  • Unfortunately i have postponed this for a while because of the lack of time but i should make a "final" comment;
    Yasuni answered as you can read below, they where on holiday, the mailbox was broken ,apology's accepted, the returned mail was friendly and courteous and they bribed my with a T-shirt, i am now a member of the Yasuni owners club ;-)
    Their answer;
    you should only remove the final db-killer, the front pipe is not mend to be removed , if you remove it it will make (a bit) more noise and deliver less horsepower.
    I can confirm that, after driving now for some time i know for sure; it delivers more HP with the pipe in, so the front pipe should be in and keeping it in keeps the noise down to a still acceptable level.
    I still have the rear db killer out and the noise is tolerable and i live in a "quiet neighborhood".
    The replacement of the glass wool/fiber is a disappointment as Yasuni says you will have to take the complete exhaust apart and they warn that it is a job which effectively can only be done at the factory.
    Practically seen this means that if en when the fiberglass is gone you can chuck the exhaust in the scrap container because sending it back to the factory and such is not a cost worthy solution, that is really a pity and imho not a solution worthy of a "world brand" like Yasuni.
    Remains to be seen how long it will last, perhaps the glass wool/fiber will outlast the exhaust, i have no idea, yesterday i took it of to replace a rear tire and it still looked like new on the inside...
    1 tip for removal: copper paste/grease on the joint between front pipe and muffler will not last, it will just burn away and removal will be troublesome (so much for the 1000 degree Celsius "guarantee" from DowCorning/Molykote).
    What will help is ceramic based anti seize, it will still burn away but will leave a light powder like residue which will ease removal of the muffler from the front pipe.
    So several months later: would i still buy it again? YES
    Below my first initial comment:
    ****************************************************************************************
    A vid on my latest purchase, a Yasuni TUB-650 for my Honda SH150i of 2006.
    Some info on the DB-killer(s) inside,the performance, a small ride to let you hear how it sounds while driving, little problems and disappointments and more.
    Major disappointment for me is the fact that i have unanswered questions about the use of the two db-killers , how to open the exhaust if the damping material needs changing (which it will at some point in time) and Yasuni won't respond to emails or webforms i wrote them, a bit of a let down on a great product, i expected more of a brand that is into GP racing and such ;-(

    I dont wait in particular for the light to go of but usually it is of when i start, i never noticed bad behaviour but the idea is interesting enough to investigate....

    To clarify more; apparently the 1/4 mark is the set temperature of the coolant thermostat (74 C degrees) ,as long as ambient temperature is lower then 25-30 Celsius the cooling system can keep up with the heat output of the engine and the needle will stay at the 1/4 (74 C degrees) mark.
    Above 25-30 C the cooling system looses the battle and coolant temperature goes up from the 1/4 mark, of course this all depends also on driving style and isn't as bad as it sounds.
    It has to get quite hot before a stock SH overheats meaning you will have to stop and let it cool of and fill up the coolant the SH has been a top seller in Thailand were it can be blistering hot and humid.
    The engine is really bullet proof and can take a lot of abuse provided you will feed it the necessary oil and spare parts.

    Yes, that is my normal temperature in Holland, mind you; going to France mid summer it will get higher to aprox 3/4 scale

    You wont regret buying it, Yasuni claims 1 HP gain and i asume that is with both db-killers in.
    Still had no answer from yasuni....

    hello i was just wanting to ask about the temperature gauge on the video of you riding the gauge stays at 1/4 mark does it always stay at that temp while normal riding as my sh125i 2006 does that it stays at the 1/4 mark all the time and stays there consistently unless sat idling for a long time.

    When you start your bike, do you instantly start the engine after turning the key? as i see the fuel injection red "FI" light in the middle of your dash, same as on mine, you should wait for that light to go out before starting the engine or it will hate you for it, mine splutters and coughs if i dont wait so i always do.
