I think I've got a new favourite search term on TikTok, and it's 'Filipino Singing' 👏🏻 Which TikToks should I check out next? Let me know below guys! 💜
Hahahaha @MrSammy, that is just a normal sight in the Philippines, karaoke everywhere, every occassion,..not all filipinos can sing perfectly but, so many can sing very well from kids to oldies..😂😂
@MrSammy you should check out next is a group of friends sings LISTEN challenge. Im sure you love it so much . Waiting for your reaction about this . And i really really love your reaction . I watched your videos everytime you upload . I hope my request should be next .
Two theories as to why there are so many Filipinos who are good at singing is because 1. Karaokes are everywhere. 2. No one really shames anyone for singing badly. In the Philippines, you can belt your heart out, even out of tune, and no one would tell you off. Stell, for example, hated singing lessons but would learn songs through Karaokes 🥰
I mean. Judgments are inevitable but we have to be better at singing so our videoke session could pass curfew hours without being reported to authorities. If your voice is good you'll never see authorities outside ur door telling u that someone called a noise complain. HAHAHA
another theory is because of our language, they say our language is sort of musical on its own phonetics and stuff. then because parents see singing as a possible career so it's not discouraged. and also because of our culture. we are culturally musical lovers, we sing when we're sad, happy, bored, when there's a wedding, a funeral, a birthday, a graduation. we have graduation batch songs in all levels of graduation (kinder, elem, high school, college), we have school singing competitions, we have school battle of the bands, our christmas party at home, at school, at work usually includes a performance. we just can't live without music 😂
Additionally, it is because of the Philosophy of 'Kapwa' (togetherness) wherein, we tend to sing because most of the Filipinos did. When you are close to someone who can sing, you tend to adopt what he/she is doing.
Foreigners complain all of the time about noise levels in the Philippines. The three main complaints are the dogs, the roosters, and the bloody Kareoke. You are correct in that average vocalists from the Philippines travel the world to enter Got Talents, The Voice, and Idol competitions and do extremely well.
If you're not still convinced that Filipinos love karaokes, maybe the government's action to ban karaoke from 10pm will make you believe. Without the karaoke ban, Filipinos would sing their hearts out till morning.
One fact why Filipinos are good at singing is that we are somehow trained the moment we start schooling because we are required to sing our national anthem everyday and it is quite in a high pitch so our vocals are exercised well enough to develop into a talent 😊
The lady who was singing “listen “ is Marianne Osabel and she won in one of the singing contest at GMA’s The Clash and is now with that network and a regular mainstay with the Divas of the Queendom
Filipinos, of all ages, love to sing songs which require a lot of belting or high notes. ‘Cuz here in the Philippines, there’s a saying that if you can sing in a high key that means you are a legit singer. Songs of Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Regine Velasquez are the most common ones in Karaoke.
I am one of the few Filipino who is not good at singing but here in the PH you don’t need to worry about that. No one is going to be rude about it specially when everyone is already drunk haha, but really we love singing so much, most party has Karaoke. We just enjoy singing. Singing is part of our culture so at a young age we are exposed to it. There are a lot who works normal job yes cause not everyone wants to be a singer they are just really good at it.
If ordinary Filipinos sing this great, casually singing in family gatherings or party, hitting high notes while sitting, imagine the pressure that professional singers carry! You should also check out why Filipinos are the best concert audience in the world and international artists choose Philippines as part of their world tour. 😊
I read all comments here. No one knows the history of Filipino during spanish colonial. Filipinos started love to music because of kundiman, it is not only for showing emotions. It was also used for communication so that the enemy will not know that they were planning for something. 😂 instead of talking normaly, they sing in harmony... Gladly, I listened to Philippine History wayback my elementary days. ❤️🫶🏻
Believe it or not, this is quite usual in the Philippines. And I can pretty much say, I’m sure most Filipinos would agree, that my idol Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez pretty much started this birit/belting style of singing in the country.
If you are recognized as a popular singer/artist in the Philippines, you must be extremely talented....because ordinary Filipinos can sing very well just like that! Kids, adults, elderly, all ages and gender.
You don’t need a Filipino passport just let him/ her sing. That was true with Arnel Pineda when he applied for a visa at the US Embassy and they let him sing upon learning The Journey group band wanted him as the lead singer. Visa approved 😂😂
That's why Pinoys have a very high standard when it comes to singing. We despise someone who lipsynch and using autotune to replace what their voice really is. You can use it to style your voice but not totally replace it. Theirs always one or two in the family that can do this. A voice that can stop you from using the mic 😅
The young girl singing Adele went viral for obvious reasons. As you can probably tell, she comes from a humble background. Most households in the Philippines have a karaoke machine and that's our vocal teacher, our music room. This girl was singing acapella, in her pajamas. God willing she will continue to sing and be well-known because she has the girt but as you've also seen, we don't lack talented singers, we have an abundance of them but competition is fierce and the most practical ones find another passion that pays and just sing as a hobby.
It’s everyday grand finals in the Philippines.. Mr. Sammy. When you are all done with reacting to these video.. you can proceed reacting of FILIPINO CROWD DURING LIVE CONCERTS.. this is another level
When I was a kid I really thought it was normal to have karaoke’s in every occasion so when I went to US for a holiday vacation, It was hard to adjust to the quiet neighborhood since I was so used to hearing our neighbors literally singing their hearts out at 2am or smth 😂
I think the esophagus and diaphragm of Filipinos are especially created by god to bring out good voices for them to become good singers..most of them no trainings and vocal lesson but see and observe that most of them sings by simply sitting...but delivers the song like nothing happens....simply amazing god given talents for Filipinos....
I can now finally say “Welcome to the Filipino Rabbit Hole, Sammy!” You’re in for a ride.🙂 Not being bias but I can confidently say in terms of vocals, Filipinos are at least TOP 3 in the world. Thank you again for appreciating our talents. I’ll not be surprised to see you learn and speak Filipino in the future. PS: If you want to watch more videos like this, check out Lemuel Llanes and Friends’ “That’s What Friends Are For.” Also, looking forward for you to discover Queen Regine Velasquez.🙂
I THINK I WOULD VISIT IN THE PHILIPPINES 🇵🇭 THEY ARE SOOOO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL VOCAL VOICE AND HIGH NOTES!!! THAT'S INCREDIBLE, I THINK I HAVE A FAVORITE SINGER!! WHEN THEY FORGET THEY HUMAN, OH MY G!!! ❤✨ 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭I LOVE PHILIPPINES, THEY KIND AND HAVE A MOST INCREDIBLE TALENT, WOW! I WANT TOBWATCH AGAIN IN OVER AGAIN!! ❤😍✨
16:30 That song is “Kahit Kailan by: South Border”. That part is the bridge of the song and towards the end is really a high pitch, it should be accompanied by the sound of a saxophone. But amazingly he pulled it off all by himself. We used to play that song in our girl band when I was in high school.
I'm a Filipino and yes, listening to neighbors who sing well during karaoke celebrations is free 😂..sometimes it's enjoyable because the singers are good but most of the times, their voice hurt my eardrums too😂
"You can guarantee that there is one person who can sing?" No Sammy, in the Philippines you can guarantee that everyone at the party can sing!😅😂. Welcome to the Philippines, land of singers!
Part of the reason why Filipinos loves US, UK and AUS singers and bands, from Elvis to Beatles, Bee Gees to Savage Garden, Backstreet to Boyzone, Diana Reeves, Whitney Houston to Beyonce, Bryan Adams to Bruno Mars... Name it. hahaha.. to be honest it enhances our English skills at the same time.
There are local laws regulating karaoke sessions in almost every village called barangays. Sometimes karaoke sessions can be annoying to neighbors thats why we regulate it here. Sing all you can until 10pm only
Love how you went back to rewatch that incredible lil girl. Please react to more Filipino kids nailing English songs (mostly from The Voice Philippines blind auditions). I believe there are a couple of compilations and prepare to be blown away.
Thank you for appreciating the Filipino Talents. We love weekend family karaoke sessions, singing is our main talent, and I hope many Filipinos can share this amazing gift to the world. 💗
I'm happy MrSammy, because I've been watching your vlog for 4 years, now I'm so happy because you've also discovered how talented Filipinos are, especially in singing..thank you again❤❤❤
Hi, Mr. Sammy. This is a fun reaction. Maybe because we are exposed to karaoke and singing growing up. In our family, 70% are singers and if you're not a singer, you can play instruments. Thank you for appreciating the filipino talent. Hope you can go here and experience the filipino karaoke night 🎉
If karaoke is a common thing in the Philippines, well singing is a just a normal past time of most Filipinos.. Because we are not rich but we are more richer in talent and abilities..There you have it.💕♥️🥰😘🇵🇭🇵🇭
The truth behind this talent of many Filipinos is because for every event, birthdays, weddings, or any celebration they always have a karaoke. It has become part of our culture. I mean, It's a normal day in the Philippines.
Hello @MrSammyCam The girl one singing LISTEN while sitting her name is MARIANE OSABEL,She won in a singing competition on Showbiz Industry called THE CLASH shes the GRAND CHAMPION of THE CLASH SEASON 4 , please more Reaction of her ,shes a vocal BEAST 🙏🙏🙏 More of MARIANE OSABEL please 🙏🙏🙏
Yeah you are totally right,,, there's a lot of good singer here in our country, but it's hard for them to get recognize because of the amount of talented singers we have here...singing contest here are insanely hard... being good is not enough if you want to recognize in singing industry here
Most Filipino can sing and we love to listen music it is in our culture to love music even we are young until adulthood. It our favorite past time singing in a karaoke
You're right, we have regular day jobs. This is a common Filipino hobby. It's one of our best ways to de-stress. This and eating wonderfully home-cooked meals at family gatherings. Glad you're getting lost down this rabbit hole 😁
Yeah! that little girl''s voice is amazing, have you ever react to our TNT boys Mr.Sammy?..if not yet try to react also to our talented TNT boys and you will love them..
It's really part of Filipino culture. Singing competition in every local places, city and national level, grade school- high school and college singing competition in every school, local tv competition and international singing feat. Not to mention, that almost every Filipino household celebrate any occasion with Karaoke/Videoke. We love music and we enjoy singing.
As a Filipino,Our country has so much traditions of music.Himig bulilit,Pamulinawen,Bendian and more in our country. For real Filipinos are like that because they are professional singers of Philippines or may be representative of their region as what they do.The Philippine traditions have music and dance which makes us excited and here is a tip, Philippine people for traditions are competitive and the most famous tradition or event for kids mostly is the himig bulilit (Kid singers from any region in the Philippines go to Cebu capital for competition of singers) Here are the tips if you want😊
And may I add, most of the times these great karaoke singers even has that one or two songs which they have mastered over the years that every time they get their chance to sing in the karaoke, that would be the song they will sing and give it their all 😆
Growing up Filipino in California, we had a karaoke machine since we were tiny little kids. We learn to sing before we learn to ride a bike lol some of us came out of our mothers singing a whistle note.
That singers in tiktok are just the few among the truckloads of great singers here in the Philippines..we don't want auto tune or lip sync...we want legit regardless u are in tune or out of tune...
As a filipino my friend you can hear to them everyday.thats why the reaction of most people around is them is just listening on normal days..Thank you for this kind of content.❤
The people you have watch are consider people who can sing but they are not still consider as singers. To be a singer in the Philippines is a bit hard because of the high standards. Based on my own experience every family in the Philippines have atleast 1 singer. In my case my sister and my son can sing but my cousin is the one we can consider as a singer. She join competitions. Every household have a Karaoke machine in their houses. Every occasion is not an occasion if there is no Karaoke. That is why kids in the Philippines learn how to sing in a young age because they were exposed in this environment.
No, its norm in the Philippines, there is always someone in the corner who can sing like them. But as you can see, most homes have karaoke machines, and this is what they do for past times. 40% of those guests can sing incredibly.. Ask one of those Filipino nurses, most of them are probably singing nurses. Its a sport in the Philippines and Congratulations on your growing channel.
9:22 that is marianne osabel, the champion in "The Clash Season 4" a singing competition in the philippines, she is a known singer and is almost always on All out sundays
It's always fun in the Philippines. 🎉 Living at a moment. A 🎤 in hand and a karaoke machine in front, with or without a crowd, we will sing our hearts out. That is how we show gratitude for the life that is given to us and can also serve as a form of escapism for others. Music os therapeutic. ❤
As a filipino, I think we are good at mimicking what we hear and our ears are trained to copy songs like celine dions or mariah carey or just straight up steelheart. That's the kind of western music we often hear and those singers have difficult songs to begin with. That's why even with no formal vocal training we are able belt and sustain notes since the base songs are so high in standard.
not just one in the party but almost 70% will fight for that microphone except me😂 btw, we are 8 siblings and those 5 can really sing, those 2 are so so but me the NO NO😂 but here i am listening to music coz we Filipinos cant live without it ❤
There's hundreds of these videos Sam. So good. I don't have tik tok but there's a new one where there's a huge group of families & friends singing AIR SUPPLY medley.
I think I've got a new favourite search term on TikTok, and it's 'Filipino Singing' 👏🏻

Filipinos are good at mimicking. Singing cover songs a lot were good and some are better than the original.
The young girl singing Adele went viral for obvious reasons. As you can probably tell, she comes from a humble background.
I think 90% of filipino can sing even it's not like a professional way but they can.
Literally everyone i know and myself but still they are very talented and gifted Filipinos🎉😊
Maybe the last one always wins at saying the longest happy birthday. 😂😂
That's. N. O. R. M. A. L in the Philippines!!! most Filipinos can Sing!!!

It's always fun in the Philippines. 🎉
Living at a moment. A 🎤 in hand and a karaoke machine in front, with or without a crowd, we will sing our hearts out. That is how we show gratitude for the life that is given to us and can also serve as a form of escapism for others.
Music os therapeutic. ❤
Yeah you're actually right haha A lot of Filipinos can sing so the standard of singing/singer here in the Philippines was actually high haha
Pitch perfect. Somehow, Filipinos have it while others struggle to get it naturally or have it until they reach a certain age
not just one in the party but almost 70% will fight for that microphone except me😂
btw, we are 8 siblings and those 5 can really sing, those 2 are so so but me the NO NO😂 but here i am listening to music coz we Filipinos cant live without it ❤
There's hundreds of these videos Sam. So good. I don't have tik tok but there's a new one where there's a huge group of families & friends singing AIR SUPPLY medley.
React next to ms. Regine Velasquez. please
