To put that into perspective, when I was little (around the age of 4 or 5) My mom’s best friend, had a husband, who worked on cars, and he would always let me come hold tools. The only car company that somehow survives by its own would be Pagani and Koenigsegg apparently even then Pagani needs AMG Help for the engines and Koenigsegg needs Ford help for the engines as well before they completely made their own engines

Fun fact: Bentley was using block of supercharged 6.75 litre engine until early 2020. It was just that good. And its latest version was put in new Mulsan. Over 1000Nm of torque in luxury sedan. But you know what's even better? Rotating central console display. You want fancy infotainment system with huge ass screen to use? We've got you covered. You want 3 gauges with chrome, wood, gold and everything that screems luxury and elegance? Press the button and watch huge screen disapear. You want to look at your beautiful dashboard with lines of chrome and wood uninterrupted by some gauges or screens? Press the button again and enjoy clean and elegant line of wood.

They didn't just use Bentley's pistons in WW1, they used his engine, the BR1.
3 years after Rolls bought Bentley, W. O. went to work for Lagonda.
Continental GT aged so gracefully. The older it gets the more strangely elegant and attractive it looks. More modern Bentleys start getting a little gaudy, but they really struck gold with Continental. It is extravagant, but understated. Continental is one of the few cars in the world that is a headturner, but at the same time can totally blend in and not be loud.
It clearly took inspiration from much older designs, but no part of it looks dated. I honestly think it is timeless. It will look just as beautiful in 50 years, and that includes interior. I think they knew exactly what they were doing, keeping so much instrumentation analog. It's full of nice somewhat retro materials, without being over the top kitschy.

It's cool that coach building is still a thing. Worked for a company once that was a licensed coach builder for a few car companies. We mostly did vans but I remember doing a couple Rolls Royce's. The attention to detail was ridiculous. I had to spend a weekend studying books detailing the electronics to get everything exact. When I couldn't find any pre-delivery faults I was actually yelled at by a colleague who insisted that there are always faults no matter what. I learned If you're building a Rolls Royce there is no such thing as perfect, I got the job because I was ex Air Force and attention to detail down to the molecule is our thing. I even ordered special wiring that can handle millions of bends.

bently went from a luxury car to being a some what of a race car
I test drove a Flying Spur a few weeks ago for a little over a half an hour. That replaced the Aston Martin as my dream car. I hit the gas quickly and it didn't even lurch forward. The car gently speeds up quickly and comfortably. It feels like you're flying in a jet plane without turbulence. The seats are like custom leather chairs taken from a luxury home. The car is perfection in every way.
Aston Martin has a good like the dbs is gorgeous even though both of the companies r stunnig & their work is out of this world

Yeh. I have a continental gt. It’s heavy and badass looking...but standby for the suspension issues. Thankfully older models are easier to come by and as a do it yourself person, I only take mine to the shop for things electrical

Forgot to mention one little fact about one of the early LeMans wins. During the post-race celebrations, W.O.Bentley bet one of the winning drivers his entire race winnings that he couldn't beat him back to the factory on the train.
The driver drove through the night (whilst incredibly drunk and tired) and beat W.O who took the train. W.O doubled his wages as promised...

When I was around 8 I thought Bentley was a part of Rolls Royce. And I thought they didn’t make race cars, just luxury cars and jet engines.
Actually Rolls Royce doesn't make only luxury cars and airplane engines , they started by making engines for speedboats and even some Yacht's . A brand that actually started by making airplane engines was Saab and then they did a step into cars and trucks and that's how we got Scania
Bentley use to be owned by Rolls Royce but they got a divorce with Bentley going to VW and Rolls-Royce going to BMW. If you look at some of the older Bentleys you will see that their grill was very similar to the Rolls-Royce grill.
