Costco. I purchased Jabra Enhance Pro 30 from Costco. I was not happy as the hands free feature to answer calls was not working. Costco staff was not believing me. After 10 months of purchase, I finally gave up and insisted HA specialist to send it to the factory to investigate. Factory changed all the parts and now it’s working fine. So Costco staff should not be protective of the company and trust the customer. I suffered for 10 month! After watching your video, I am planning to go for Philips 9050 Costco hearing aid whenever they make it available. Thanks for the information.
I got my Phillips 9050s at Costco Today. 10/12/24. My first pair ever. Wow. These are life changing. Work great with my phone. Work great in my truck while connected to my truck through Android Auto. Work great listening to youtube or other things on my phone. Wow. These things are great. Did I say they were great? I cannot wait to try them at conferences where a speaker gives presentations in a auditorium environment.
Really glad to see a lot of VA in the comments. Got my hearing aids at the VA also. (Phonak lumity) Won't be getting new aids for a few years. Just like like to stay updated an informed. Thanks you for all your videos.
I purchased the Jabra Enhance Pro 20's at Costco back in January. Having issues from the start with the left aid. Wishing for a quicker solution. I am subscribed so will be waiting for you to bring us more developments. Thanks Matthew!
1st time hearing time user. Retired Electronic Engineer and studying different RUclipsrs like yourself prior to purchase. Like the Costco prices since I have no insurance for hearing.
My insurance sent me a list of practices and the amount I got off of certain HA brands. Costco was still cheaper and included more. Just like my insurance for glasses. Costco was cheaper even though they don’t take insurance.
Just got my Phillips 9050 hearing aids. They are great. I have had some really cheap hearing amplifiers that do help me hear but they pick so much other outside noise that they can be frustrating whenever you have a lot of other outside sounds. The 9050's are perfect for me. I love how well they work with my iPhone for both listening to RUclips and Podcasts, music, and phone calls seamlessly. Phillips was also including a TV link box ($190.00) which is nothing short of amazing. Even though I can hear the TV with just the hearing aids the TV link can be raised to whatever volume I want without raising the TV volume. The sound is crystal clear. I couldn't be happier with these hearing aids.
Stick with it. I can tell you from personal experience that you can’t adjust to them when they’re sitting in the charger. The more you use them the better you will be able to recognize what (if any) adjustments might benefit you.
1st set of Starkey Evolv 1600 from an audiologist. I purchased a second set of Philips 9040 at Costco which I truly love for a fraction of the price of the Strarkey's and the performance is 10 times better.
I have Phonaks from a private company that were replaced under warrantee, so basically new! And, I went to Costco today since my insurance covers new aids every 3 years. I had the best, most complete hearing exam ever. Afterwards, the technician said that Costco would soon be coming out with the 9050 model from Philips. She will call me when they arrive and I will upgrade to them!
I bought my Phillips HearLink 9040s at COSTCO (where else 😊) about six weeks ago, with 312 batteries. I’m happy with them although the aurocast feature is something I want sooner or later.
I bought Jabra Enhanced Pro 20 at Costco in January. I'm hoping that the Hearlink 9050 will be out before my 180 days are up. I tried both the Phillips and Jabra at the manufacturer defaults in the store and the Phillips sounded a little better to my ears but the audio specialist recommended the Jabras, In part due to the app. Well, the app has been updated!
I just purchased the new Phillips 9050 HA set from Costco. As I have a new Unplugged phone, Unplugged does not offer the Hear Link 2 app at this time. Unplugged phones have their own version of Android that doesn't use Google Play to provide their apps. I am working with Unplugged to get the Hear Link 2 app for my new aids. So far, I am still getting used to working these buttons as sometimes I end up turning off the particular HA (Right or Left) that I am working the buttons.
I bought the Jabra Select Enhance 500 aids a couple of weeks ago. They were so strident and sharp and could not be adjusted to be pleasing to my ears. I sent them back. This week I went to Costco for a hearing test and was able to "test drive" the new(ish) Rexton and Phillips 9050 hearing aids. I found the sound quality of the Phillips 9050 was almost identical to the Jabra aids. In fact, initially, after they were calibrated for my hearing profile, they had a substantial amount of white noise hissing though. The audiologist made some adjustments that brought the noise down but never disappeared. However, the Rexton hearing aids were perfect on the first try and I elected to go with them. Overall, I found the Rexton frequency spectrum much more pleasing and natural.
I have had the Philips 9040s, from Costco, for about 5 weeks. I generally like the hearing aids, but the connectivity to my iPhone is hit and miss. Any idea as to when the 9050s will hit Costco? I assume the 9050s would be better from a connectivity standpoint.

I had a hearing test done at Costco on 12 Jul 2024. This was my first time wearing an HA. I tried on the Philips 9040 and was amazed at how clear the sounds were. I'm waiting on the 9050s before I will purchase. The guys at the hearing center at Costco didn't know when they would be out.
I just placed an order for the 9040 today, but when I got home, I saw the news about the 9050. However, by the time it's imported to Taiwan, it might already be eight months after its release. I might consider switching in a few years!
My fitter at Costco told me that Costco's policy doesn't allow them to install the tinnitus program. I'm updating to Phillips 9050 from my 8 yr old Phonak Ventures. My question: Can the tinnitus program be installed on Costco purchased Phillips 9050's from an independant provider, OR are they proprietized for Costco to the extent that the tinnitus program cannot be installed by anyone ? I would generally prefer to use an independant practice, but so far, our local Costco hearing aid dept has been more complete and thorough than any local practice I've yet encountered. I have severe tinnitus and not being able to get the tinnitus program installed may be a non-starter for me, but I'll wait and try them out for a while as the value can't be beat. Thanks for any information you may have as my local Costco couldn't answer this question.
Important though....Samsung S24 Ultra, doesn't interface to Jabra Enhance 20 well - only uses the phone mic during calls. Have to go into phone to pair them before removing from case EVERY TIME!
Hey Corvin, you're more than welcome. They're only replaceable by being sent back to Demant, rather than in clinic unlike their previous tech. It's a bit of a bore IMO! Matthew
Hi Dr. Could you inform if it’s possible to get an analogic há to music listening ? They are superior to music than all digitals. It’s a shame that nobody produces a really modern analogic to this specific function.
A: Costco; Philips 9040s with batteries, about 6 weeks ago. If the 9050s make it out before the trial ends, I'd definitely consider switching, but concerned about having to go rechargeable. I hate the thought of having to carry along a bulky charger when I travel.
The international specifications will be completed in 2027. Currently no hearing aid can receive Auracast. No Auracast transmitter has been built. So today, use a telecoil to connect to thousands of venues/institutions/organizations in an infrastructure that already exists.
It will likely be 3+years. Even Ampetronic, a MFR of hearing loop systems and working on bringing an Auracast transmitter to market - states: "Where practical to install a loop system that should still be considered as a primary choice for accessibility now, little has changed since hearing loops and telecoils were the preferred technology of choice by 86% of hearing aid users (reference on Ampetronic website). Part of this is also ease of access, in many cases accessing a loop is as simple as seeing the recognised signage and pressing a button or switch on the hearing aid. There is only one channel of audio available, and there’s no doubt that the audio you’re connecting to is trustworthy. For all these reasons it’s imperative that these technologies co-exist for many years to come. Short answer: Consumers need both telecoils and Bluetooth in their hearing aids.
What about all of us who just ordered our 9040s not knowing a new model was on the way? Do I just turn it back in as soon as it comes in and order the 9050? I was a HE newbie a few weeks ago. My spouse tried out a number of hearing aids before buying his Resound and told me to do the same but I can’t help but see this as returning a Costco item like a real Christmas tree.
Good video Matthew! Wish they would allow the client some ability to program certain frequencies away from the audiologist office. Programming inside an office building is far from the noises outside in the real world !! I think I read in some countries the audiologist come to your home to do programming. I have the Resound Nexia and it's only one button. With no rocker switch it makes a user more dependent on the phone app. I'm going on like two months now with Nexia and am still having a hard time adjusting from my older style CIC style. I'm not sure if REM's would help even those she matched up the frequencies from my previous ones on screen the best she could.
I currently have Costco KS9, but it's getting time to replace at 4 years. Waiting to hear a comparison with the HearLink 50 versus Jabra 20 for someone with profound ski slope loss.
I bought Resound from Costco 5.5 + years ago, and bought Jabra Enhance Pro a year ago, but returned them just short of 6 months. In retrospect, I think an auto adjustment feature couldn't make up its mind what the optimum setting should be, and the fitter did not pursue that possibility. When I returned the Jabras, the fitter said if wanted to try Jabra again in the future, to make appointments with the senior HA specialist. Meantime, my Resound HAs need help, and Widex & Jabra online hearing tests indicate my hearing can be improved to GOOD (what else would they say?). I am wondering whether I should wait until Costco has Philips HearLink 9050 HAs available. BTW, I have just subscribed (should have done it 2 months ago).
Hey Donald, thanks for taking the time to share your experiences! Glad to hear that you’re onboard! I promise to keep the content flowing and if there’s anything that you want me to cover just let me know. Matthew
Hi. I'm using disposable batteries in my Costco KS9's because rechargeable were not available. These need to be replaced about every 3 days. I'd prefer rechargeable aids; however I need to have them last all day under pretty high Bluetooth usage.
"May the best technology win" is the only way to address the challenge of trying to hear clearly in places of public accommodation. The only catch for any solution that might replace consumer-preferred hearing loop systems is that, once again, facility operators will be charged with investing in an "accommodation" without reimbursement and, sadly, most of them are unaware or not convinced that they need to do it. While ramps and curb-cuts for those with wheelchairs, walkers and strollers are very popular and available to all, assistive technology for hearing loss (an invisible disability) is hard to come by. In spite of ADA requirements for "effective communications" the majority of owners/operators of public spaces in the U.S. are not in compliance with our ADA. It will be interesting to see how often "Auracast transmitters" are installed in public spaces, and whether or not the new system will qualify as a solution for ADA compliance. Until then, any and all efforts to raise awareness of the critical need for assistive hearing technology to boost audio clarity and comprehension in public spaces is VERY WELCOME!
I've got a specksavers Advance in the canal battery operated one.. I'm desperate for one with any features atall to help with my extremely high pitched Tinnitus!
I bought my hearing aids at Costco. Last bought the KS 9 hearing aid from them. Great hearing aids. needed a replacement aid for 1 ear due to dog chewing & then face mask pulling it out unbeknownst to me at the time. No replacent warranty left. Bought the Phillips set Costco carries in Spring 2023. Just did not work properly and horrible compared to KS9. Took them back after 6 months. Wish Costco hadn't burnt their bridges with Phonak. Am now wearing just 1 hearing aid from the KS9 set.
Costco the Phillips 9040 rechargeable 5 weeks ago. I can exchange for the newer 9050 which may work better with my Android. I have about 4.5 month left to return mine I think? Is the 9050 more compatible with a Samsung Galaxy S20?
I have had both disposable battery and rechargeable and prefer the disposable as it was a once a week change . Also they are a bit smaller in size. I hope Philips comes out with a disposable battery version.
Are any of the manufacturers working on removing feedback and allowing wearing of their aids to bed? Would be nice to those of us without partners to wake us up at a specific time.
I have a Philips 9050 hearing aid Bluetoothed to my Samsung Galaxy G21 Android phone. I am told by my Costco hearing tech that the 9050 can not answer or close phone calls by tap or button push with Android cellphones. In addition the 9050 microphone also is not active with Android phones. However these features are operational with iPhones. Apparently the iPhone patent for these features has expired, so Android cellphones could program these features in their smartphones to allow hands free operation and communication with the 9050 Philips units. Could you lobby Samsung & Hearlink to create an updated app or phone to parallel the use of the 9050 Philips hearing aids in a manner similar to the iPhone? Please let us know when there is an Android or Hearlink update to permit these features as they function in the iPhone: double tap to answer and end mobile phone calls, and an active hearing aid mike to allow voice communication with cellphone not in one's hand near one's mouth. Thank you.
I bought Jabra earbuds last September from Costco. The pro 20 model I think. Whatever was the best they offered, price not withstanding . I had them custom fit to my ears. I'm not too happy with them. The occlusion is always there and loud. If I turn down the volume to avoid the occlusion, I can't hear the speech of the person I'm conversing with. If i put them on the setting for noisy places and happen to walk outside on a windy day, it sounds as if someone is popping popcorn in my ears. Perhaps it's just my level of loss which tested 'profound'. Anyway, I have decided to go back and purchase a behind-the-ear style instead of the earbuds. Even though I detest the behind-the-ear type. Again, price no issue, I just want to hear better.
I use HA with disposable batteries because I have a severe hearing loss and stream several hours a day. My HIS did not think that rechargeable batteries would make it through the day.
The lack of a disposable battery is a non starter for me. I do a lot of steaming and I am afraid the rechargeable will not make it though the day. I find it much easier to just change a battery every 4 days than to worry about a charger every day.
@billhennie they are not perfect, but better than my last hearing aids. I took them in for adjustments and they fixed some feedback I was having. I would recommend them
Thanks for nice preview! Tried Jabra Enhanced Pro 20s Costco, returned (bluetooth instabilities, streaming quality) so looking forward to trying 9050; but, really disliked rechargeable aspect of the Jabra (having to keep track of charger, get aids to them every night, etc) and am wary of the battery-replacement timeline/cost, so I really hope the 9050 get a replaceable version

@@doctormarc4709 thanks for the detailed reply...I have given up on Samsung foldables a few years back. They are way behind the competition. The double tap is a nice feature especially on the golf course or if you're not able to get to your phone my old Phonaks had that feature
I have a hearing aid in my glasses arms. Unfortunately, the batteries are dead, the dutch company has disappeared do you know of anyone else in this market
Oticon More 1 - Independent audiologist - Rechargeable BUT... the More battery can be replaced by the audiologist. I'm watching the Intent, whose battery can NOT be replaced by the audiologist. That and the single button (vs rocker) are near deal-breakers.
@@davidli1331do you like them? What did you have prior? I got the Jabra's and not sure i will keep them. They use some kind of AI directionality that causes shifting sounds as the AI tries to guess what you sould and should not be hearing, but seems to get it wrong mostly. Causes sounds to shift and cut in and out in volume. Also they have horrible wind noise where even have my car AC on low causes lots of wind noise. BT is also wonky and app disconnects at times.

Matthew
9050 is out now
Hi. I'm using disposable batteries in my Costco KS9's because rechargeable were not available. These need to be replaced about every 3 days. I'd prefer rechargeable aids; however I need to have them last all day under pretty high Bluetooth usage.
I got my Philips 9050 from Costco in Canada 2 days ago.
Hey Sylvie, have you seen my best tinnitus hearing aids 2024 video? ruclips.net/video/n9pWZZyBPrc/видео.html
It would be really helpful to clarify the UK market availability when talking about various aids.
hey atopdesigner! Roger that, I'm based in London so I'll make sure I do that going forwards. Matthew
I have had both disposable battery and rechargeable and prefer the disposable as it was a once a week change . Also they are a bit smaller in size. I hope Philips comes out with a disposable battery version.
Oticons were purchased from an independent audiology group, Nashville, TN
Hey Matt. Any thoughts on the new Rexton Reach? I am guessing Costco will eventually offer the Reach. Thank you sir!
I bought my Phillips 9040 from Costco about a month and a half ago.
Thanks Loren 😊 Matthew
You should be able to return them within 180 days ...
Are any of the manufacturers working on removing feedback and allowing wearing of their aids to bed? Would be nice to those of us without partners to wake us up at a specific time.
Hi David, a vibrating apple watch or wrist band would do the trick perfectly to wake you up! Matthew
Is Phonak the only HA that connects to two iOS devices at the same time?
Can you double tap these hearing aids to answer on an Android cell phone?
How much thick is the 9050 than the Jabra Enhance Pro 20?
Thank you.
Does Demant design the Oticon brand with more technology than Demant puts in the Philips brand?
Veterans Affairs (VA) provided the Phonak Audeo L90
Lots from the VA on here! Matthew
Just bought at Costco, I should have then in a week or two!
How have you liked the new 9050?
@billhennie they are not perfect, but better than my last hearing aids. I took them in for adjustments and they fixed some feedback I was having. I would recommend them
Thanks for nice preview! Tried Jabra Enhanced Pro 20s Costco, returned (bluetooth instabilities, streaming quality) so looking forward to trying 9050; but, really disliked rechargeable aspect of the Jabra (having to keep track of charger, get aids to them every night, etc) and am wary of the battery-replacement timeline/cost, so I really hope the 9050 get a replaceable version
Got my HearLink 9040s at Costco!
I use OTICONs with an Earmold.

@@doctormarc4709 thanks for the detailed reply...I have given up on Samsung foldables a few years back. They are way behind the competition. The double tap is a nice feature especially on the golf course or if you're not able to get to your phone my old Phonaks had that feature
I believe that for hearing aids to meet the IP68 waterproof standard manufacturers had to go to a rechargeable battery that doesn't open up.
Purchased at independent audiology practice.
I have a hearing aid in my glasses arms. Unfortunately, the batteries are dead, the dutch company has disappeared do you know of anyone else in this market
Costco - getting these on 8/9/2024
Amazon! 250! 😄 (I just wanted to dip my toe in the water before spending 15 times more. 😧 And they actually work!)
If you find a decent audiologist they'll let you trial and demo them before committing! Good luck, Matthew
I assume you are referencing the 9040s and that you bought them on Amazon for $250?
Purchased the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 from Costco in February, 2024
Thanks for sharing Stuart! Matthew

Purchased Costco KS10
Costco, Jabra Enhance Pro 20. Thinking of returning them.
I bought my Philips 9040 hearing aids from Costco.
Thanks Azskip! Matthew
Out August 28th
Thanks for sharing. Matthew
I prefer disposable battery hearing aids because I don't want to be without them when the power goes off. This can happen for several days at a time.
I bought mine at Costco.
Oticon More 1 - Independent audiologist - Rechargeable BUT... the More battery can be replaced by the audiologist. I'm watching the Intent, whose battery can NOT be replaced by the audiologist. That and the single button (vs rocker) are near deal-breakers.
Hey RB, I agree personally! Matthew
Veterans Affairs (VA)
Great Benjamin, thank you for letting the YT audience know. Matthew
I bought the 9040 from Costco
Four months later.... still no 9050.
They are losing so many customers to Jabra and Rexton with this delay, like me.
just get the 9040's like I did, at least they are smaller
@@davidli1331do you like them? What did you have prior? I got the Jabra's and not sure i will keep them. They use some kind of AI directionality that causes shifting sounds as the AI tries to guess what you sould and should not be hearing, but seems to get it wrong mostly. Causes sounds to shift and cut in and out in volume. Also they have horrible wind noise where even have my car AC on low causes lots of wind noise. BT is also wonky and app disconnects at times.
A Costco recently. Audiologist in past
Disposable batteries only. Tried the rechargeable one and detested it.
Costco, Phonak KS9, 2019
