Question about the wiring. Does the ignition switch wire route directly to the fuse box? I think my wire is touching something when I removed my dash on my 84 944. After replacing the speedometer cable the ignition switch doesn’t turn off the the engine.
It sounds like the ignition wire is getting voltage regardless of the state of the switch, so I'd start probing wires from the ignition switch and see if you can find out if the switch is actually switching on/off. I've yet to find a good wiring diagram to work off of, but I'll let you know if I find one!
Same thing with mine. There is only one relay on the whole bottom row and the top is full. I am having an issue with my blinkers they won’t work and I’m missing the relay that is supposed to be there
I always wanted to remove that alarm thing but was too scared to mess with the wiring , who ever did the radio and added that did a hack job , especially the radio , didn’t even want to touch any of that wiring , the dme relay in it is a nice 100$ one that primes the fuel pump faster before start , I did the fuel system , has a upgraded Bosch fuel pump, mahle fuel filter , some new fuel lines that connect them, new oem Porsche fuel strainer , and rc 500cc fuel injectors ! I also changed the clutch out to a satch stage 1 clutch , and I had the rear wheel bearings done , it also has koni yellow sport shocks
Also happy it’s with someone that’s giving it love! Glad I can watch the journey! I did a bit more stuff to it too if you have any questions hit me up!
Nice! Thanks for the info! I haven't been able to have any fun with it yet. I did the water pump, belts and pulleys, but now it's making a new noise I need to sort out, so it's going back on the jack stands this weekend.
Good work that's not for the feint of heart. We are troubleshooting a couple of wiring gremlins on our 944 over here by Clackamas Town Center.
Good luck! Hopefully it's nothing too difficult to troubleshoot.

Can you explain all the relays under dash I’m missing some on my 944
944online.com has relay diagrams that can tell you what each one does. 944online.com/944-relay-diagram.html

Just ceramic coat your window and you don't need windshield wipers
Should have bought a better one. Lol.
