    Sounds killer! Do you suggest this over the JEL-20?

    How's the edge of breakup tone? I love the vintage high mids, but the edge of breakup tends to be splatty & less smooth. Guess I'm trying to find JTM with the volume rolled back, but hot rodded bark with it cranked.

      impossible to answer and I don't have the amp anymore. The IR X will do every tone you want and more. Otherwise demo the drity Shirley or sister for the JTM vibe. To my ears those can get bloaty tho.. Best!

    have you tried this head through a 2x12 cab. i'm considering upgrading from my friedman 2x12 rear ported vertical cab to a friedman 4x12 cab.

      @cragginshred  11 месяцев назад +1

      No but I'm sure it's great. A 4x12 is easier to roll and way bigger sounding.

    Should I consider selling my Pink Taco V1 (with the gain structure switch) for a V2?

      Dave might be able to update it to v2 spec, I’d shoot him an email.

    How is it at lower volume would it work in the bedroom? Would you need an attenuator?

    • @cragginshred
      @cragginshred  9 месяцев назад

      For any bedroom playing a Fractal or similar is the way to go! Any tube amp comes alive with volume and will get thin as you turn it down. Attenuators kill tone period

      @@cragginshred I can't speak to the Pink Taco, but try it before you say this kind of stuff. I have three Friedman amps and all three play very well at even less than bedroom volume. They do not sound thin, they still sound incredible and still have loads of articulation. They are NOT the average tube amp by any stretch of the imagination. And they still sound, play and feel better than any digital amp.

      I don't own a Pink Taco, but my Friedmans (BE50 Deluxe, DS Mini and Twin Sister) DO NOT NEED ATTENUATION AT ALL. And they sound killer and do not sound thin at low volume. They have the best master volumes of any amp I've ever played by far. Technically, the Pink Taco is a "cheaper" Friedman and may be different, but I kinda doubt it.

    This or Your SLO30?

    • @cragginshred
      @cragginshred  Год назад +3

      As raw but more vintage Marshall and more full than the crunch ch on the Slo and more defined in the notes than the gain ch on the Slo 30.

      @@cragginshred I'm thinking of selling my SLO30 and buy a PINK TACO V2. Would You do it? + Is the PT loud enough for in a band situation?

    • @cragginshred
      @cragginshred  Год назад +5

      @@useless7211 Buddy it's insanely loud and punchy. I'm barely at 1/4 mark in the vid and it is pushing the Friedman 4x12 no prob and will hang with the loudest drummer with tons of headroom to spare. It really opens up just above 1/4 on the MV I would take this over the Slo 30 Slo has it's own voice but if your feeling like you want that classic Marshall voicing or that the crunch ch on the Slo is thin this will deliver!

      @@cragginshred Received My Taco yesterday. Found a company in Germany who are selling them for 1800, normally here in Europe (Belgium) they are selling them for 2000 euro. I have only been able to test it at low volume, but I could tell immediately that this is a great amp. Really articulate and punchy. I'm in Hot Rodded Marshall heaven at the moment. 🙂Thanks for the tip!!

      Mic it sounds better than that junk anyway, assuming you have a decent mic for the purpose (like a Shure 57).

    this or the jj junior? i'm having a hard time deciding

    • @kirkmulder1599
      @kirkmulder1599 Месяц назад

      That's a toughish one. The JJ JR has two channels, which is more practical in a gigging situation. But the circuit of the LIttle Sister is Marshall JTM45 based. It has HUGE bass and a more classic tone compared to the JJ JR. The JJ is going to be more JCM800 sounding. I've got a BE50 (JCM800) and a DS Mini (JTM45) and a Twin Sister (JTM45). Just for a frame of reference, I keep the bass on the BE at about 8 or more. I keep the bass on the other amps around 4 or lower and it's still big beautiful tight bass. I LOVE the BE50. I think I LOVE the other two amps EVEN MORE. You can't go wrong with these amps!
