    Clear and Simple as usual by Simon. And he walks the talk. I like to see that in coaches.

      @@TopTennisTrainingOfficial I just won my 4th singles title yesterday! 2.5 hours and I was down 4 set points in the first set. I won 7-6, 6-3. Feeling good! Tomorrow starts an ITF Masters tournament (same one I won last year). Missing seeing you around Nana! Hopefully soon again!

    Hey Simon, are there players today who play more flat than spin ,because my playing style and forehand are more focused on attacking and being aggressive from behind the baseline.

      Just my opinion,for recreational players below 5.0,going after heavy topspin doesn’t matter that much.
      Because players at that level can hardly produce a pro-level of spin,not to say Rafa-like topspin.
      To clarify,I’m not saying we shouldn’t add topspin to our game,it helps with consistency and control for sure,
      but we shouldn’t be obsessed with hitting every shot with immense spin like the pros.
      Take me for instance,I used to play against a guy who hit topspin loop shot all the time,when we were about 3.5~4.0.
      He spin more than other players I’ve play with at similar level,however it never had the same effect he’s looking for.
      I could still crush the ball with flatter,more aggressive ground strokes ,also the reason why I could beat him 8~9 out of 10
      even when we’re at a similar level.

      @fox - it doesn’t matter what your main game style is, it’s good to be able to hit aggressive topspin for various reasons. That doesn’t you have to make it your usual game, it just means you’re adding another dimension for when you need it. If your game style is an aggressive baseliner who hits flat, keep doing that but work on adding an extra layer to become a more complete player

      @leo - it sounds like that player was hitting sort of guided topspin shots but not really accelerating properly or producing a penetrating shot as I describe in this lesson at the end

      So with the windshield wiper it’s the forearm initiating the swing and not the wrist????

    Djocovic clearly most effortless "efficient" forehand, even more so than federer. In my point of view.
    Nadal looks heavy duty😂 - i'm Nadal fan by the way. But i try to emulate djokovic motion.
    What an era with the big three. They have everything if you want to study tennis technique and mindset / strategy.

    does racket plays an important role for a topspin? for instance i used a 18x20 string pattern gravity pro head racket

      It can help, but the driving factor is technique. I can hit heavy topspin with a wooden racket

    Hi, is it normal for your wrist to hurt at first when you start this kind of stroke?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  5 месяцев назад +3

      No, that’s a sign you’ve either overdone it or you’re doing something technically wrong

      @@Sportsboy-jf1dhI had this problem when I started. If you think your technique is right then either your grip is too small (you need to compensate by holding tight) or your raquet is too heavy -Use Racquets under 280g

    I’ve been hitting high balls long. Driving me crazy.
    Should I hit flat at the apex or top spin? Which way do you follow through?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  6 месяцев назад +2

      You can hit flatter but hit down on the ball slightly, or brush over the top edge of the ball using a lower finish

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  6 месяцев назад +2

      The forearm pronates whilst the wrists goes from a laid back position into a neutral position. If you purposefully keep your wrist cocked back after contact, expect an injury.
