  • Another nice translation of the arcade game to the Colecovision by Atarisoft. Plays well with the controller and somewhat well with the roller controller. Still a favorite of mine to play in the arcade and at home :)

Centipede NEVER gets old. Even the low-fi Atari 2600 version is tons of fun. The ColecoVision version is a beautiful and well-done one!

Would love to try the Colecovision version with the roller controller. Good version. The 5200 version played with the Trak ball is the best home console experience for me.

This is why I like Intarivissions, This was all before my birth. So when I read about a Colecovision or Intellivision, the graphics descriptions look so bad. But the the comparisons happen between consoles, and the stories from you guys and I can see the graphics on screen. It helps me understand why the systems weren't as bad their specs let on to be :) . It helps me place my mind in the time of their release? If that makes any sense.
So thank you for that :) .

What a superb version, the animation and sounds are fantastic.
I've been on a Centipede binge on the Vic-20 lately, besides the official arcade conversion which is great two other games, A country garden and Video vermin are worth a look, both have brilliant graphics and sound effects.

One of my favorites! I just can't figure out if the 5200 or this is my favorite. The rollar controller works fine but not as good as the 5200 of course. Love that I can play with the RC on the Phoenix now! Great video as always Willie!

The 5200 is much much better. The colors are authentic. The centipede is more colorful, and the mushrooms as well. Here the spider does look more like the arcade but that’s it. Above all that, the 5200 sound is arcade perfect. This is a very good version the 5200 version is exemplary.

Remember feeling betrayed by Atari making this for other consoles and making them better for them. LOL Such a fun port, even with the Coleco controller.

This looks like it's a lot more complex than the 2600 version. It would be great if we could get a Colecovision Collection but that might require obtaining a lot of licenses they can't afford to get.

Could there be dust or something in the trackball that's making it slip? (Or is it just normal for those controllers? I never had the colecovision trackball.)

Always found the Colecovision port very nice. En prime example of the fact that the Coleco was home to many great arcade game ports.

It’s a very good port. Can’t hold a candle to the 5200 version though. But it’s very good… atarisoft generally did a very good job though they missed the mark on some - like defender.
