unparalleled. Enjoyed seeing y'all fall more in love with them. They truly are amazing. As for II, he knows just when to add the best "fills" (The beats to fill in the "space"). Together they have made some of the most eclectic but awesome 😎 music....no, no they make ART! Enjoyed your reactions! This band is one of 2 groups that i cant help watch massive amounts of reactions too. My favorite thing is to see someone enjoy something i love. Especially if its new!! The other band or person is NF btw. There is something collective about talent and expertise, that seeing it acted out is exciting and seeing others recognize that same talent is also very satisfying....even though it has nothing to do with us hahahaha. I feel like I should comment this....and I'll be very vague here because the full story gives clues to Vessel's identity. The Sleep Deity is a metaphor and works on that level if you want. But the literal meaning of these three albums is much deeper. Vessel was in a specific toxic relationship with his musical partner prior to Sleep Token. The disintegration of this relationship left him devastated. The songs are "offerings to Sleep"...but they are really all about the stages of grief he moved through coming to terms with the end of this relationship: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. All three albums primarily deal with this and the songs (offerings) fall somewhere on this sliding scale. Sundowning seems particularly filled with denial and anger, but that is just my opinion. Again, I was really vague ....art has meaning beyond the literal and you are welcome to enjoy it however you would like. I just thought I would add context while respecting the anonymity of Vessel and his former partner. Have you ever loved someone so much, that their absence made you hide your identity, put on a mask, record three full albums of heartbreaking songs, liken it to worshiping an ancient deity, and become an international rock star just to deal with it?
I have ALWAYS said this about them....the lore is a cool thing n all....but I feel these are songs about someone in his life and not some deity....but the addition of this deity concept helps fuel the mystique for sure

You get a check out Imminence and they are kind of like sleep token but better but that’s just in my opinion. Imminence is from Sweden and the lead singer. Eddie Berg actually plays violin while he is singing and screaming. Should really check them out with the song Continuum.
