Can't believe how some people can be so stupid. This is a cable that goes from an RJ45 VDSL/ADSL link to the RJ11 modem/router link. All this talk about T-568A or T-568B No mention of T-568C.. The modem/router cable is just 2 center wires that go straight through. The only thing that is different on each end is the connector.

Bought one from ebay. You Have to turn off the router connect cacble then restart and wait. I had to do it twice. Now getting maximum speeds.

I understand you are trying to help and tell people what you have concluded, but your conclusion is based on the wrong reasons so incorrect.
There are two types of wiring configurations in network Cat5 (wire order), T-568A or T-568B, so a miss match can start there. Possibly the cable you bought is for another appliance like serial console cable, ISDN, UK Telecom (even then the A and B wire can be either way around, Type 1 or Type 2). So unless you know what you're doing, the supplier knows what they are selling and the manufacturer knows what they are making the cable for then there can be a lot of unhappy matches.
If anyone wants a cable to improve the connection from the wall to the modem then you need to build it yourself or ask someone to do it for you who knows the colour codes involved. Tools required are a crimp tool (RJ45 and RJ11 crimper) with a couple of connectors (again RJ45 and RJ11, preferably pass through).
Yes if all those parts are correct and the internal wires care in the right order at both ends, then the cable you buy will work. In fact, it will improve speeds often by a decent amount. The flat cheaply made telephone cables that come with the modem are made of cheap stranded aluminum, with no shielding. Also, the cross talk is high because pairs are not twisted to add resistance to crosstalk and other interference, the twisted pairs is a form of shielding.
Think about it, it's just a cable so as long as it matches up correctly then it will work.

I've never bought one, but I have made the cable myself multiple times for myself and friends. Works great with my BT infinity, Although you won't see any real performance improvements but I do feel reliability has been increased.
    Hope this helps :)

Even though these were obviously wired, were they wired correctly? -I mean, I could make conductive carbon wires to join both ends and even if correctly joined the only difference would be in the form of electrical resistance from the differing materials.
    I am curious for sure.

Hi, Can you tell me what DSL Cable I require to put one end in the Router, and the other end goes into my Phone Socket which is a Double from Openreach. Thanks.

I had a new socket fitted a few weeks ago and the but engineer said don't use the bottom socket for the broadband connection only use the smallest at the top so both ends are the same size and the bottom one is just for the phone connection

The cables you purchased probably have the wrong termination order (either T-568A or T-568B). If the cable has the opposite of what your ISP has installed, you have a cross over cable.

what is the usual termination order that ISPs install for dsl?

I bought an rj11 (male) to rj 45 (female) adapter so that I could connect my laptop to my hub (Virgin M). In addition to this I bought 15m (flat) Cat7 cable. Connected it all together; didn't work. The guy a VM, said it may be the cat 7 cable. I tested the cable by connecting one of my desktop pc's with it. The light on the hub was flashing. I've ordered another rj11 to rj 45 (female) adapter from a different vendor, and 10m Cat 6 cable. Perhaps I'll be luckier this time!
I would like to rid myself of the Wi-Fi manace!

Is it possible with an RJ11 to an RJ45 adapter to receive the Internet?

Could you plug the RJ45 connector into the RED broadband socket on the back of a Plusnet hub one so that you have RJ45 going into the wall socket and also going into the router
