Tom,
I am also a Tom and I want to thank you for sharing your experiences on video. I did the same thing more than 50yrs ago and now the memories and treasures are precious. But I’m from the west coast with different opportunities. Your Tippicanoue bitters with the blown base was heartbreaking and wouldn’t be found here. Thank you for for rekindling the passion I used to feel.
Tom
The look on your face when you pull that Nelson is priceless.
oh yeah, thats tom, im actually his buddy who runs the channel and creates the videos. but yeah i kept that part in bc its a good representation of how i see him when something good happens out digging.. i usually cut down alot of the down time to keep it interesting
Love the "new" format, Tom. You seem a little more comfortable in your narration which has always been excellent. Thumbs up.
That old embossed drugstore bottle got you smiling Tom, you don’t do that too often, I loved it!❤
Sounds like you had quite an audience! Love hearing the old guys and their memories and stories!
I like how you show the maps and tell the history. Great video work brotherman!
thanks man!
Great old photos! That stone building with the arch doorway was a restaurant in the 50's & my maternal Grandmother worked there for an unknown time. As a kid, when we visited, we'd sit on the stools at the counter and I'd order Squirt, which my 13 y/o Granddaughter loves most of all right now! The wooden building with the outer stairway led to the 'Hall', where the kids could roller skate, I attended a potluck once. The stone bank building is just visible on the left, opened on the corner perspective.---Olive sales are still a product of Santa Barbara and surrounding communities!---You do such a good job filling in your sites, even knowing where you dug won't help me much in finding those locations when I get back again! (Where do you fellas sleep when on the road...camper?)
Just found your channel and I’m binge watching you! The way your videos are shot are superb, love the history and the joy when you find a treasure. Thank you!
I'm doing the same thing! 😂 Found his channel and it's relaxing watching him excavate old America. 😊
Very nice that you put the info about bottle on screen in print.
thanks! gotta stand out somehow
Really interesting what you find a few feet under ground! Great job.
thank you!
Hello Tom, you have a really lovely calming aura about you. I live watching your channel, I stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks ago, I decided to go back to where you started. My sisters and I would go digging on an old plot of land where we lived in Lincolnshire UK. It brought back some wonderful memories.
I have been watching your videos and I'm impressed!! Thanks for sharing your adventure with me!!
thanks, its always good to get good feedback. thanks for commenting and thank for watching
That PJ Bowlin single bottle is so cool. I could not even find another image of that guy. Awesome find, Send me some pics of it.
Great job, Tom! Glad to see the old guy workin' a shovel, lol.
You and me both!
I was wondering how many coins you find. That was a great find. Love old coins.
I very much enjoyed all your videos. You’re a true film maker. Wonderful attention to every detail! I’m married to a collector and he makes videos. You provide a true cinematic experience, I’m very impressed!
omg thank you so much.. seriously thats like best compliment i could imagine. im really trying to make this channel take off and thats like a giant boost to my confidence. thank you
I very much enjoy your videos, and love it when you get so excited about a great find,do you collect and resell your finds.
Awesome territory bottle !!
thanks!
I just came across your videos, and now I'm binge watching like crazy. Is there anything you can do with the old broken window glass?
well gald you found the channel! sorry some of the older videos are kind of rough!! and you know, i have been saving all the unbroken panels i find, got a decent size stack of them.. for some reason, i tend to find like 10 on top of each other whenever i find them. its happened half a dozen times now. as of now, i have no plans for them, but i figure there is probably someone out there who would want the correct period window panes.. im sure that not a lot of them have survived to modern day. someday ill find a use for them, if i can even remember where i put them! thanks for watching
Watching your channel is so entertaining and educational.
So cool
What is interesting to me is in a hundred fifty years someone will be digging our pits finding old cell phones and tripping out cause it’s an old iPhone or iPad.. who knows… but this is soo cool to me..
Love your videos, being a history fan I find them fascinating. Hood Company (HP Hood now) is still in business and is in Charlestown, Massachusetts these days. Again, thanks for these great videos!
Really liking these digs🙂👍
thank you! we're gonna work on showing the bottles a little better. some of the upcoming videos are gonna be a few years old, so bare with our filming. gonna get better when we start filming again
all good👍its not the easiest activity to film🙂
That olive oil an applied seal ?? Good looking bottle
I wish you get a small metal detector. You may fine coins. Always enjoy your videos.
Odd question, do you sell any of these artifacts you find? I am totally fascinated by these old glass bottles. They would be great at decorating our home.
Love the sample size whiskeys
That sound kinda sounded like someone in the pit yelling at you ‼️😳 Lol
I find so many of those penny's metal detecting....earliest penny I found was a flying eagle penny in duluth mn
Have you ever tried a potato digger? They have 3 or 4 tangs on them and they work well for us. Good job there digging bottles. Keep up the good work
haha no i never thought of that.. we've been getting a few new tips from people, and we're gonna try some out this summer
Great finds really enjoyed the video
thanks for watching. we are especially glad when another channel likes our videos. thanks for watching!
This has nothing to do with anything but I love the name of the town
Good finding the IHP.. Don't see you finding many coins in your very interesting podcasts..
Great videos, on the 12th one. Where do you sell your bottles? EBay?
I enjoy your videos!
thank you. gonna be alot better when we start filming again in the spring. stay tuned
I bet they never realized the privy they dug in 1800's was a time capsule to the future.
Will you clean found items and show them to your followers
haha yes. we have been adding that to our newer episodes
have you tried growing the seeds?
Holy Shit! A 120 year old full whiskey bottle !!
lol
Awesome video. 👍
thank you!
Super video ☺️
thanks!
You should also have a metal detector you may find coins
Is that your first Dakota territory bottle? A Dakota territory token or bottle is a bucket lister for me.
haha no we've gotten a ton of sodas, and drug store bottles.. yankton is a surprisingly old town, compared to other areas in the dakotas, so we've gotten a good amount.. but that was before we starting filming what we dug
I have several properties in ND that I would like to dig. One is a early 1900 Lutheran church that we own. How do I contact you?
Olive oil was used by the pharmacist in making medications.
Those liquid veneers are all over !! Lol
What do you do with your bottles
Is that your Dad helping you? Maybe he could play his guitar while you dig bottles. 100 bottles of beer on the wall...
Imagine all the pain and suffering that could have been avoided if alcohol remained illegal. 420 24/7/365 and beyond...
Do you sell all those bottles?
What is the oldest pit you’ve dug?
Where's caption?
do you have a store?
Send me some pics of the clean ups on messenger !
You would think there would be many more bromo bottles in a druggist pit...lol
yeah.. especially since the druggist usually sold a bunch of other things too. i suppose anyone who bought medicine just took it home and threw it away there.. i think they may have refilled some of them
I hope that you never run into a sorry bottom feeder named Scott in a white van. He doesn't EVER ask permission, hops fences and takes stuff because he know when they notice someone has stolen stuff, he's 2 states away. I had the bad luck of running into him her in north central Texas
I thought I was deep in s*** anyway if I could add 1 thing A lot of your vids I watch I can't hear you because you're speaking away from the camera also could you please explain some of these things that you mention like tooed top, it would sure help us that aren't actually bottle hunters And one last thing if you have a conversation with your helper that would add to your videos besides just waiting for another liquor bottle And have you ever thought of having a bucket of water with a rag in it so when you do find something really cool you can at least clean it off and get us a better look anyway been watching a h*** of a lot of your videos I used to be a bottle hunter when I was younger still don't mind a good corktop now and then
