The thing most eye opening thing about the purple heart is that almost every purple heart was made for Operation Downfall, the potential invasion of Japan in WW2. So many were made for that single operation, that they haven't manufactured any purple hearts since 1945.

I have an answer, Sweden is in a post Empire era. We gain the wisdom of what the cost of war is during Carolus Rex reign, and because of it we know the sacrifice soldiers do, and also condemn when it is done for pointless causes.
Til the last shots fired, Arlington, Mr red white and blue, Wrong side of heaven, Gone away, Airborne ranger infantry, Everybody cries. They're out there man they just don't get played on the radio and little recognition.
What a reaction guys! I can see the pain it brings back in both of you. It's visceral and it saddens me to see. As much as it stirs up emotions in me I know it must only be a fraction of what you guys are experiencing. So thank you for sharing and I really hope you are doing alright!
Very moving react guys on a fantastic song paying tribute to soldiers. I regularly visit a military cemetery in my country, the Netherlands (Margraten American War Cemetery). Its a cemetery of WWII, some 8.000 fallen are burried there. It is possible to adopt a grave and pay tribute to the soldier. My grandfather adopted a grave in '52 en I took over many years ago. Once a month, on and on Holidays (Easter, Christmas) and espacially Memorial Day I pay a visit and thank him and all the others who gave their lives to free the world of fascist evil.
I am Swedish, and Sabaton is Swedish, we should thank America for keeping the world safe. You guys don't only war for your country, you guys keeping the world as it should be, in peace and harmony, you have to see that!
Damn, guys...the onion ninjas are hitting hard already. I didnt know that two of you are Purple Heart recipients. If I havent said it already, thank you both for your service. I cant imagine doing your job and coming under fire, or being in a convoy, and getting injured. You guys deserve your recognition -- moreso the guys who went over, and didn't come home. Semper fidelis. F (' ')7
When I was in high school, the history teacher had military veterans come in to class and tell us stories. They made sure we knew what they did and what it meant to them. WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. This was before and during the first Desert Storm attacks. I do thank any and all veterans for their service. I know the price they paid because I lost family in Vietnam. Love you guys and thank you for all you have done and do!
I remember being on the Honor Guard for my region (Oklahoma/Arkansas). Every service is hard. We focus on practicing, but when it is our time to present, the air changes. The hardest thing is watching the flag presented to the family. “On behalf of the President of the United States, the United States (insert branch), and a grateful Nation, please accept this flag as a symbol of our appreciation for your loved one's honorable and faithful service.”
Thank you for everything. I could see how hard this song was for you. So many have come back with invisible wounds that there is no training for. It angers me every time I see that come over a vet. I'm not mad at you vets, because I am a vets daughter, but at the whole dam situation. The politics of it all. I can understand why but the f politics. I see that shadow haunting the eyes I do my poor best to help. Most of them say its a simple warm hug that helps, a talk or even a cup of bad coffee.
I haven’t heard or seen a military funeral final call, but I’ve seen two funerals for the fire department where they did the final call out. Trying to raise them, no one answers, and after a small speech by dispatch, the ear piercing wail of the fire siren to send them off. A sight and feeling that I’ll never forget.
My Grandfather got that award after him and his pilot were shot down in Vietnam, he just passed away last christmas eve morning, 68 years old , he was my best friend, my idol, he was the father I didn't have growing up, he was what inspired me to want to join the military. i never did do to my own personal mental health issues, but I have nothing but respect for you guys and all that you do and have done, and i mean that with every fiber of my being. I respect you, all branches of the armed forces, law enforcement and most of all I love this entire fucking Country! God Bless You and God Bless the United States of America. o7
I'm Swedish and I've been to both Arlington National Cemetery and Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and you can trulty feel something else at these places, not just these two. It's hard to me to understand that anyone could not honer the fallen, they are not the deciders of war nor policies, they are the fallen for everyones right to be as they are.
How can anyone dislike this video? I chose like. I love the military their honor and sacrifice for us is unmeasurable. I felt the energy listening to this. I felt the adrenaline. Can't wait for the next video!
You all should do "Attack of the Dead Men" by Sabaton, but do the Piscator lyric video, as he adds clips from really good movies during the solos to give a little more justice to the event the song is about, because the Official sabaton lyric video just has generic images layered behind moving text. While the lyrics in the Piscator video aren't as animated, they are really good for reading the lyrics, then being entertained even more during the solos, here's the link to his video on the song: ruclips.net/video/YQ4ovb_6DXA/видео.html
this song honestly brings me to tears every time i hear it , reminds me of my grandpa who passed away recently he served on a us aircraft carrier during veitnam , this just hits hard every time i hear it remember the fallen , may they rest in peace and may their sacrifice be remembered
Theirs a huge cemetery for the military down in Illinois I don’t remember where it is but I went there with my grandma once I agree with you you feel something there my great grandparents both daughters in WW2 and I have a cousin in the Navy god bless these poor souls who died in the line of duty to protect our country you will always be remembered
I can't even imagine what you guys went through in OIF /OEF but thank you for your service. you are the men who endured the endless dark, and came back.
that was breathtaking, brutal and powerful,me grampa, who served in the US Navy in ww1,after he moved to nova scotia, july 1 was CANADA DAY,July 4th we raised ole glory while gramps played the bagpipes,i still weep with pride at the tought of how much that meant to us both....

I have a purple heart... but no name to go with it. Was the guy that served with the 56th Air Defense Artillery Regiment the same guy that wiukd get the 113th Cavalry Regiment pin? No fucking clue. I can only speculate and that pisses me off. European - African - Middle Eastern Campaign Medal Ribbon, American Defense Service Medal ribbon, and the very faded Good Conduct Medal ribbon. I think the ribbons, the medals and the 56th and 113th pins belonged to the same person... But since I have no name to go with it, I can only speculate.
Very true guys. I thank and salute US military for their service and sacrifice. I'm no American, yet it frustrates me of how those NFL people tend to be disrespectful. They seem to have forgotten about their service and sacrifice so others can have their peace and freedom. Freedom of which, I think, has been taken for granted a lot. Keep on reacting to Sabaton. And thank you guys for your service. Salute to you.
12:46 That might be a stupid question, but can someone please explain to me what the problem was? Is it the woman who is holding the flag and is putting a rose on the coffin (and if it's her then why?) or is it someone/something else? (What am I missing that provoked them this much?)
It had nothing to do with the lady and had nothing to do with why they got provoked. The rant after was aimed at the NFL players who refused to stand for the national Anthem and in doing so disrespect the country and flag those men and women gave their lives for so they could have the rights they hold so dear.
The constitution you fought to protect give people the right to kneel. If you don't acknowledge that the sacrifice was for nothing else but a red hat with a slogan and a totalitarian regime. Back2school, you should have a look at Beau of the fifth column, he was a US operator. He'll really take you to school.

@@WickedWarrior It wasn't those millionaires who sent you out to fight and die for oil. Those millionaires are the ones talking about patriotism while they spit on you and call you losers.
the anti American sentiment is often justified. We thank the Armed Forces for their sacrifices for our country, but it doesn't mean that our country is perfect. I respect all of our WW2 vets, doesn't change the fact that in those times black people were forced to drink from separate water fountains... There are many problems with America right now, and we should be free to voice our opinions, because that freedom is what keeps America what it is. It isn't disrespecting the brave men fighting overseas.
May I ask a serious (honest) question? Why do you feel disrespected, by kneeling athlets? It´s not like they would say: "I knee because I don´t honor the sacrifices others made for this country." As I understand it, they say something like: "I knee because I want everybody to know, that I think there is something not quite allright in this country" * That doesn´t take anything away from you! They are not insulting or disrespecting anybody. I´m not american. So maybe I don´t get the full picture.. Therefore, I´d really apriciate it, if you could explain!
It's that people died to keep the flag flying but people kneel on it instead, which doesn't seem like a big deal but to most people it's saying that the person kneeling doesn't care about the sacrifice
Please exclude the guy in the middle! He doesn´t know what he´s talking about, and he annoys me. It is his right to have his political views, (which are clearly not mine) but I don´t want to hear about them. Please live up to the title, and make this two veterans listening/reacting to Sabaton.
Sabaton never romanticise on war and battle. They tell the stories from the soldiers perspective. Which makes them unique.
Thank you for your service.
