Had chills trough my spine, deep into to the soul. My hair instantly stood on end of my head. Saw my parents, at old black& white photo. With me, 2 years old on his shoulder. Her laughing. This song is what's humanity has its best. Insanely good lyrics & score. An obsession to hear it again and again.
Right on, sometimes you have to just pull the car over, to avoid traffic accidents. In the old days, there’d be one, I said, I instantly pulled a U-turn on Lake Shore Drive (which is not actually possible), drive to music stairs and bought the CD, because hearing it made me lose me gd mind!

What a song for the perplexity and dichotomy that is life. Reminisce on the times that were and what can be. Time charges on. A reminder to live moments you'd miss about being alive.
Saw him live yesterday, blew everyones socks off. Thought he'd be a more reserved kinda guy and Poland wouldn't be a very willing crowd for his kinda music but no, fantastic concert and everyone loved it. After the show he just casually came to the merch booth and signed autographs, took photos and talked to everyone. Super humble dude. If you get a chance to go watch him live, go now! Well worth your time.
That was great. It felt like they chased the energy that the band displays during Morby's live performances and brought it to the record. Can't wait for the album!
I'm telling you, the freaking flood gates have opened to a shit-ton of amazing 🎶 🎵 artists I've never seen or heard of before and I AM the biggest music junkie there is. Their just dropping into my 🌏 Now and I AM here for all of it. So, keep'm coming! 💠💙
Just saw the movie Apollo 10 1/2 with my son and now the same day heard this perfect song and realized how similar lives we lived and live even though on the other side of the world no matter whether with bolshevics or Reagan or Havel, Obama, Trump or whoever but with our parents, toys, dreams, photographs and memories. Thank you, Kevin Morby, best regards from your Czech fan! Come to Prague one more time.
No idea who this guy is but this is an absolutely fantastic song. Something about it is hypnotic and deeply moving. I can hear an almost West African influence in those guitar licks as well which is just magnificent when it’s set alongside those scenes of rural America. Great work
I visited Texas while my mother was battling breast cancer. At the time I thought she was going to be okay. It felt like early summer there and it was fall. I came home and she died 2 months later. Idk why this song reminds me of that brief time I thought everyone would be okay.
Sooooo good! the build up is amazing. It really embodied the energy and feeling behind real moments captured on film, the stories they tell, the ability to transport the viewer back to that point in time. Cant wait for the full album! ❤️✌️
Tout simplent sublime. J'avoue que si Mc Do ne l'avait pas pris pour sa pub, je ne l'aurais jamais découvert mais bon, j'aime beaucoup cette chanson alors merci!!!
That second verse is my favorite, of time vs his father… full of Muhammad Ali / Sugar Ray Leonard vibes, the young wanting time to speed up while the old wanting it to slow down and stop beating them up, great poetry
I feel dumbfounded by how beautifully the Tutsti’s sing, and my newly discovered artist through the apple music a rhythm. Go! Yes! So good ty Kevin . Keep it up!
Sundowner was the first morby album I heard and I loved it. Played it on repeat for days, but this…I’m going to wear out entire speaker systems and headphones listening to this
sooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A CLASSIC FOR THE 21ST CENTURY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I first heard this song a few months ago on JJ radio here in Melbourne Australia and it’s hooked me… just heard it again tonight and I love the creeping buildup, terrific lyrics and open, almost loose continuous rhythms. Great song. (I’m 63 years old BTW)
Nothing hits like the first time you hear a song like this.
And yet, it still grows with subsequent listenings.

Came here after listening to the Song Exploder episode on this song -- so layered in sound and meaning, and builds up to the end. Wow!

Energetic and vibrant aproach in a theme that has everything to be melancolic. Eletric nostalgia, very fresh.
Electric nostalgia, nice term!

In a fire or flood, we grab the photographs and run.
This will undoubtedly be used in some commercials and television shows to come.
The sign of success or sell out ?
@@BurmaShane Great point. Most of his songs are odes to death. He often throws occult symbolism into his videos too.

@@BlackHoon I'm not sure, but that's nice of You to say :D best!
Love the rebellious, obstinate tone in his voice. For all the people who think they can help you with an easy fix that doesn't hit the point.
Brilliant Walther well said!
It has such a Doors vibe to it!
Instant classic!
Immense.
