    That Skylar is good help and it nice to see younger folks trying to learn for experienced men like yourself! I never knew how you determined what trees to keep and which ones to cut. Great educational video and my wife and I enjoy watching your videos! I was afraid you had gotten hurt since you had not posted a video in awhile. Glad the Lord has protected you and your family! God bless you and your family always my friend!

    Wonderful your back in the game, no videos for two weeks I was wondering if someone was sick or if you had mule problems and couldn't work, but it's nice to see you and Skyler are still in the game, I have a small problem in 3 weekend two wind storms has come through and a rough guess estimate I'm figuring on at 50,000 board feet of spruce down but it's spread far and wide, that means the line skidder the big tractor with the log loader and the small tractor with the winch will be all in the bush and over everything I'm waiting to go for a operation sometime this spring, anyway keep your videos coming and stay safe.

      Yessir you’re welcome! I strive to show to “whole” process behind logging with horses or mules and not just “the mules.” Because there is so much more to it. Fact the mules are just one small part of it actually. So many things have to happen to get the trees from the stump to the sawmill. Anyway, thx my friend for the kind words and also for taking time to watch! I appreciate it. Take care and do come again, please

    Really interesting! I think it's so important that operations like yours. Jim Gordon s and Hitch In Farm here in UK, are economically viable

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад

      Yes ma’am! There is still a place for working horses in this day and age. But sadly, there isn’t the men or women for them like their once was. The animals haven’t changed much. However, people have. Society in general has become lazy. And manual labor doesn’t appeal much anymore. Thank you for taking time to watch and comment. Take care my friend and do come again, please

  • @klauskarbaumer6302

    I sure hope we get to see the mules at your new job. I understand that you leave the younger trees, which in Bavaria we called Zukunftsbaum (tree with a future), but among the other ones do you go by Jason Rutledge's motto 'worst go out first' ?

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад

      Yessir we do make that a priority although a lot of times the “worst” case trees sometimes won’t make a saw log. But it at least gets cut out to keep competition down. And allow younger more viable timber to grow in its place. The mules will be on the job for sure 😉 thanks for always watching my friend! Take care and do come again, please

    years ago when I was in my teens, I worked on a farm, and the old guy told me that everybody signs their name to their work, I said , how's that. he said you don't take a writing instrument and write your name on it, it's somebody sees something you did ,and they ask who did that, and they say so-in-so- did it, for good or for bad, your name is on it!

    Interesting. Did this job come about directly from the work on your father-in-law land? Not going to lie, can't wait to see you get those young mules going.

    • @zachodom7486
      @zachodom7486  2 месяца назад

      Well, sort of. I was suppose to have started this job last summer. But they had to get land deeds in order and such. So it’s been postponed. However, they know me thru my in-laws for sure. So it’s helped me no doubt. Word of mouth travels fast good or bad. I am looking forward to getting my colts going as well my friend! Thanks for the kind words and also for watching buddy. Take care and do come again, please

I just try to support him whatever he decides. If he does, I will miss him for sure. He’s good help and fun to be with. Anyway, thanks for watching my friend and the kind words.
