    Thanks for sharing the info on camera mounts. I just finished my first helmet setup for a new channel and can't wait to start sharing rides once it thaws here in MN.

    Thanks for this video. I may try some of those bike mount suggestions. Currently, I use the chin-bar mount on my helmet. Just getting into making videos and didn't like the wind resistance on the side or top of the helmet. I also use a RAM ball mount on the front of the tank (using the tank securing bolts). Those two mounts work for my but again, I am a noob.

      how you like the ram mount

    • @finder216
      @finder216 8 лет назад

      +Mayhem Street-bikes... Ram Mount is very stable, but I have a smoked shield so the camera view isn't great. If I want to give a view of the side or driver (me) I use the Ram Mount, but I am mainly using the helmet mount whenever I want a good camera view of the ride.

    How do you mount the cam in the mouth of the helmet?

    • @MayhemStreetbikes
      @MayhemStreetbikes  8 лет назад +1

      use a go pro mount..then use rtv silicone around the mount to keep it from coming lose

    I have mine on the chin, and I can't see the front of the bike like u and everyone else. and when I tilt it down just a hair. all I see is the bike and none of the road, WTF lol. I thought about turning it upside down. but then it will record upside down lol. not sure if I can rotate the video after when editing it. but is there anything I can do to get it to look like ur does? where u see the bike and the road?

    • @MayhemStreetbikes
      @MayhemStreetbikes  6 лет назад

      dirtyred246 just tilt it down a little at a time then go ride around the block and check the video, until you get it just right. The best view from the helmet will come from mounting it on the side.

      Mayhem Street-bikes I tried it from the side, and the wind kept knocking my head around lol. thx for the info

    Hi everybody can you please give me some suggestions on how to verify with videotape and a go pro hero 4 silver my 1299S when it intermittently and randomly and unexpectedly stalls out? Every time i take it to the dealer they said they can't duplicate the problem and Ducati of North America video taped my bike with no problems. But my 1299s still stalls out on me in congested stop in go traffic all the time and when I feather the clutch and drive between 0 to 15 mph on the street or freeway. However I'm an amateur and I just purchased a hero 4 go pro silver camera do you have suggestions on how to mount it to the 1299S gas tank ? I'm concerned with losing the camera what type a suction mount the go pro hero 4 camera? Should I use the 1 leg big suction cup or 3 leg suction cup or mount the camera on top of my helmet I want to hear the bike shutting down in my video, and I want to show myself stuck in stop n go traffic on the freeway or the bike shutting down on the street as I slow down to make a turn or come to a stop. Or mount camera or under my chin mount? Or on top of helmet mount. I want to see the road speed displayed on the dash to verify the bike stops when I drive 0-15 mph. I want to show the lights going off when the bike shuts down at night when I drive at night. I want to show me pushing the start button and going into neutral gear to restart the bike in the video. What I should I use and what can I use in case the suction loses its grip to keep the camera from damaging the motorcycle and the camera in case it falls thanks advance for everything. The dealer said prove the 1299s is stalling out with video verification because they claim everything is checking out A ok on the computer test sheet with Ducati engineers and Ducati video tape that they won't show me What would you do? Thanks in advance for everything. I have adobe creative suite I don't know how to use it for editing any suggestions?

      Hey Forest, i tried to respond directly to you and was unable, so a
      suction cup mount works just fine.. It wont come loose. My suggestion is
      to turn up your idle just a hair. i had the same issue with my 600 when
      i first brought it home. I took it to the dealer and they ran the tests
      and came up with nothing as well. After i turned the idle up just a lil
      more, i never had that issue again. I hope that this helps out brother

      Kaue Arakaki if your at 1080 60fps you may need to lower your resolution to 720 60fps I had to lower mine then upload them in HD on my computer.

      @MayhemStreetbikes  8 лет назад

      Kaue Arakaki also if you upload then in Sony pro studios you can disassemble/ resemble and it will clear it up

    • @MayhemStreetbikes

      John Kerwin See i do it when i edit.. but most of the time i dont need to.. camera stays pretty still

      Mayhem Street-bikes what software do you use? I'm using a yi cam 4k and want to have stable vids so it doesn't make people dizzy. Cam is mounted on the left chin side of my helmet.

    • @MayhemStreetbikes
      @MayhemStreetbikes  8 лет назад

      John Kerwin See helmet mounted cams always make people dizzy if you look around a lot. but i use sony platinum 12 or sony pro 12 forget which it is . its the upgraded of sony vega. the key is to disassemble and resemble your footage in editing.. it gets rid of that blur you see when you do slow motion and also clears up all footage

      Mayhem Street-bikes i guess i'll have to learn post processing vids. :( what's a good position for motovlogs?

    • @MayhemStreetbikes

      PedalStrapped yes some i do.. but even pro version software cant get all the shakeout .. you need to stabilize your mount.. i remounted my cams multiple time before i got it right

    Motorcycle mounted is more stable than helmet mounted! Front and rear facing cameras at the same time gives you more editing options.

    Great video, thank you. What camera do you prefer to use the GoPro or the Drift? My personal favourite is the Drift.

    does removing the mounts ruin the paint on the bike?
    also, what do you do to record your voice when riding ?

    • @MayhemStreetbikes
      @MayhemStreetbikes  8 лет назад +4

      Dave Almeida no the paint will be fine, use dental floss to get under the mount and a cleaner like goo gone .. then wash.. as for sound.. take a mic and mount under seat, it gets rid of the wind rustling and you hear the engine.. if mounted to your helmet, run it inside the padding
