@@s3eriousbl9ck26 I really like the twilight bow and the antique bow so I will be curious to see how they stack up in the video. I haven't used the great eagle bow, have it displayed in Link's house, with the other champion weapons and Hylian shield, because I don't want to break it even though I know you can get it replaced because, in my mind, the replacement isn't the original, lol. I probably used the royal guard bows the most, though, just because they are easy to come by from amiibos and the castle. I have a couple of mediocre lynel bows....I guess I haven't killed enough lynels to get them to drop good stuff yet, but I kept the ones I have for the multiple arrows. The annoying yiga drop the duplex bows, but they have low stats and seem to break easy on me, but I will keep one if I have an open slot.
This was a pretty nice nostalgia. I can provide a little insight for some of the things. 1:23 If I remember correctly, either the early timings for the languages put them real close, or with all the cutscenes that we didn't know we could skip yet, German was faster. it was probably both reasons though. 5:05 The five arrows are RNG, but the real reason we didn't go for them was because we didn't know about them that early in the game's release. The tower bow and sniping the boko was found in 2018 if I remember correctly. 14:43 The reason he surfed through the steak was because passing the fire resets the freeze time. With optimal movement, you can make it from Cryo to Stasis without eating at all. 19:20 Bombs were considered the #2 rune back in 2017. Even before all the shenanigan discoveries with wind bombs, there was a damage boost players did with the bomb to reach certain high points, and... blowing things up is universally good. 31:21 Any% didn't put the boomerang though its paces until 2018-19 because sva did a lot of work on the damage calculations then to figure more optimal weapon uses.
It's crazy to think about how much we've discovered 5 years after the game has been released and I'm sure we'll find new exciting glitches in the future
I just came across this channel a few days ago - its excellent! It makes me somehow even more excited for the sequel, for the discovery of lots of novel crazy speed run skips. :)
This was super cool to watch! It's amazing to see how much has changed when it comes to speedrunning this game. I'd definitely be up for some more reaction vids like this!
This guy’s 2 months in run in 2017 is better than my 1 month of practice in 2021. Given how many more tricks at my disposal there were, I don’t know if I should be impressed or disappointed in myself.
For those who didn’t ask, I basically wanted to learn the speedrun at a point and learned some routing last summer, got a 39:59 after a month and was satisfied
Love this game to death. Just sorta looked into speedrunning recently, this video is extremely interesting to just see how far it has come and to realize speedrunning is likely the reason for and how a large portion of the glitches we get to see today were built upon and created by this particular community. Great video dude
I believe his strat for the bomb shrine was leaving the bomb at a corner and then rounding it, as the bomb needs line of sight to damage link but not to destroy rocks.
Whenever I show people speed runs of this game, I show this exact run. Even though it’s slower, it’s WAY more hype and impressive looking. So many cool tricks and strats
Nice Vid! I love the scene where you spoke Magnetismus german, but with an English accent and always say that this Speedrun was made after 2 months when the game came out.
What do you think about making a video showing the timeline of all the added starts to the any% run and explaining who/when/how we came up with those starts. For example, showing us when shield clipping was invented and by who and then showing us the times of runs that used shield clipping in them. I think seeing how we gradually got better and better times with newer and better strats and glitches could be really interesting!
I would love to see anything you want to do on the master sword speedruns like the master sword trials. I failed the beginning trial 3 times on the lizalfos floor so I thought I should try to get better at things like spin to win before I try again, but I don't think I am getting much better, lol. I have seen how z couple if people got past the lizalfos with sneak attacks and then just walking around them and repeating, so maybe I can do that. Also, I keep trying and failing wind bombs. My arthritic hands can't seem to mash the buttons correctly so any tips to make those easier would be good. As for this video, it's like a blast from the past. Very fun to see, especially with the amiibos.
Man I watched a commentary by one of the most prominent sm64 "react"ers yesterday, and there was so little meaningful discussion of what we were actually looking at... your commentaries are so much more on point, please keep them coming!
Epona is the fastest horse, she has 4.0 second sprint time per use, all other horses (to the best of my knowledge) only have 3.0 second sprint time. Adds up over time.
It might look very different but at least Whistlesprinting is still a thing. :D Edit: Ikkitrix placed a bomb at the Lizalfos but immediately detonated it. I don't know if on purpose or by accident; I had assumed it was to distract the Lizalfos so Link could run by.
I think plateau went very well with no windbombs no bls slides and no bullet time bounces plus the Xtra cut scenes and unawareness of skipping the monk part and also getting the tower I mean damn good imo
If you can do it in a way that doesn't seem rude, find a smaller streamer with good speedrun knowledge and offer to pay to have their all shrine run edited into a highlight montage. Let them upload it and then you react to that. You get to do an all shrine react that doesn't go on for hours while also helping out a smaller channel that may be trying to build a following.
Actually surprised what they knew at that time. I started playing in 2019 and watching speed runs in 2020 and saw some past ones, but I guess not this early, so was thinking they would just be running everywhere.
28:27 - 28:30 watch the sequence of ingredients. - the menu opens on razorshroom but he doesn’t select to hold then goes to rhino beetle and holds that first but link still isn’t holding anything in hands -it does show 1/5 items being held .. then goes back to razorshroom and holds. Now 2/5 items show held but Link is only holding razorshroom In hands.. any idea why the order he selects doesnt match up to what Link holds in hands and why would he move off razorshroom only to have to go back and select anyway ? His selections go - 1 - rhino beetle 2 - razorshroom 3 - mighty carp 4 - mighty bananas 5 - molduga fin Order Link holds ingredients - 1 - razorshroom 2 - rhino beetle 3 - mighty carp 4 - mighty bananas 5 - molduga fin
Pretty sure it’s because the game has to load in the razor shroom model in links hand and then he holds the rhino beetle right before the other stuff fully loads in so it looks like he holds the beetle first
Bow Tierlist next week by the way !!!
Thank you!
@Waldkraehe ist so ! Frag ich mich auch
Nice!!!
A Quick Shot Duplex is my favorite but Quick Shot Royal Guards Bow or Great Eagle Bow are probably the best based on stats if you durability transfer.

I can't believe he made it from mag to cryo without eating food.
Yesterday I was searching Botw Old speedruns, I can't believe you made a video about this, just a day after I searched it :0
Limcube is Big Tech...he's watching you!
Limcube with another great vid!🔥🔥🔥
@Ethan Benitez Does he have to watch the video before commenting or something? Last I checked that wasn't on the list of commenting rules :P
@Ethan Benitez so? I already knew it would be good because it’s limcube
@Ethan Benitez limcube has the best content so I don’t have to watch it before I know it’s good

This is such a cool concept, I was thinking the other day about trying out the older routes in botw. Amazing video lim! :O
lim your insight is always so appreciated. I love hearing about the history of botw speedruns from you! it's always interesting

Great channel. Great game even five years later!
I can't believe this game is half a decade old already

Every day with Lim is a good day
Really fun video and quite impressive run! Perhaps this is the start of a "botw any% through the ages" series?
Whenever I show people speed runs of this game, I show this exact run. Even though it’s slower, it’s WAY more hype and impressive looking. So many cool tricks and strats
i think he went thru the steak so he could save precious life and heat.

Speedrunning botw has come a loooong way
Lmao at 23:28 he says "aw that's cute!" about the stasis launch 😂
I love your explanations, you do this well. It’s trailblazing 😊
Thanks for sharing this. I don't speed run but I do like watching you guys and getting ideas to play the game.
Nice, it’s really great to see all that we found
This was great! Thank you - and yes, show some more old runs
a lot of this run (especially Bombs shrine) is really impressive.
Good luck on your 999 items run with those sanke carp

So now I need to see every speedrunner do this with every game lmao! Thanks for this awesome video
Never forget the true legend of botw speedruns
Sketodara
Wow botw glitchhunters have done so much for the speed runs…
Great idea for a video Lim! Really enjoyed it.

If this run was 2 months after the release of BOTW, imagine what early vs late speedruns of ToTK are going to look like!
Right???

Early speedruns are basically bug limit because all the newer glitches are banned lol.
these strats are so much more badass than currently
Ah yes, Demon bestie ganon
no way I have been playing zelda for 5 years already
can't be

its already half a decade since this masterpiece came out
When the controller disconnected there that is very normal with Wii U Pro controllers. The randomly disconnect all the time. (17:08)

Verheerung Ganon....?
Hab ich noch nie gehört. It means Calamity apparently.
"I hate horses 2" fab split
einfach unglaublich wie weit dieses spiel gekommen ist
Lim you should do the history of botw 100% speedruns
God vid
The only speedrun I could do
Der speedrun ging eif noch über ne halbe Stunde
Lachnummer heutzutage
Mhm aber aber wie gehts deinem sohn?
I hope BoTW2 has BLJ
If they are going to start the time when it begins, while not end the timer at the end of the credits? haha
This is just a fast play through lol

broooo no way the game came out 5 years ago
What is the best amiibo for any% rn?
Epona is slower but I think gallop
Nice
39:44 did you mean 38:21 ?
It really hurts to see runners have always cheesed Gannon with the spin to win braking his final phase so boring
Hi limEcube
Why is he fighting all 4 blights?

I think so. His accent really sounds like a german one. Me as a german can relate xD.
