For the name, the last one was Origin Story, so these are the next ones, aka follow up so Next Chapter in the Spider-Man sneaker story, so completely makes sense. As for the mix of materials and patterns, the plot of the movie is going through all kinds of animation styles and Spider-Man universes, so they are taking multiple textures/animation styles and mashing them into one like they are in the movie. So the shoe design concept makes 100% sense.

Got mine yesterday. Amazing shoe. The first one was extremely safe with basically being a Chicago 1 with the speckles across it. This actually feels like a collaboration and represents the movie better with the materials/patterns Also, yes the shoe does glow in the dark
i mean of course youre going to have a little trouble finding the reasonings for the panelings if you havent watched spiderverse, one look at the shoe and one look at the movie you can clearly see how visually similar they are and thats what i really like about it. that brighter red that you were confused about on the leather is a parallel to the more saturated colours used in the movie
I hope y'all keep hating on release day man. The freaky, fractured, glitchy look of a clean and perfect AJ1 in the cleanest colourway is such a sick idea.
You're spot on with the dots - that's the Ben-Day printing technique. Also the bigger dots and the wings logo feature chromatic aberration, which is used extensively throughout the movie. As per the mismatched panels - the dimension hopping in these movies moves so fast that you often have dimensions (and therefore animation medium) changing from frame to frame, sometimes you even have multiple dimensions featured simultaneously within a single frame.
I cant believe I just watched a review about a shoe where Seth knew almost nothing about it. Love your videos but if all I took away was the list of materials I would of read the website description. Thank you to the people in the comments who did a better job explaining them.
Definitely switched my mind about these. I initially hated them when I saw first images of them. And now I’ve changed my mind bc it is a Chicago colorway at the end of the day. While I don’t appreciate the price but I do appreciate the diff materials used and the Spider-Man storyline behind it. Great review by Seth once again 👏

Air Jordan sneakers special edition is seems like a exciting and cool box of inspiring Spider-Man and Michael Jordan old school version details to adding the connections of a new leather coloring and similar to a bright red suit.
Watch the movies, and you'll know why it was set up the way it was. You know a lot of J1 stories in general. Know this one too ESPECIALLY if you're going to spend 700 plus bucks for it LOL. I do agree though, they should've included another set of laces. I'm switching my laces definitely. But when has JB ever listened to us fans? They know we're going to buy them so they don't have to do anything extra. We're their drones.
Honestly I dont like these at all. I don't see the appeal of the shoe. It looks very childish imo. Also they dropped the ball with putting it in a regular Nike shoebox. I've seen them on feet and I still feel the same way. Not my cup of tea.

the rainbow effect reminds me of an actual spider web in the sun light. these being a marvel collab is pretty big imo. the white/ silver glow reminds me yet again of a spider web. best part is these are cheap and im def picking up a pair. people need to learn to not follow the hype train and buy what you actually like. im also buying the union bbs jordan 1's. not only are those sick but they are cheap as hell too. i also picked up the lava glow, volt jordan lows. the lava glow color to me along w the volt is bad ass.

I love it and want it, but for $200 retail + CA tax = $220 and no special box or extra laces or any spiderman branding on the shoe, like the character should be on the insole and a spider on the heel or the toebox to standout
Be careful with the paint on toe area. I guess it peels off easily. One guy bought the sneaker just yesterday and went back to the store for replacement because of the issue, glad it was replaced in abrupt.

I haven't seen the movie and I don't have or want the sneakers. However...I think the shoe is awesome. And think NIKE should have done a themed box...this box is so boring. Also, they should be some Spider-Man branding somewhere 😮
