Can’t stand new announcers. They can’t SHUT UP! Vin allowed the audience to participate in the celebration, simply by being quiet. The new dudes? Forget it.
I never knew that story about Mr. Scully and the Robinsons going skating years ago. It such a funny story and what Mr. Scully said that the number 42 stood for quality and opportunity. Well said and thank you for the story Mr. Scully.
I also remember Ken Griffey Jr. wearing #42 on April 15, 1997 game. Ten years later, he asked Rachel Robinson's permission to wear the number for the April 15, 2007 game. And now every player wears #42 in all-star games.
Hey consider myself the luckiest man on Earth for many reasons :-) but also I'm the luckiest man on Earth because I got to share my evenings as a teenager and young man with Mr Vin Scully. Many blessings and God bless to you and all you love :-)
Scully is one of the best at story telling. I remember hearing a Dodgers game on the radio (vs. the Pirates, I think) and Scully talks about Mario Mendoza "the Pride of Chihuahua" - just a regular game and Mendoza was an everyday ballplayer (this was before George Brett's comment that he was hitting below the Mendoza line).
I love that Vin Scully told the ice-skating story about Rachel with her sitting on the stage next to him with a big smile on her face. They are both beautiful people.
Imagine being one of Vin's grandchildren hearing him tell baseball stories before going to bed. "Do another one Grandpa" ... "One more please?" ... "One more pleeeaaaseee" .... (Keep repeating with more E's)
We still miss you Vin. Dodger games ain't the same without you calling the action.
Tom Han definitely, he has the best voice in all of sports
@@pitcrew8662 Definitely.
