- 85 z28 with 454 video going over some fitment and parts to make the swap work, comment if you want to see any more videos about the build or have questions on what parts work or want to know some of the part numbers I've used to make it happen. some things not mentioned in video is chevelle oil pan was used and car is running speed engineering 3" dual 4th gen exhaust. hope this video can help with some questions you may have
What are the part numbers for the radiator and alternator and powering steering brackets? And there's no way to fit wiper motor?
radiator part number was a cold case radiator #lmp590ak. the accessory mounts are intended billet they are ICB-551493. the wiper motor that is factory on the car will not fit with these valve covers at least. there was a comment lower down in here a guy said there was one that would work but I havnt looked into it because it's not really a concern for me but I'm sure there's probably a motor out there that would fit just fine
Make more videos I want the Same for my car
I will get some more videos in a couple months when spring hits here again. she is tucked away in the garage right now
Do the headers rub when you give it gas and the motor shifts?
no they don't seem to rub anything. when it torques up it shifts to the side with more space so no problems
How do u run a distributor, how do u run power to it and everything
the car had a factory hei distributor and the engine also was a factory hei so it was just a plug and play with the factory wiring and connectors. the only wiring I had to add while doing the swap was for the electric fans, and also the electric choke on the carb. all other wiring was able to be reused from the 305. wiring to the alternator and oil pressure sender needed to be extended but are still factory connections
I had to relocate the brake line it was frying the brake fluid 👍🏻my windshield wiper motor would not work either I heard they make one that will
so far I've just been able to tweak the lines away from the headers a little bit. I may end up having to relocate them at some point but so far they havnt caused issues. I will have to dig into the wiper motor a little bit incase I get stuck in the rain away from home
Do you know what wiper motor will work? I have 85 Z28 and motor from a 92 truck
Plz upload more vids

Im sorry you put a 700r4 behind a big block??
yessir, the plan is to put a 4l80 in its place when it eventually turns into neutral soup lol so far the 700 has been pretty stout though
Did you have to change the oil pans and if so, which oil pan and part number did you go with?
I did have to change the oil pan. I used a pan and oil pump from a '70 chevelle found the pan on summit racing the # is SUM-G3510X for the pan
Did you just rip the ecm out or how did you hook it all up?
this was a carb car to begin with so no ecm to really mess with all electronic controls were able to be carried over from the 305 to the 454 as plug and play the only thing that required wiring in extra was the cooling fans to a dakota digital fan controller
What was the part number for the radiator
it was a cold case Brand radiator pack #lmp590ak.
Where did you get the intake? Mines tBI and I want a carb setup.
the intake is a gmpp intake I got it from the chevy dealer because I work there so I got a good price on it. it is the same casting as the edelbrock performer rpm from what I've seen.
hows ur fuel system ran, did u use stock lines what did u have to do, anything with the fuel pump?
so far it's a prettywell stock system using the mechanical pump that was on the 454. I do plan to upgrade the fuel line to 1/2" all the way back and run an electric pump at some point but for now it's got more than enough to feed the motor as it is
@@damiengibb966 okok cool and what are u running ignition wise
running stock hei distributor right now with accel plugs and 8mm plug wires no issues with ignition cutting out or anything weird as of yet
What car where the headers for?
sorry I just got on now the headers were hooker super comp headers specifically for the 454 3rd gen. I know lemons also makes swap headers and I've heard that some patriot shorty's would fit but I wasn't willing to risk the extra cash with the exchange rate from CAD to USD
HOK-2226HKR this was the part number for the headers I used
