- ASP currently has 13 points in 13 games playing in the SHL as a 20 year old. He looks absolutely incredible on the ice. He reminds me a bit of a young Erik Karlsson with the way he move and is calm with the puck.
If I had the choice of picking of the D from the 2023 Draft, I would take ASP before Reinbacher, Simashev, Wallinder and Bonk and its not very close.

Many in the Red Wings' organization wanted Axel to play in North America this season, but Yzerman let Alex choose where he wanted to play. Great move by Yzerman to let the kid enjoy another year of hockey in his homeland.

Fr. Only downside right now is he still needs to work on his defensive stick / positioning. I'm so excited for the coming yrs in Det and GR though.
If ASP translates well to NA ice, he may break some records in GR if he's there for a full season.

Do you have any defensive clips of him? Or, does he just skate the puck away from opponents and keep it? Anyways, Holy S*** this kid looks like a steal for Detroit! I was super impressed by his cool in the Juniors (WC) as well. Alas, can't even remember him having to do all that much defending.
I do have some but I wanted to show more of his offensive game. But yeah he looks very good out there, Detroit got a good one at 14
