It's mixed for the brainwashed UK polite Society Tory Party Controlled BBC. The UK is far too "nice", on the outside, to have an imagination past their "Industry Standard" pleasantness of "Jesus will save us, no need to rise up, just keep being pleasant while we empty your cup." It's def weird sounding but it's hard to say it's definitely the mix that's at fault. If the mics weren't set up or chosen well, or the room wasn't well-suited to this kind of recording (which seems likely) then it could have been that, or other factors. There's only so much you can do to fix things in the mixing stage.
This is what more artists need to realise: play a character - gain traction and attention. I love this shit, more front(wo)men seriously need to start thinking more about what they're doing on stage. It's the little things, always. Besides the music, personality is what makes a rock star.

When the guitar came in for split second I thought they were doing a Minutemen cover, can't remember the name of the song, but it was most definitely an influence on this song, D Boone is pretty damn good influence to have. Hell of a performance. Nice to hear this kind of music being played again on TV.

Agreed saw them in London are they are just superb. Best live night I've had in years. To be fair to Jools Holland show there aren't adverts but yep not thier best performance... Amy almost nervous got vocal timing out here.

To me this band have the AC/DC's punch on their sound, these three guys kill a lot live, vocals are of course completely different than AC/DC, but she also kill, as singer and as frontwoman, leader, anyway, what great new band. One of the greatest bands I've seen in the last 10 years easily. She is incredible and the songs are amazing. When I think rock/punk is dead...it isn't, it just lives in Australia.

yo Tadpole. love your youtube channel. you drop some mad tunes on there. also to the philistines commenting .. there's obviously a difference between seeing a band playing live on jools holland and the experience of being at a gig.. but maybe not if your used to seeing gigs via the jumbo-screens at wembley arena rather than the viceral intimacy of a 100person capacity sweat cage. the sound mixing was didnt do them any favours i think they still stood out to the right people as a band that breaks the mold. them, viagra boys and liquids are the hottest bands around rn.
70s Mt Druitt vibe. Couldn't tell you if genuine bogans would actually like them. A friend who grew up in the La Trobe Valley was skeptical. He said they came across to him as art school kids pretending to be bogans. I don't think they are taking the piss though. I think they have a real love for Oz rock even if their mullets are a tad ironic.
The world can't get enough of this band, you won't see another frontwoman this good for years. Hottest rock chick in 2 decades. Go Amy!
