The Planet Theia isn't really inside the earth, It was basically a planet that crashed into earth 4 billion years ago, when it crashed into earth Theia's surface splitted into millions of pieces of rocks which in a million years, it created earth's self satellite, the Moon, basically, the Moon is Earth's son while Theia is Moon's Mother lol.
They did that just because the width of the United States around 100 times would be that width, not because they're American. For example, say it was closer to 100 times the width of China, then they would use China as an example, not America.
