this is one of the best armored wheeled tanks. its frontal armor can resist a lot of the autocannon apfsds like bmp2m or puma, which will catch a lot of them by surprise when they realize their guns can't do much to you when you charge them front on.

the turret face can stop the APFSDS from the BMP2M even at 0m BUT not the PUMA one, it needs about 500m of distance to stop it.
Only one that can bounce the same or more is the wagen 90
@@noble64115 yes, but type16 has way better FCS, and a much better turret rotation speed of 30deg/sec aced. also at a lower BR.
It bounced my M735 from XM-1 one time xD
I had that issue with destroyed vehicles and not rendering in before, sometimes the game really screws you over
More of an issue is the alive vehicles not rendering in. That happens a lot as well.
@@Piesy001 Yep, seen that a few times as of late. Can't blame it on the player, good on them getting the shot but its frustrating as its another thing Gaijin broke.

I've written this before, but I really hope vehicles like this really make people re-evaluate how overpowered they thought the WMA301 was. I'm not arguing that it should go back down to 8.3, but also nowhere near enough people realized how wildly superior vehicles like this and the Rooikat are over the WMA.
The WMA and Wolfpack are absolute pains to use, RUclipsrs probably cut out dozens of games where they just got instant ammo racked

thing is, they are all vastly overpowered. with it going twice as fast as a normal tank of this br, how do you counter flanks?By the time you have driven halfway to the objective, this thing will already shoot you in the rear. Camp near spawn to catch flankers? cool, now enemy has map control and chokes you out. And unstabilized early cold-war tanks are supposed to fight this monstrosity?
I bought this thing and it’s a blast to use, I would recommend it if your grinding out Japan and for a 9.0 lineup
Japan has good lineups to grind.
4.7/5.0 is fun. Lot's of strong vehicles in the BR.
6.3/6.7 is just simply strong. Big lineup, with lots of guns!
8.0 with the STB-1 and early Type-74, with some R2Y2s.
10.7 2x Type-90 with the Type 16 and the AH-1S
5.0? Chi ri 2? That thing aint fun to play.

After playing both the type 16fp and wma301 I have to say I had a much much better experience with the type16. Imo it’s just a perfect light/wheeled tank good mobility and dart plenty for its br (I take it as first spawn at 9.0) the wma301 is also really good but that poor reverse speed always makes me hesitate to push or be aggressive which is my main play style
the F-16AJ controversy was simply 'Japan never adopted it, so it shouldn't be in the game' from what I understood
They CTRL+C, CTRL-V the work when they could've given us the XF-2A (prototype F-2A).
Additionally regarding the F-16AJ, irl it had working extra missile pylons on the landing gears which gave it an advantage. Gaijin refused to add it in, stating it was difficult to implement it due to some technical bs.

The issue with the F-16AJ is basically that US mains were angry that Japan got a plane which does the same as both of their planes in 1
That together with it never having been taken in service by Japan, it did however exist and Japanese pilots did apparently actually test it.
The F-16AJ is based off of the YF-16 and it also actually had landing gear door pylon's but gaijin ditched that because you could lose those weapons on takeoff if you broke your landing gear, it's a bs reason tbh

On the point of the f-16 Aj the reason it was controversial was because Japan never had it the Aj was the blueprint used to make the f-2 so technically the f-16Aj in the sense of what Japan has is a paper vehicle. Now I personally don’t care to much as it was the base of the f-2 even if it was never made but I can understand why as well again…. It never existed

Fighting this thing with 7.7/8.0 vehicles is an absolute nightmare
lower top speed too, 100+ kmh is easily achievable normally, so having yourself limited, is actually a big deal
imo the rooikat is the best wheely boy in the game then the radwagon 90 but the rooikat would be even better if we had the 120mm version.
How is this thing at 8.7 while the Rooikat 105 got brought up to 9.0 (while being worse allround)?
Because japan suffers, and DM33 105 is really nice.

@@JustinPlaysTV Commander thermals, both thermals at least one Gen higher if not two ... Brittian doesn't suffer (?!?). Although I agree Japan needs more vehicles.
And maybe I'm just having a bad few months, but DM33 doesn't feel as good as it used to be (very bouncy/non-pen).

@@JustinPlaysTV respectable choice as well it's one of the nerfs that nobody has really talked about at least with content creators even though it's such a huge nerf especially for the 4 tanks that are restricted to using it and no other apfsds round at 9.0-9.3 where everything else gets dm33 or equivalent lol

@@CloudyClobain its not broken really, this things shell holds it back quite alot, people underestimate how important the shell and gun youre using is i.e the rooikat firing dm33 at 9.0 makes a huge difference

The Type-16 my favourite wheely boy, but man the FPS is kind of disappointing, I saw some of l_NAMELESS_l's posts about the camo net and ammo set, without the Type-93 it just kills the tank for me, as he said, It's not really a replacement for the Type-74G Kai.
How does Gaijin get people to not hate snow maps? Yep, you guessed it...
Love my Type 16 and Type 74G combo. Got those, but TBH? Not a huge fan of the rest of the tree. lol
It's now the only choice for researching the JPN tech tree…… I suppose that wheeled afv is worse than tracked mbt when you go for researching in arcade mode but slightly better in realistic mode…… But Type74G is not better.
The reason the F-16 for Japan sparked controversy was because they ended up making their own version of the F-16 called the F-2

When you play in one particular area in War Thunder, it's easy to get a feel for each vehicle as there are so few of them, and gaijin likes to reuse sounds for nearly every vehicle.
I see a lot of hackers use this than the wma301 check replays guys cause ai ant cheat really does show who’s really cheating
General dynamics offered Japan an f16 irl and the proposal was there but they never accepted it. They tested an block 1 variant of the f16 i believe but basically the f16 for Japan literally never existed. Gaijin just added an non-existent copy and paste aircraft in japans lineup lol

@@petrkdn8224 because you play 90% VS BR 7.7 8.0. no stab, no thermal, no laser range finding, weak 105mm APDS APFSDS HEATFS. You can take 5 6 shots right in the face.
@Cobra Pirate de l'espace I mean, you can say the same with the tech tree british Olifant Mk2. Decent Armour, downtiered often to 8.0 (it's a 9.0 tank) and you have DM63 and gen2 gunner and commander thermals...
Difference between type16fps and olifant mk2:
Olifant Pros: Can survive autocannons, has surprisingly high survivability, better round, commander thermals are very high above the tank compared to the type16fps , -10deg gun depression vs type16fps's 6deg(same as early soviet MBT's such as T-64, quite poor), Type16fps has a gigantic breech, type16fps has tons of internal Armour which leads to large amounts of spalling
Cons: Type16fps has higher speed (though it's lower than all other type16's), scout drone, LWS, slightly better turret rotation speed, smoke rounds I guess
Now subjective pros/cons:
Olifant mk2 has turret without ammo, having the possibility to not get one shot turret shots from the front
Olifant mk2 additional turret armor is quite thick (volume-wise) so if you peek a part of your turret , they might shoot tou , but not actually hit your crew compartment at all.
Type 16fps has arguably better ammo positioning in hull, if you are fully exposed, you are more likely to get ammo racked to the hull with olifant mk2.
Type 16fps is vulnerable to HE shots, which would then lead to overpressure (one shot) (Pz 4 HE has enough pen to go through the 10mm side armor)
Type 16fps is unsuitable for 50% of matches (assuming 50% open fields, 50% urban) while olifant mk2 can do well in both environments.
Overall, I think 8.7 is fine for the Type 16fps.
And also, non premium type16 (p), is after some comparison, virtually identical at the same BR. Don't know how the premium version is P2W when an identical tank is at the same BR in the tech tree.
Ite like saying the Premium Jagdpanther is P2W while an identical Jagdpanther is in the tech tree.
