    Using our Westinghouse Hayden ceiling fan Del Mar Fans and Lighting shows you how to change the frequency on your ceiling fan's remote control. Here's a list of steps to follow.
    1. Make sure to turn the power off of your ceiling fan at the circuit breaker.
    2. Detach your canopy from the mounting bracket by removing all screws.
    3. Retrieve the receiver from the mounting bracket and locate the dip switch settings.
    a. The dip switch settings look like four sliding buttons.
    b. Using a ballpoint pen/small screwdriver to slide the buttons to create a new frequency combination.
    4. Place the receiver back into your mounting bracket and attach the canopy to the mounting bracket.
    5. Remove the back of your remote control and remove the battery.
    6. Locate and remove the small panel covering your dip switches.
    7. Use a ballpoint pen/small screwdriver to slide the buttons to match your receiver's frequency.
    8. Place back panel and remote back.
    9. Restore power to your ceiling fan.
    10. Verity settings are correct by turning ceiling fan on/off.

    I am a 69 year old woman who knows nothing about ceiling fans. I broke my remote and ordered a new one. When it came I expected it to work.....it did not. I knew nothing about setting or changing a frequency on a ceiling fan remote. I did not know they had one. This video enabled me to fix my remote and taught me about ceiling fan remotes. Thank you so much!!!! I give you the highest rating I can 10 Gold Stars

    *Love it! Keeps the room very **Fastly.Cool** . The manual states it comes with a year warranty and 5 year part replacement. The compressor makes the typical sound...small price to pay for AC.*

    Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

    Hi, this video was really helpful to me after we had 4 fans installed that all worked on the same frequency. The instructions were very clear but when I pulled out the little box in the fan to reset the frequency I realised it didn't look the same as in the video, there was just some tiny holes in that spot. After some initial panic I called the manufacturer to find out if there was a part missing. They explained that the box in my ceiling fans has a special kind of memory so I just needed to change the frequency in each remote and pair it with the fan while power was off to all the other fans. It was very simple but I just wanted to let other people know in case they end up in a similar situation and are confused like I was. Our fans are Minka Aire brand. Thanks!

    We just moved into a new condo and the fan light and fan were going on "all by themselves"!! I looked out the window and the neighbor was sitting a room just 25ft away and the ceiling fan and light were on. I think we're on the same frequency. Thanks for this video, we'll be able to fix it in a few minutes!

    • @viningscircle
      @viningscircle 3 года назад

      Definitely my issue. I am in a condo as well and when I had my electrician install my fan I never considered that any neighbor would have a ceiling fan with the same frequency. I guess there is just a default setting (all zeroes perhaps). Well now I am going to fix that by changing my frequency!

    Awesome! My handyman installed a second ceiling fan in my guestroom by the same manufacturer (Minka Aire) and neglected to change the frequency so now it's in sync with the Minka dining room fan. I have a houseguest coming in two days and my handyman can't get back to change it before then. Now I know how it's done and I believe I can do it myself. Thank you so much!!

    • @c.c.barton5201
      @c.c.barton5201 6 лет назад

      Turns out that my situation was even easier. I bought Minka Aire fans and you can switch out the code from the remote without ever having to take off the housing. You just take off the battery cover to the remote, reconfigure the code by pushing the pins into a new pattern and then with the power on, press the middle button of the remote and hold it down for 10 seconds until the fan light flashes, which tells you the code has been reset.

    Our remote stopped working and even after installing a new battery..nothing. Before replacing the whole remote unit, I thought i'd attempt a change in frequency. That's when I noticed the switches were fully engaged at the proper setting. After resetting them, it worked like new. The only thing I could think of is, the remote may have been dropped or bumped.
    Since the battery is very near them, I'm guessing it bumped into the switches at some point, enough to change my setting. So, it may be a good idea to re-check those before buying a new unit. Thanks for the video!
