    Nice!
Since I saw Taiwan, actually wondering, could you make a vid on the Austronesian expansion every year? That would be great.
If not, maybe try zomia every year. It’s an odd transition zone that not many covered. You covered the southern part in your south east asianvid but I feel like it deserve its own video.

The Republic of Formosa was founded by Hakka and Fujian settlers from China, whose arrival marked the beginning of dark times for the Formosan natives until the KMT came over.
During this period, there was great feud between the Chinese settlers and aboriginal people. Native headhunters raided Chinese settlements killing and enslaving hundreds, while the Chinese settlers chased the aboriginals up to the hills and hunted the natives for their body parts as ingredients for traditional Chinese medicine.
When the Japanese took over, things changed for the worse. Under Japanese occupation, natives saw several massacres, such as the Musha Incident, which nearly genocided entire tribes. Native men who were once proud warriors were disarmed and humiliated as harsh labourers, while their wives and daughters were forced and pressured into prostitution and sweatshops.

There is currently no Republic of Taiwan in the world.
Except for the “Democratic of formosa” in the film,it is now the Republic of China 🇹🇼.

No,the Democratic of formosa was founded to resist Japan Empire.
The purpose was to gain international recognition and demand the withdrawal of the Japan Empire.
Eventually,Democratic of formosa would return to the Qing Dynasty.

There were multiple translations for "Republic" in the Late Qing and Early Republican era, including 民主国, 民国, and 共和国. The most common translation for "Democracy" in Late Qing was actually 德谟克拉西, though it was quickly replaced by 德先生 ("Mr. De") and finally 民主.
