- We decide to make some home made coleslaw and put it up against one of the big supermarket brands the Co Op. Ours has no preservatives or additional flavour ingriedients but the store one has loads of stuff in. Do check out our other food review and cooking videos on our channel. There is a dedicated playlist at • Food Reviews

Little lemon and little Dijon mustard with crème fresh finished with chives
Mmmmmmm sounds delicious
Another ingredient you can add which makes it super tasty , dice finely a gherkin also adding one tablespoon of gherkins vinegar to mayo 😊
I like some red cabbage , green cabbage, carrot , radish and celery seed. Try a wrap with chicken fingers or fish with some of your slaw in, so filling.
Good idea, but there is pretty much the same preservatives and extra crap in the mayo you've used.
I make my own coleslaw and also add a nice crunchy sliced apple to it. Have also occasionally added walnuts and raisins. Just a change. Thanks for all your videos you always give me a good laugh.
Sounds great!
Thanks for showing us this… home made is always the best and looks lovely 😃
Usually one salts the cabbage well in a bowl and covers it for a while to soften it, then rinse off the salt in a colander add carrot etc. then mayo or salad cream and into the fridge to rest.
Cosori XXL very informative video Martin and Sharon on cleaning the unit
I've started cooking a lot more since watching you Two,love your videos. LN4
Thank you butler family for sharing your wonderful videos I am watching from South Africa
I always make my own Coleslaw. I first tried coleslaw back in the '60s when my mum bought some home from young wives.
That version had more onion than store-bought, and that's how I make mine. More onion, but finely cut. I also add a bit of lemon to keep it fresh, and a spot of dijon mustard.
Sounds great!
Lidl mayo contains E385 - Calcium disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate so you aren't really gaining anything. It also contains sugar. Like others say, try making your own mayo with no preservatives.
You get the idea though.
Totally agree with you Martin and Mrs B. We make our own but always use the best mayonnaise you can afford. 👍🏻👍🏻
I can't use mayonnaise as I'm egg intolerant so I substitute it with yogurt with cider or white wine vinegar . No sugar added .
Wow what a price difference and the home made one is much tastier also a great idea using red onions and the red cabbage is a great idea . cheers Martin &Sharon really enjoyed this one Kevbo&Jackie
Very nice! Shop-bought coleslaw and potato salad are usually the worst. Hellman's mayonnaise is my favorite.
Thanks Martin and Sharon , I might even try this one , as I like nice coleslaw , but rarely do I like shop bought coleslaw , some are not even tolerable , from Tony from Bedfordshire
Halo family, try and add table spoon of salad cream to yours, regards Inma x
Thanks for the tip!
I love my dual Blaze my crisper tray has always been easy to get in and out its not tight it just slides in I've seen many videos of people having trouble getting the crisper tray in especially in the USA maybe cosori have fixed it hear in the UK or maybe I'm just lucky.
I love homemade food so much better than store bought !!!!!🙃
Good idea
Love the vids. But that mayo has sugar too. You can't say ur homemade coleslaw is sugar free like you said.
We checked there is 0.2 gramms which is virtually zero. NO added sugar like the shop bought has.
Hi I make a Waldorf salad which is red cabbage white cabbage handful of raisin’s and chopped walnuts salt and pepper and mayo give it a try love your rogramme
Looks good. Might pair well with some homemade cornflake battered fried chicken and a slab of cornbread.
I like mine with chopped red apple as well as satsuma oranges. Think shop brought coleslaw is all dressing and no goodness as such., like with the homemade. I agree Dijon mustard and lemon juice with crème fresh makes a nice taste.
Sounds great!
Can't beet a bit of home made coleslaw in a baked potato love it. Tina makes it for me shes not a fan. 👍
I always make my own and I sometimes put in a few slivers of coleslaw and pickled jalapeños.

We make to the same recipe as you, but with one addition , a tablespoon of whole grain mustard,......gives it a little zing to the taste.

We do a homeade one.. great for BBQs
Butlers best bites lovely jubbly
I prefer sharons
just curious what's the ingredients in Lidl Mayo
You can Google that Pat. It's online.
Martin you should try making your own mayo. Eggs and olive oil and that fits right in with your low carb diet and then theres nothing processed in your home made coleslaw
I done this a few years back and it tasted quiet good. T-spoon of mustard powder mixed in and its bang on
Great idea
Try a sprinkle of hot paprika in it,
Homemade Coleslaw all the way
Should have made your own mayonnaise that Lidl stuff Is full of naughty chemicals and sugar
That would be a video on its own Phil
I used to have cheese cooked in a large dish in oven every Friday at work ,canteen I have try to find the recipe but can not find it anywhere this was back in 1970 because you were doing school dinner it reminder of that dish we always had it with toast can you help
Was it cheese and potato pie?
Hiya, why do you always use co-op or big named products to do a comparison with ??? You should be using a comparable store product so if you buy co-op coleslaw buy the co-op products to compare with. If you buy and aldi coleslaw buy aldi items to make the same product. You buy the named products which are more expensive but then shop at aldi which is cheap stuff. Therefore unfair comparison x
Whatever we choose, there would be somebody who would want it done different. Can't please everyone. Its just our opinion.
💜👏
Hi guess love the channel where did you get your coloured bowls from with the lids i love them xxxxx
They was a gift from our daughter in Cyprus but Sharon thinks there's similar on Amazon Steph.
