This is like the day I had this morning … at Brighton Dale in Kansasville, Wisconsin
I teed off by myself (everyone else bailed because of the forecast). I played 5 holes and the rain hit. I sat under a tree (like you) to wait it out. It let up a little and I got two more holes in. But it really came down and I bagged it to the clubhouse. I was done for the day. We needed it tho ☔️ We’re in a SEVERE drought. Home now watching a Gen Vlog 👍🏻

Hi Gen. Next up, you should play Crystall Falls. Fun course, lots of elevation change. On #2 you have to walk to the edge of the tee box to even see the green down below. Oh, and on #1 (Par 5) your second shot is blind uphill to the green. Look for a tall red vertical pole in the background that is meant to show you where the green is. lol, otherwise you'll be complaining about not knowing where to go like at Avery. Best wishes.

I a, surprised people are commenting on divots etc... do not worry about comments like that, you are a professional and it goes without saying that your golf ethics/etiquette are also professional.
I imagine the dweebs who complained about that would like an actual hour-and-a-half video showing every single thing Gen does... divot-fixing, ball-marking, cigarette breaks (kidding) and all.

SwingU is a free app unless you want all the analysis. It has most courses using google maps so you can see where you are going and then shoot the distance. I have just been watching about the DECADE system which uses your dispersion statistics for every shot to give you an aim point based on your variance for every club. Apparently it is used in college golf and on tour.

Teravista is pretty fun and little easier then Falconhead/Avery Ranch.... Didn't play it as much I liked Avery Ranch the best but was difficult to find tee times there in the morning.
Surprised they didn't have starter usually they do unless it's just on weekends. I'd also recommend a gps app on the phone playing new courses, helps with seeing the layout

Download a GPS golf app, 2 good ones are "TheGrint" and "Golf Pad" this will allow you to view distances for holes and u can check distances to traps. very useful on a course you havent played before
if greens grab too much have you ever tried taking a longer club and hitting the ball softer to negate the backspin? i understand this may require a great deal of practice and control ...

Do you look at a single blade of grass when you're ball striking? I hope you understand what I mean. And is it ok to lower the angle of the clubs with your hands when your swing? By that I mean a tilt forward so your hands are first going thru the ball? I have just picked golf back up after like 12yr layoff. I noticed my flexiblity is not what it once was, lol. I am much older now. Just trying to figure it all out.

Go play Forest Creek in Round Rock, it has some fun/difficult holes.
I agree 100%. I lived in this area for years and Forest Creek, Star Ranch and Teravista were in my rotation for sure. If Forest Creek is still in good shape, it is certainly worth playing. Forest Creek is a lot more demanding of precise shot placement to score than the other two.

I echo the many comments here. Why not use a golf app to help with distance? If it's just practice for you, it shouldn't matter, right?
