- #ladderdrills #socceragility Ladder drills are simple and effective ways to train a players agility, coordination and improve lightness on the feet. These drills are designed to be enjoyable for younger players, while offering the same level of improvements to their game.
These 8 drills were completed by a u11 player in the video - but the drills can used from ages U8 and up. For older or more advanced players, be sure to encourage faster movement through the ladder. For beginner players encourage proper technique and the speed will come with time.

@@KSPerformance Ladder excersizes went well. Especially since I always use them during pre-match warm-up.
What I usually do is have them go through the ladder and at the end of the ladder they have to push a sprint of about 5 metres (or yards depending on where you're from). After the sprint they then jog back. When I have about 10 players I usually utilize two ladders, just to keep them easily moving and keep the pace up.
There are a couple of excersizes that I use that weren't in yours and the ones that I didn't yet use I wrote them down and had them do it. So it became a game of "Guess what the next move will be" because my routine is fairly standard to them so, mixing up things was really fun. hardest for them somehow was in/out with both feet. Yet I also let them "Samba" through the ladder and that one goes really well for most of my players.
Samba is when a player stands to the right of the ladder and puts his/her right foot in the ladder first behind the left leg and then moves the left foot next to the next section. Then continues by putting the left foot behind the right leg inside the ladder and move the right leg up a section outside the ladder, then repeat :)
I also remember some players being 'switched off' a bit and really not doing the twist right and instead of twist they were doing 180 circles in one direction. I'm sure it will go better as we'll do more repetitions in the coming weeks.

Thanks! My 10 y/o just joined a local club and I want to help him with his foot work. How many reps each exercise?
Good luck to you and your 10 year old!
For this, 5 quality reps is plenty. And it can be done multiple times a week, ensure enough rest in-between the sessions though!
@@KSPerformance thanks! Yes, I plan on doing this after his practice on Tue and Thur.
