Hahaha yes! I moved to San Antonio and everyone asked me where I was from. I supposedly didn’t have an accent but now when I go back and visit El Paso, or am around all my friends from there, it’s as clear as day. 😂🙌🏼 but I love it. Mine has kind of gone away a bit, still love it though.
denise tellez I don’t know how to explain it. I used to have the accent but since I moved to California at 13 I guess I lost it. My brothers and sisters pretty much still have it but they’re much older than me. When I hear Les and Alex I feel like I’m back home and feel warm inside. I’m now a white washed native girl from Ysleta since I’ve been here in Cali for over 25 years. I ❤️ the accent of Spanglish from El Paso. Be proud of it girls. Also I can’t say it’s Chicano because here in San Diego people speak Spanglish too but without the cool El Paso accent.
