It started in Diamond really, Josuke is still built like a fridge but that's when a lot of the supporting characters like Rohan begin to become Gucci models (and in Rohan's case he literally does model for Gucci in the real world) and stop being just giant slabs of beef with tiny heads and necks wider than their skulls. Then by Golden Wind everyone looks that way.
It's different from his more famous arcs yes, but it was definitely Araki finally growing into his own look rather than continuing to emulate Tetsuo Hara. It was the norm for a lot of shonen action series in the mid-late 80s, wasn't just Araki: look at Kazuo Mafune's Super Doctor K, Kazuya half the time looks like he came out of Hokuto no Ken and even dresses like a wasteland wanderer half the time (Mafune was previously one of Hara's assistants, which is why his art is so on the nose). Giant muscles, tiny heads, that was the style at the time...which amuses me so much that Liefeld doing it across the 90s repulsed us so much

I may die either in the front lines or to something stupid but at least it will be an entertaining ride and I will get to experience stuff new

Although the issue is that on further thought, if you're not sentient, then you wouldn't even be able to appreciate the freedom from human troubles, so there's not much point in doing that. For me, dragon is the obvious answer: powerful, majestic, magical beings that are basically unsurpassed and undisturbed in any environment. Able to live as they please in any form they wish for as long as they desire. At least that's the kind of dragon I've admired since I was a kid lol
