Miss the old days when roger had been so dominate on grass ,the guy won 65 consecutive match on this surface from only 2 tournaments played on grass a scary record like 81 rafa's record on clay but the difference clay is played in so many tournaments, hope to see 100% ready to assault 2021 season

This was actually Paires game (saying as a Fed fan) the crowd was terribly rude in the ending especially with the shot where he had the first break point...they additionally scram out when he even started his first serve on the match point...this unfortunately happens so often in Fed games which may seem like nothing in clear cut games...BUT in games like this it really is very unfair

Abhigyan Kashyap Roger choked (or chokes) more on big stages. Cilic, Verdasco and Paire are probably the top 3 all time. Even if it’s a first round atp 500, they’ll still choke.

I remember having a feeling then that he wasn't going to win the tournament after this match. He didn't look stable and it didn't improve in the following matches. He was an millimetre or so away from not winning this one as well, so I have to admit that I thought he was super lucky to somehow win this one.
I had the same feeling against Tsonga and Bautista Agut last year, but he managed to win the title and nearly won Wimbledon.

We also know Paire’s interesting decision making skills but this is one of the worst. 7:06, he can clearly can hit a forehand off of that fast Roger return. But Paire being Paire, he tries to quickly run around it and hit a half volley backhand up match point in a close match but misses it. He could have easily just sliced the forehand or hit a topspin one, anything would’ve been better than that garbage.
Ok so you clearly dont understand. Federer hit the best return you can possibly hit,really fast in the middle literally on the baseline. And every time after you serve,you immediately make a small movement to the center of the baseline and because the return was so deep and quick,it felt better for Paire to play the ball with his beckhand. ALSO if you didnt notice,Paire literally has one of the best backhands and he runs around the ball to hit one every time. Have a nice day
