So great to see this. I’m from the Netherlands and it was a great hit over here. I have all the books and dvd’s. Currently all the episodes are shown on Dutch television. Watching Flying Doctors made me wanting to be a nurse and I became a nurse. Even after all these years it is so great to watch this program. ❤
I've just rewatched the whole series in Belgium. I'm 50 now and was a teenager at the time. It's pure youth sentimentality to me. Now my own daughter is enjoying it. I've got so many fond memories of it. Every Monday it was the first thing we discussed at school. I liked the whole cast, but Tom and Chris were always my favourites. It was no wonder it was very popular in Holland, as we watched along with the Netherlands in Belgium. We had our own channel showing it, but they were always one week behind, if I remember well. It's great to see you're all still friends and you're still looking great.
Such a beautiful show. Fantastic cast & full of heart & humour. It captured the rural Aussie spirit. Wish we had great things like this still being made.
I had just returned to the Netherlands after living and working in Australia in 1984-1985. As I always felt so much at home there and was missing the place and my relatives in Sydney, I watched every show from episode one. Still watching the reruns at the mo.
I met Robert Grubb many years ago, when he was staring in the Melbourne stage production of ‘Mamma Mia’. A very nice man, most approachable. Indeed ‘The Flying Doctors’ was a great show and very much worth watching.
Love that they asked Lenore and Andrew for this interview (Lenore is my fav actress❤)! My mom introduced me to this show 13 years ago and still love it to this day. Hope that now more of my age get to know this amazing show. Btw, Alex Papps was really in character 😂 he just popped up out of nowhere and I was like 'no, no, i wanna hear Lenore, not him!' Hahah always found his character Nick so annoying
Yes! From germany I’am à Great flying doctors and Brett Climo Fan! Best series ever! Ever! Great actors ! Great Location! Wow! Lovely memories! We have a nice Fan Club in Germany in Münster ! In this times of war in Palestine and Ukraine so much sadness It’s good sometimes to escape the reality Thsnk you! Love you all!❤
I watched this faithfully when I was younger, it clashed with sunbeams on a Tuesday night, so id always have it recorded for me. The only time not one single sunbeam went to sunbeams is the episode when dr tom left..we were all too busy watching it crying like little sooks.. Fast forward to two years ago, I bought a house about forty five years from where it's filmed in Minyip. Was delighted to score an airlift for Emergency surgery in Melbourne during covid..the little plane was amazing, but the nurse all dressed up walking towards the ambulance with them big shiney tom cruise glasses sure was a sight for sore eyes, but bugger I spent the entire ride hurling and throwing up, desire being given drugs to stop it..
Goddamn, how attractive is Andrew McFarlane then and now? I mean, pretty much every video that has him has a lot of comments saying how handsome he is. I was surprised to find out he’s in his 70’s, he looks so much younger than that, mid to late 40’s maybe.
Not at all. The RDFS is government funded and accepts bequests, corporate and private donations and fund raises. It has 79 aircraft and many land vehicles and ambulances across the country. Australia is part of the British Commonwealth so many large older established organisations have had 'Royal' at the beginning of their names, like capital city hospitals, but not any more. The RDFS was established in 1928.

Yes I know it was popular in Sweden 🇸🇪! Do you have the boxset of all episodes?

I used to watch this when I was growing up in Zimbabwe, loved it.
Well - I'm from Denmark - and I loved the show as well.
I learned a lot about Australia, that I didn't know.
Happy anniversary!
I wish they'd show the flying doctors again. I loved the series.
So do I, even if on Britbox better than nothing x
@@annamcuthbert3993 all episodes are on 9now
It's on Dutch television again ,(2023), and still great
If I had The Flying Doctors on DVD, I'd only be allowed one season of it, & that's Series 4 from 1989.

I love Lenore 😍😀
why is it royal, do they give money?
