The short version is that James Cameron got his composer to try to make a soundtrack comprised of a tribal like vibe that no one has heard before. He put it together, hired a expert who studied sounds between different languages. Presented it to Cameron who threw most of it out cause he said it was a sound he never heard before. The Horizon soundtrack sounds very close in style to the thrown out score of Avatar.

You only have to go as far as like Jedi survivor or fallen order or starwars squadrons and I’m sure there’s a few other examples
