T. Andra Brad Delp, Sib Hashian, Barry Goudreau, and (sometimes, most early footage I’ve seen) Fran Sheehan all sang for that beautiful harmonic vocal sound live! Even Tom Scholz had a mic and would join in on some of their choruses live, like “Party”. I still maintain that the original Boston lineup selected to reproduce those amazing Scholz studio recordings was one of the most talented line up of musicians! Their live guitar and vocal harmonies were SO GOOD!

But those riffs, to see Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl play those together, especially the last time through. I mean, just unbelievable, takes you out of you body really, you don't want it to ever end...ever. I think they know that's what it does. Wish they were still touring. Great tune.
Those harmonies are all one man, the late great Brad Delp. Early in his career he performed in the original Broadway production of "Hair". Your next Boston reactions should be "A Man I'll Never Be" and "The Launch / Cool the Engines". Thanks, Jamel, and keep it going!
Once again for this second album, Scholz plays most of the instruments and it was recorded in his home studio. Still there's more tracks with other band members this time around. I really like the title track "Don't Look Back".
This album came out in late 1976, I was a senior in high school. Every song was a hit. I didn't know any of my friends who did not have this. Killer music!!
My dad graduated high school in 76 and is a guitar player. This music has been with me in utero! It's part of me, even though I was born in 84. It's great any time I hear it. I can conjure up a snapshot of just about any point in my life and Boston and other classic bands are right there.
The first time I heard Boston, I was about 15-16 and I was completely blown away by their musician ship. I have nothing but great memories when I hear Boston. Yes I am satisfied!!!
Can you imagine growing up when Boston is dropping these bombs, Zepplin,Floyd, Rush, Sabbath, Seger, Arrosmith, Jgiels, Cooper, Stones, Faces, Who, all dropping their own bombs at the same time. Can you understand why kids my age had a certain expectation for music the those who came after for the most part couldnt keep up with.
I was fortunate enough to have seen Boston live... that guitar / spaceship came down as they were playing. I also saw Parliament Funkadelic.... also arrived in a spaceship. I'm old, but I wouldn't change a thing because I've seen the best of the best.
The golden voice of lead singer Brad Delp. Brad took his life in 2007. Tom Scholz (guitarist, songwriter, and leader of Boston) said that Brad was one of the kindest and most generous guys he ever knew.
I was driving a 1969 Super Bee 4 on the floor with a nice built engine. In 1979 listening to Don't Look Back album. I was 17 and had the fastest car in high school. Those were the times. Such sweet memories. Feeling satisfied...
Something in the water back in the 70's....albums full of many, many great tunes:Ted Nugent, Bob Segar, Boston, Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Queen, Van Halen, Journey (pre-Steve Perry too), Santana......
Good point on the harmony. Boston was one of the first bands to incorporate such intricate harmonies not just with the vocals, but with the guitars. Tom Scholz was a true genius from MIT. I recall my first listen of Boston 1 in high school and I instantly loved it.
A big part of what you’re enjoying about Boston is the result of meticulous engineering and perfectly mixed tracks.... this is why it took Tom Scholz forever to produce 3 albums and the record label threatened to sue him unless he fulfilled the contract.
That whole story behind the lawsuit is an interesting read. There was an unofficial Boston website that had a lot of information about it (I don't know if it's still around or not).
This is easily my most favourite Boston song (tied with "More Than A Feeling"). It was also my first introduction to them many years ago. My friend Charles had it cranking on his boom box while we were off to the beach in his pickup truck with the rest of the gang. I was like "Damn! Who wuzzat? Let's hear that again!", and soon afterwards I ordered both Boston albums that were available at that time. Even on a boom box it sounds great! And the track always brings back good memories whenever I hear it.
J....you have no idea how much joy it puts in my heart to see people come into the fold as a fan of Boston, discovering the incredible sound of their work. You have no idea...and I have no words to express it...other than to say welcome to the music of my youth, and the music I still love. Enjoy.
Boston, 1978 St. John’s Arena, Columbus, Ohio. My very FIRST rock concert. Tickets 6.50 each. Not a bad song the whole show and they brought the arena DOWN. (It was Ohio State Homecoming Week too so they had OSU banners hanging off the ends of their guitar and bass. Some of the greatest harmonies I’ve heard since. What a band. RIP Brad Delp (lead singer) although Tom Scholz was right there with him. I know I was Feelin Satisfied after that show! Semper Fi ams rock and roll!
Got lucky to see them in concert for the 4th of July in 1995 Dallas Texas . It was great Warrant was their opening act . Great band always liked Boston. A guy I went to high school with, all he talked about was going to Boston University after High school ( La Porte Texas ) I hope he got to do it , probably the biggest Boston fan I have ever known .
I'm sad for those who didnt grow up with this rock and roll. Too many have missed out on great music. Thanks, Jamel, for doing what you are doing to reintroduce it to another generation that needs it.
This was basically all Tom Sholtz.. with Brad Delp on vocals... but the genius is Tom. The guitar effects, all instruments, song writing, recording, mixing.. pure genius.
Thank you... this is such a great tune, by a phenomenal band. Almost all of their songs are uplifting, and make people feel good inside. That's one man doing both the singing and harmonizing, and that is the late great Brad Delp.
Jamel aka Jamal, I I really enjoy your reactions to “Feelin’ Satisfied!” This is a great song for a dreary Monday morning! Instant mood change! 🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵🎶
Again, using my wife's account to reply, it's Jeff. I know that Steve Perry is referred to as "The Voice", but as much as I admrie Perry's vocal talents, Bradley Delp is the voice. Geez, could that guy sing. And as someone else pointed out, all those harmonies were him singing with his own vocal tracks on the album tracks.Kudos to Barry and Fran if they did it live, but studio? All Brad. Nobody, could sing like that. Nobody still can IMO. So clean and powerful. Was so glad I finally got to see them in college for the Third Stage tour. Amazing.
Jamal, all these songs you review, ust imagine cruising around in a Chevelle or a Camaro or a Mustang or GTO back in the 70's and these phenomenal songs blasting out of the dashboard. That was my life. I still contend that we children of the sixties and seventies had the best music. Everything from R&B, rock and roll, soul, blues. Musicians just cared so much more about the music back then and it shows.
In my opinion this was Boston's best song, a freakin' masterpiece!! It's so cool to see the younger generation checking out music when it was kick ass and had rhythm, harmony and beat. Every time i hear these kids going down the road BLASTING their shit rap i say "Where the f##k's my shotgun so i can blow their damn speakers up?" But Tupac's California Love is also a rap masterpiece!! If all rap sounded like that, i'd be a huge rap fan!!
I love when people discover just how incredibly gifted Brad Delp was. A man whose vocal talents should have had his name known with the likes of Freddie Mercury, even if he never really wanted that kind of fame.
Brad Delp sang the h3ll outta these songs... multi-track of just Brad's magic voice but no auto-tuning in those days! Just Talent! I did get to see Brad in the early 2000s - Thank the Lord. RIP Brother Brad. As Jamel_AKA_Jamal says, "Beam me up Brad!" 😏
I want to thank you for bringing all of us together. Every time I watch one of your amazing reactions, someone suggests another great song I forgot. Like Atlanta Rhythm Section - Spooky and then I'm off to the "way back when"
Jamal, All the vocals are by one man Brad Delp - lead and harmony vocals; layered and mixed together in Tom Scholz’s basement studio. This was amazing especially back in 1978 for a band to record and produce their own music. Like their debut Simply another groundbreaking masterpiece, we will never see the likes of such talent again. Please Listen to the Title track "Don't Look Back".
Very rare, but possible, to find anything live from this album's era. Really is a shame Brad Delp, the amazing lead, is gone now. His voice was truly touched by God and he was generous enough to share it with the world. Saw them in 2004. Left the experience more spellbound than ever!
This is the kind of music America needs right now.

My dad graduated high school in 76 and is a guitar player. This music has been with me in utero! It's part of me, even though I was born in 84. It's great any time I hear it. I can conjure up a snapshot of just about any point in my life and Boston and other classic bands are right there.
Their debut was 1976. This is their second album, Don't Look Back, and it came out in 1978.
@@CamiMack5616 you are correct. Thanks for setting me straight 😉
If you like Boston, you will love The Triumph song Magic Power. Give that a listen.
Triumph has a ton of great songs
Hell yes!! 😊🥰
"Lay it on the line" 🤙
Fight the good fight. Great song. Great guitar. Great vocals.
I am dying for him to get in to Triumph - one of my favorite bands!
Not a single bad song in their entire repertoire!
Great lyrics and harmonies!
And could they play those instruments!
WOW!
Love this song! So smooth!
Watching you discover these songs gives me a whole new appreciation for the music of my youth. THANK YOU.
Don"t Look Back from the second album!!!!!!!
Probably my favorite Boston song.. Boston! 100 Percent Guitar Driven Rockman Powered Rock And Roll!!!
One of my favorite Boston tunes. They are Excellent live!
DUDE, THIS IS LIKE ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS!
Boston is pure magic!! They ought to be in the rock -n- roll hall of fame.
What a band Boston really is the harmonies are amazing. Brad Delp what a voice r i p Brad, they can really rock, quintersenshal rock n roll man!!!
Something in the water back in the 70's....albums full of many, many great tunes:Ted Nugent, Bob Segar, Boston, Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Queen, Van Halen, Journey (pre-Steve Perry too), Santana......
Yep, good stuff I grew up with in high school, playing drums. Still love it.
One of the best good feeling songs ever by one of the best bands ever! Never heard a Boston song I didn't like!
Good point on the harmony. Boston was one of the first bands to incorporate such intricate harmonies not just with the vocals, but with the guitars. Tom Scholz was a true genius from MIT. I recall my first listen of Boston 1 in high school and I instantly loved it.
A big part of what you’re enjoying about Boston is the result of meticulous engineering and perfectly mixed tracks.... this is why it took Tom Scholz forever to produce 3 albums and the record label threatened to sue him unless he fulfilled the contract.
kenrizzo1962 they were awesome live
That whole story behind the lawsuit is an interesting read. There was an unofficial Boston website that had a lot of information about it (I don't know if it's still around or not).
The second album was delayed by his invention of the Rockman
Harold Bourgeois yes they were.... I saw them at Madison Square Garden when the first album was released in 79 I think.
kenrizzo1962 76
A great rock band with harmonies, a rare combination and it works brilliantly.
I absolutely LOVE This Song, and I Really Enjoyed Watching You Hear This Song My Brother. God Bless You Bro. That Was Great !!
Watching you grove to 40+ year old stuff makes the music fresh to these old ears. I was 10-11 when I got the first album.
Boston - 'It's Easy' is another great song by Boston. Same album as this one.
I saw Boston Live in 1977. Fantastic show. Now I’m inspired to go watch some live Boston videos.
Boston got me through the worst times of my life. Just to see you loving it makes my day!!! Love you bro!
J....you have no idea how much joy it puts in my heart to see people come into the fold as a fan of Boston, discovering the incredible sound of their work. You have no idea...and I have no words to express it...other than to say welcome to the music of my youth, and the music I still love. Enjoy.
Jamel you perfectly described their ability to harmonize so incredibly well. Thank You !!!
Harmony central. And the album and cover are priceless.” Put your hands together.” ...mantra for the ages with them.
👍🙌 “Tuesday’s Gone” By Lynyrd Skynyrd” 😎🎧🔥Thanks Jamal! 👍
This was basically all Tom Sholtz.. with Brad Delp on vocals... but the genius is Tom. The guitar effects, all instruments, song writing, recording, mixing.. pure genius.
Hey man, I'm so glad you checked this out. You reacted just at the break part s I thought you would! Cheers! 👍👍
KANSAS....."Carry On Wayward Son".... can I get an "AMEN?"
I think Boston will sing this in heaven. The good Lord gave the talent and they lift us up! Thank you Boston for music that lifts the soul.
Do “We’re Ready” by Boston.
I never knew what it meant to "keep your harmony".
I never knew what "silent harmony" was.
THEN CAME THIS BAND.
I'm surprised nobody requested Let Me Take You Home Tonight by Boston definitely one of my favorite songs by them!
You always feel good when you listen to Boston. Something about it makes you happy!
I've always said Boston have the voice of Angel's...their voices are so Angelic 😇
Agree, this is probably Boston's best harmonizing song, which they harmonize among the best. Imo, perhaps ELO and Boston harmonize the best.
Love Boston! Summertime cruising music!! Wonderful Memories!!!
Amazing.
Love this song so much. It is still kinda fresh because I have not heard it a million times like all the songs from the first album.
Impeccable harmony. These guys are masters. Kind of like the Beach Boys used to be. Absolute masters.
My favorite song by one of the greatest Rock n Roll bands of the 70's.
Watching you Groove to this rock and roll makes me smile. You really feel your music no matter where it comes from. You are a true master
Don’t worry man the younger generation still listens to the classics
Their music gives me the chills EVERY time!! One of my favorite bands😎
Haven't seen anyone recommend "Let Me Take You Home Tonight", but that's one of my favorites.
Please do billie holiday strange fruit
Bass, Harmony, beat and rhythm. This number Strut's with attitude!
I love that you young man, are taking the time (and diggin on) MY music! I am a child of the 60s and 70s..best music ever
First watched this video 2 years ago... I keep coming back. This is how everybody should feel. Peace everybody 🤙🤙
Nothing like their style and simplistic way to not feel like it’s stressed! Just roll on!
Jamel listen to a man ill never be its truly awersome!! This is Boston quintersenshal rock n roll peace out ✌️✌️🎶🎶👍👍🎼🎼🎧🎧.
I want to thank you for bringing all of us together. Every time I watch one of your amazing reactions, someone suggests another great song I forgot. Like Atlanta Rhythm Section - Spooky and then I'm off to the "way back when"
Boston always had a way having these elegant musical themes mixed into straight ahead rock songs... high end stuff.
My fave Boston song right here. So glad you did this one! You should also do "Man I'll Never Be" by them.
what I like most about music from the 80s is that it is upbeat and makes you happy. Can't say that anymore. Grunge came in and murdered happy music.
Boston can never be replicated Never saw them live.
Very rare, but possible, to find anything live from this album's era. Really is a shame Brad Delp, the amazing lead, is gone now. His voice was truly touched by God and he was generous enough to share it with the world. Saw them in 2004. Left the experience more spellbound than ever!
