    From Nomadic Steppes must have are: Roxolanoi Haploi (Roxolani Levies) (max 8) and Paya Hinam Dunai Purma (Subeshi Archers) (max 8) . Both are very good even after last reform. From Gedrosia, Aria & Bactria: Thureophoroi Indohellenikoi (Indo-Hellenic Thureos Spears) (max 4) and Kamboja Asvaka Ksatriya (Indo-Iranian Light Cavalry) (max 6) are awesome. Dhanurdhara (Indian Longbowmen) (max 4) are like Subeshi Archers. But are much better in melee.

    • @dreadgray78

      Agreed, Indo-Iranian Light Cav are disgusting, they can 1v1 much heavier cav and crush shock cav if they don't get charged. Have taken out a parthian general unit with them.

  • @cerdic6586
    @cerdic6586 8 месяцев назад

    My favourite AoR unit has to be the Apulii extraordinarii. Beautiful armour/shields, staggeringly high melee defense for a sword unit, and an interesting bonus vs. infantry of 2. Quite mediocre melee attack of 11, which makes them a slower killing machine than some other assault troops; but their durability is not to be underestimated. As Epirus, I used them as a hybrid attack/defense force on the left flank of my phalanx, who would absorb and repel flanking enemy infantry, before mounting their own flanking manoeuvre on the enemy line with the support of agrianian peltasts and shock cavalry.

    Great guide as always my man! Question: I'm playing as Rome and currently in Marian Reform, like turn 125, with Taras level 3 but I can't recruit Apulian Heavy Infantry. Is it bugged or locked behind Imperial Reform?
    Suggestion for video: Roman Auxiliary Units, best/worst etc. For someone new (like me) neither me nor my mother knew about Belearic Slingers for example ;)

    • @Immersaholic
      @Immersaholic  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks very much mate! Those Apulian troops may be locked behind a reform for you. Although I thought they were an early game unit, early game units get left behind after some reforms occasionally so that may be the reason. I’m honestly not sure why you can’t see them. You might have to check the yellow immigrant building chain if you don’t see it in your main town center building
      Thank you for the suggestions too!

    And the most important thing was not aired in you guide. AoR units are drawn from Foreigner's pool of inhabitants. These units must be the ones who are suffering the most casualties in your offensive battles. So these units are in those armies, who are at the tip of your spear, getting you new provinces. Usually on turn 2 after capturing a region these armies get some replenishments.

  • @tillercaesar-kq4ou

    Can you do a vid about building effects. Like sometimes i leave buildings of a different culture in a town I take and i can still recruit units and I get the effects seemingly. Recently I took part of sarmatia as Rome. I left the main building as nomadic so I could regular sarmatian cataphracts then once I reached the limit like 5 or 6 units I converted over to a Roman village so I recruit more of cataphracts but these were (romanized) with slightly worse stats but still good. So I could fill out more than 2 armies cav component with cataphracts. Then I converted to a Roman kingdom and had my Rex return to Rome and he got a Triumph lol.

    • @Immersaholic
      @Immersaholic  Год назад

      I can definitely try to cover the noteable effects. There are thousands for effects so I couldn’t cover them all but at least unique ones or a general guide

    • @tillercaesar-kq4ou
      @tillercaesar-kq4ou Год назад

      @@Immersaholic yea like the mechanics possibly, idk I was just confused because the little alert thing on buildings of a different culture say you won’t get the effects or something but they still seem to provide food or happiness or whatever the building is. I think they increase the old culture population tho rather than your own so that is a negative
