- In this video we will look at the different careers within the army and how much you can earn if you are in the South African Defense Force.

"The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has released the identities of the three naval officers who died on Wednesday when a wave battered a submarine in Kommetjie.
In a statement, the SANDF identified the officers as Lieutenant Commander Gillian Elizabeth Hector (executive officer), Master Warrant Officer William Masela Mathipa (coxswain) and Warrant Officer Class One Mmokwapa Lucas Mojela (coxswain in training).
They were aboard the SAS Manthatisi.

I have been pleasantly surprised to see that wages are much higher than I expected in SA. Seems that 20,000- 25,000 rand net, per month is quite normal.. This is much higher than many countries in the world.. I guess the real issue in SA is not the pay, but to get a job...

you must take into consideration that they stay at a military base, their dont buy food, they do not rent, dont pay for health care etc
That's a good point, but one of them said they don't have medical aid. They have to pay for their own medicine.
Also I might stay in the military but I still need to buy my own house etc but I do get your point. It's a valid one.

•If you stay in the military base, you're paying rent.
•Most of the payslips reflecting here are not staying in the military base, hence they're getting R1500 housing allowance, they're home owners.

We dont deploy all the time. When we are home, which is most of the time for the most soldiers, we pay the same prices for the same goods that the rest of SA citizens pay. We make a lot of sacrifices that ordinary citizens dont make but no one sees that.😢

That PRIVATE must be very long in that rank..because that salary is very high..Normally that salary is between R8k to R25k

I have a payslip playlist with different salaries, so I go through it, but in summary, anything is tech, and the mining sector is paying well.
Mus the first two they are equivalent to teachers and public nurses salaries. All this time people said soldiers are getting paid well and way better than teachers?

We are not getting paid more then teachers..we only see allowances when we go on exercises or get deployed outside...its l ly then we can afford a car and so on.
Some get paid very well, better than degree caring members.
