My family and I stayed in Chipping Norton for 3 days May '23 from Arizona. Loved it!! Beautiful town and people and the surrounding area was simply beautiful. If we had our way, we would move there.
Hi. What a beautiful place, yiu wouldn't think you where in England so peaceful, gorgeous old properties. You made my mouth water talking about chocolate limes, I love those sweets, havn't had them for ages going to get some soon. Thank you for showing around that beautiful town, I bet Ronnie Barker lived there as well as the antique business.
Truly a beautiful town, I was there for the first time, the weekend gone, and in the Crown and Cushion hotel (seen at 09:50), I proposed to my girlfriend, she said yes. Chipping Norton will now always be a huge part of my life. And my last video was filmed there too! Amazing part of The Cotswolds
That restaurant with the chairs outside, at 1.35 does some good food, at reasonable prices. Also the bakery with the green front, next to the entrance to the Co-op is also pretty good, with a tea room at the back
Delightful place, enjoyed your visit there, we watched it whilst having a light dinner and was far better than watching the depressing news... Like you I have a penchant for almshouses, there's a couple of goodies in Rochester if you're ever that way
Nice video but it's a shame you didn't get as far as the Bliss Tweed Mill. It's a beautiful building that has been turned into flats but was weaving high quality tweed until 1980. We also had the Chipping Norton recording studios down New Street which is now a dentist and proudly displays a plaque to commemorate its history. Gerry Rafferty recorded Baker Street there and it has also seen the likes of Status Quo, the Bay City Rollers and many others walk through its doors. An excuse to visit again for Part 2🙂BTW, the large building at the beginning of the video is the Town Hall; you passed the Guildhall later (Goddards lane)
Hi I mentioned the early birth of my daughter in a earlier post. I spent many Saturday afternoons sending microwave signals to Birmingham from Oxford United for a TV programme broadcast by ITV at the final whistle. We set up a mid point on the local water tower but between setting up and the match starting, we walked around Chipping Norton. On one occasion saw Ronnie Barker lock up his shop to cross the road for lunch. It was just like a Two Ronnie's sketch, lock the door, look round to check the weather, acknowledge any passers-by (me), embark across the road to the nearest hostelry with a purposeful stride, complete with hallmark Spectacles. A really nice memory.
I loved this little town I would love to see where the Holiday was filmed. The one with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. One house is in the cotswolds and the little village.
The Cotswolds is certainly a beautiful area . I tested my driving skills in winter on the snow covered hills . Young and foolish, I say move over Clarkson. Great region to explore
Now have it on my list to visit this year, I must go into the Crown and Cushion to see where why Keith Moon baught it, hopefully for the historic beauty and not the beer.
One thing i always do when visiting a new town is look in one of the estate agents windows just to see what the local prices are like. Then realise i need to be Jezza Clarkson to afford to live there.
Hi, I was in Chipping Norton the day my premature daughter arrived. I was perched on the water tower, roughly behind the co-op,sending a microwave signal for a football match, when I got the news. Quite a day.

My great great grandfather founded this town.

I have been fascinated with Chipping Norton for years. This walk tour is the best one I have seen of the main part of it. Thank you so much.
Thank you!
I'm going back again soon - are there any other parts that I missed that you'd like to see in the next one?

It was a specially made cottage that didn’t exist, and filmed in Shere. Not near the Cotswolds.
@@LoneRanger100 that’s cool. I didn’t know that.
Would love to see Cornwell

Have an aunt and cousin that live here. Visited once a long time ago...
Lived in Chippy all my life .
I think I may have been here. I have worked a variety of weddings through a catering agency.

Ideal spot for a refugee detention centre I should think.

I was going to go and visit his farm shop but don't want to give him any of my cash 🤣
