Love it. !! That groove, and everyone is dressed so clean. The drummer is amazing

I am a professional drummer (20+yrs) and I just got a Sterling Musicman Stingray SUB as my 1st bass. I saw your video on Stingrays and was doing more research for the sound. On my bass search I went through 2 PJ's and tried a bunch of others. But the Sterling Stingray SUB spoke to me on a random trip to get my PJ set up. I told the tech to stop and I wanted to switch out my bass. She's been with me about 2 mos and she sounds beautiful. I hope to make "Bea Arthur" (my bass, get it? lol) sing like you did with yours. And you have a new fan. Salute fam!

The neck on your Stingray has aged very nicely. They call that look “Roasted Maple Now”. Nice bass and amazing tone. And of course you playing is awesome.

The Musicman tone isn't the same as Marcus' tone. The Marcus tone has that rounded glassy tone you can only get with two pickups. The Musicman has a tighter more abrasive (in a good way) sound - a bridge pickup sound.

John Cha in case you haven't already, please check out *Louis Johnson, Bernard Edwards, Randy Jackson, Tony Levin,* and many many more bassists. They played a Musicman Stingray bass at times or even exclusively.
EQ'ing on the bass and amp, and right hand technique will get you a very close approximation of a Jazz-style bass on a Stingray. It doesn't quite "thump" like Marcus Miller here in this video but I'm sure the cat's amp picked up the slack where the camera mic was weak. The Stingray was and is a very versatile instrument, one of Leo Fender's final and greatest gifts to the low end.

You must always maintain that time and touch with feeling so that there is a perfect improvisation. I congratulate all the musicians because they performed very very well, and also my respect for JOHNNY LONG because I love the bass guitar and all the secret is in our own HANDS. AMEN !

I can't tell what the head is but the bass speaker cab looks like an SWR 4-10 Goliath II. Great sounding cab.

Mine also. Lots of growl w massive low end. Almost reminiscent of Jack Bruce w his EB3 & a cranked Marshall. Or Felix Papalardi or Mel Schacher.
