Thanks for the vid. I'm in Utah running the shinko 525, a bit too soft for the rocky stuff. Looking at the 505 or the tusk. Rocky mountain doesn't sell the 505, probably because it is so similar to the recon that they would rather sell their own tire.
Stoked to try this tire out. I just put up a video of it as well, wish I had a fresh shinko 505/525 to compare it to but all mine are blown out. I did have a irc ve33s though
Jason V actually I still have it on (didn't ride much through winter) but it's pretty shagged now at 30 ish hours but I'm cheap and it's just dry and rocky where I ride here in Colorado so tractions not as hard to find as it is in mud so I’ll probably go another 10 hours on it. I just trail ride but I’m a washed up A rider so harder on tires than most probably and I’ve done quite a bit of road miles on it ( couple of weekends in Moab etc) so I think it’s lasted really well. Especially for the price.

What’s funny is that is exactly the last 3 tires I have used. Been running the Tusk for the past 15 hours
How many hours did you get on the tusk tire before you threw it out?

Curious who's producing these tires for them.
I haven't been able to figure it out, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was shinko.
@@gtluke4939 That's where my guess is as well.
I've heard too much about them being too tall and throwing gearing and bike geometry off. It looks way taller.
Good tire but lacks in braking for sure
Is the tread spacing the same on the recon as the 505?
It looks taller then the shinko 505 or is it just the angle of the video??
Hard to beat the Pirelli
