The Gunk can be preheated by the sour gas and the cooling pipes should be made out of aluminum or cobalt as they have higher thermal conductivity. This would also save on the need to make that much steel. Steel is better used in conductive gas pipes as it has the highest thermal conductivity outside of space metals.
10:35 Careful, volcano tamers like this occasionally end up with packets less than 1 gram in the loop. These packets don't transfer heat, so the thermo sensor will always shunt it back in to the chiller loop and eventually clog the conveyor loop to the point where no iron can get out. I like using conveyor meters for this, which allows me to use the chiller to operate over the entire run time of the volcano.
I was gonna say you could pipe the sour gas into that solid methane gassification chamber to pre-chill the sour gas, but I'm guessing you want the aquatuner to have to work hard enough to generate the kind of heat required to make the gunk transition.
7:00 You can fix this by putting a liquid shutoff before the liquid valve. Connect an atmo sensor in the hot room to the liquid shutoff to only allow gunk to come in if the air pressure is ok.
You also might want to keep an eye on the autosweepers in the cold room. Since all the gas is freezing, there's nowhere for the sweepers to offload their temperature and they might eventually overheat. This can be remedied with conduction panels which work in a vacuum. Hint: The thermal conductivity is especially important with conduction panels.
Great progress! I noticed you gunk boiler is slurping up 1300g/s and a gas pump can displace 500g/s You need three of em to keep up and avoid liquid vent overpressure in the sourgas chamber at that rate.
Small opinations of the system before 5:00. 6 tile wide methane room needs some temp shift plates made out of almost anything. In the next room temp shift plates but also just let the original input go round and round, that way it does not need an auto-sweeper. Instead of using the gas pump of the sour gas room, use a three door system powerless pusher. Would add some liquid to where you are checking the temp of things, will just better get the temp you want.
Generally I don't like to work with Sour Gas, not much uses except to convert it into Methane/Natural Gas. I rather store everything as Petroleum, since there are more uses for the liquid.

for any builds that have solids on a rail to distrubute temperature, you should use a rail temp sensor and rail shut off to detect if the debris is the temp you want before removing it instead of having it drop on the ground and be picked up again, would probably save power for builds in the long run with the auto sweeper thing you're doing right now
it is fascinating that the new slime based oil is better at producing algae than the algae distiller. one may be able to get better efficiency with the pacu and puft synergy.

I csn see a use for the remote dupes. If your just keeping your dupes trap on the base. And they do all task remotely. And zero access once it's built up. So said dupe is always spoiled.

I don't know why but seeing pipes in an aquatuner room really makes me sick. The coolant in the pipes soaks up a lot of the heat from the steam. I put the pipes and bridges in the tiles around the room and the only pipes that touch the steam are at the temperature sensor and aquatuner input and output. Unless you are using late game materials.
I think you need to take 10kg out of that cooling loop for the sour gas. When it bypasses the aquatuner it stalls.

Without Turbine setup, Liquid Tepidizer is great for Phyto Oil and Raw Egg.
