  • The Surron Ultra Bee stock 19in wheels limit tire options, hard to get a ggod set of tires that really grip well for serious off road riding. We show you how to fit 21 x 1.6 in front and 18 x 1.85in rear wheels with with some nasty super grippy fat tires for hard enduro use.
    Tires selected:
    Mitas 120/90 18 terraforce double green gummy for the rear
    Mitas 90/90 21 terraforce soft/medium super light single green for the front
    We also have a range of how to videos and other useful information for the Surron Ultra on our website:

    It's criminal that this video only has 4.1k views while there are videos with 100k views of idiots wheeling unregistered Ultra Bee's down busy roads and doing speed tests on sidewalks. This one has been super helpful to me.

    Love your channel!
    If you have bags of money available, I think a rim upgrade would be nice. However, I'm not willing to spend that kind of money on my Ultra Bee which is already an excellent bike. (Plus, I'm a cheap bastard).
    I merely changed the rear tire to a 90/100-19" Motoz Terraraptor for about US$85 installed. It makes a world of difference and doesn't upset the ergos or balance at all, as far as I can tell but fixes the main problem of loss of rear wheel traction on less than perfect terrain.
    I'm so happy with the tire that I'll try to get a Motoz Terraraptor 70/100-19" but I'm not sure if they make them. For the time being the stock front isn't terrible and I solved the main problem. It's worth noting that I'm not a racer. I just ride for fun on mixed mountain terrain. Not trails, just cross country on rocky grassland and coniferous forests.

    Hello, have you noticed a drop in battery life,faster battery consumption, with the 21' and 18' wheels?
    thank you for your videos

    It would be nice to have the other bits that go with the wheels. Then swapping out wheels would be very simple, and you would have the right sprockets for different wheel sizes. I can't seem to find those other parts yet,
    besides sprockets and rotors.

      Yes we tested and ASR still works, but you must place the sensor rings in the same way they came off the stock wheels, blue dots out.

    Great vid mate, will it fit a dunlop mx33 100 90 19 on the stock 19" rim? With a 21" up front. Are the stock rims strong enough or do you suggest swap with some pro brand rims? Cheers

    • @racespecsurron1220
      @racespecsurron1220  Год назад

      Yes a Dunlop mx33 100 90 19 will just fit on the stock rim, not ideal as the rim is narrow, but we managed to get a 110/90 19 on. Yes this would work well with a 21in up front, was terrible with the larger rear and stock front. Stock rims are ok for trail riding but if you ride hard and can afford it do an upgrade.

    That has the torque to run a 120? I'd run a 110.. heck I run a 110 on my 250

    • @racespecsurron1220

      Yeah lots of torque. My normal riding is hard enduro so need every bit of traction I can get. For normal trail and single track a 100/90 would be ok.

  • @Minsekt

    will a 110/100 fit the rear ?

    • @racespecsurron1220
      @racespecsurron1220  Год назад

      yes we have a 120/90 on the rear of our race bike. The 120 is the width and the 90 is the height profile, so a 110/100 has a higher profile but not wider. You will need the 21in up front to balance the bike
