Congrats on the black duck. They're beautiful ducks and each one is a trophy. They're common here in the marshes of Delaware and they still never get old.
Depending on how far north you go. Generally mottled ducks don't migrate to northern climates they primarily are found along the gulf coast area. If you harvest a black with white baring on the wings it's possible a mallard cross. They are common in our area of the Ohio River.
Absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for another amazing video. As rare as they are, and they are, there’s tons of blacks up here in the upstate ny and Vermont area of the Atlantic flyway. Absolute hogs too!! Amazing birds. Really love how you’ve been capturing your hunts. Intros, b roll, recaps, cooking,…. You do it all and do it well. The RUclips hunting community owes you a debt for bringing us with you to witness things otherwise never experienced. Thank you both!!!
Man, I live on the coast of Washington, haven't seen flocks like that in decades. What an awesome hunt. Congratulations to you both, and extra shout out to Sam for getting the Black duck
Little late now but I’m watching back through your videos after finding you a couple weeks ago. Congratulations on the black duck Sam! I know you see very few in the Midwest. I live in western PA and growing up we hunted all around and in Pymatuning around Linesville. My Dad, his best buddy Jim and I hunted a marsh just across the road from the management area and tried to be the first Jo boat in, in the morning. That was the only way to consistently get a chance at black ducks. So smart and wily, they usually heard us and got out before we could shoot. But every once in awhile we knock one or two down! We never mounted any because they made a mallard taste like a farm duck. Wish I was still young enough to get back into that marsh and have a whack at them! I know they’re still there because most guys won’t bust their ass at almost certainly getting outsmarted by a duck! Great video! So many birds right in your laps! No wonder your pants got tight!! Keep showing this kind of content. I do like em all, but over water the best!
We had them in the saltmarshes of Virginia. Very wary duck...always a prize. I literally giggled myself at the excitement of the hunter who shot it....good footage. Great to see that passion.
I don't know what's better..... watching birds work or knocking them down! What a hunt and congrats on the duck. I started duck hunting with my little brother 3 years ago and we always have fun. Got a really nice banded Drake Mallard with him this year, and he ended his season with 7 consecutive drake limits. It was a good year here in wisconsin.
Congratulations Sam thats a duck of a lifetime right there. I know that they're not super common in Central flyfay so that's dope you got that one. What an epic hunt your friends blew it not showing up
Congrats on an amazing hunt. You guys grind it out with the best of them. Awesome footage of the birds working your spread. Keep up the great work and putting out quality videos.
It’s so funny to watch you get so excited about a black duck. In Vermont we have TONS of them and you can only shoot two a day. Absolutely amazing footage. Great video guys!!
That, was absolutely incredible to watch. Beautiful countryside, a successful hunt, and thank you for the extra footage of just the birds. The noise as they passed over was incredible.
I watched many Duck Hunts and You and Sam have to Best Videos. Great to see two brothers hunting and enjoying life. God Bless!! Can't wait to see more :)))
Originally from Wisconsin but living in Pennsylvania right now and I can attest to black ducks. This summer all I saw were mallards and a few woodies, and then all the mallards seemed to have been replaced with black ducks and now back to mallards. I way prefer mallards over a dumb black duck!🥴
Heck yeah man Black Ducks are a treat. When I used to hunt in the swamps of Georgia, every now and then a Black Duck or 2 would show up amongst the Woodies and occasional Mallards. Flew down from Maine or Eastern Canada I imagine. Just a beautiful and mysterious creature.
Awesome job working the birds boys! I’ve always loved your waterfowl and pheasant hunting videos, by far your best content in my opinion and the reason I subscribed!! Keep it up!
Awesome video guys! It’s kind of funny here in PA we shoot nothing but woodies mallards and black ducks. All the normal birds to you are rare for us. And our normal birds are rare for you.
Been hunting Minnesota for 20 years and I’ve never seen one or heard of one being shot hunting. I have seen one in the boundary waters last summer hanging by himself. Was a special moment watching him I could imagine what it’s like shooting one.
Congrats on the black duck boys. They are a very special duck. We get a few here in middle Tennessee on a good migration but the closer you get to the Mississippi River, the rarer they get. They obviously rarely cross the big muddy so that IS a very special bird. Congrats again and I look forward to seeing the mount.
I really dig how pumped up y'all get for each other. Sam picking out the black duck and being able to reach out and snatch him out of the crowd was nuts. I had my chance at my first last year but didn't have enough gun 😂 I fixed that problem. Good luck this year boys
Dude, that awesome black quacker! That has got to be the most unique color scheme I have ever seen! That bill color is beautiful, in the sunlight it really pops! 👍 😉 Great job with the scouting and the shooting as well! Keep on with the content. ✌️🤠🙏 Always praying for a good safe hunt! Peace.✌️
Brooo! Congratulations guys. Keep up the grind! The grind makes moments like that so much sweeter! Hunts like that are few and far between! A hunt you guys will never forget!
Sam that’s definitely a beautiful black bird that you got there buddy!! Congratulations on your beautiful black bird!! My girlfriends uncle is really really big into hunting and does all kinds of hunts including Africa hunts, mountain goat hunts, you name it he’s definitely done them with some hunts that cost 30,000.00 to 40,000.00$ hunts!!! Thank goodness that he owns two of his own businesses and definitely makes good money!!! He’s definitely worked hard just to be able to do those hunts!! He has mounted just about everything that he has shot!! He did get a bunch of ducks mounted and they are pretty darn cool how he had them done for sure!!
Fun fact, that black duck (like most) has some mallard genes somewhere in the family history, a true black duck will have no white line at all on the speculum. Great kill! I kill a few every year here on the Mississippi flyway.
Hey guys, enjoy your channel, watch it mostly thru my streaming feed , so don't comment much. But when I saw that black duck size, that was cool. I started hunting waterfowl in Indiana in the 70's and we had a property that had two small rivers run thru it and blacks were plentiful, Moved to Central Ohio early nineties and have a couple rivers again that hold lots of blacks late, when the icebergs are floating. Congrats on the shoot, now gotta run, found the X for Canada geese in corn, me and the dog only in the morning, shoot em up.
I agree, that was an amazing opportunity for you guys to get your limit. Great hunt!👍 And the black quacker is beautiful.🙏✌️ Definitely would get that mounted. Peace.
That’s sick. As far as I know they’re pretty rare where u r. They’re everywhere year round here on the NC coast. Can’t wait for black duck season to open in a few days.
I always thought it was so cool to hear the thunder of mallinados, especially when the Eagles swooped in for VA duck or goose in Skagit Bay, when the Eagles came the hunters along the shore's , in field's cooned a few bird's that decided to go feed in the marsh or field's after being poked at by Eagle's, it a fun sight.
Congrats guys! Can you guys make a video on how to do the feed call? I just like the way how you guys do the feed call! Or just a quick tutorial video would be helpful as well! Thank you! Love the videos man!
Props for Brothers showing their love for each other!!!!
Love to see it
Hell yeah
Goals !
All the footage of ducks swirling at the end is basically duck hunting ASMR. Duck hunters would for sure fall asleep to that.
Congrats on the black duck. They're beautiful ducks and each one is a trophy. They're common here in the marshes of Delaware and they still never get old.
It would be a mottled duck with the white though correct?
Depending on how far north you go. Generally mottled ducks don't migrate to northern climates they primarily are found along the gulf coast area. If you harvest a black with white baring on the wings it's possible a mallard cross. They are common in our area of the Ohio River.
Black ducks can have a thin white band and be 100% black duck.
I hunt here in Delaware, I still haven’t shot one. Where do u see them?
@@loug9063 tidal marshes mostly. woodland beach, little creek, port mahon
What a hunt, it’s crazy how black ducks are so rare out there
Yea, in ny there one of the most popular puddle ducks
@@blakepettit8529 We see a good number of Black ducks in CT. Although the past couple of years the duck numbers are way down due to the warm fall.
Love Sam's proud smile
