Hi Rick, thank you for your response. I just gave my behind the wheel test and the examiner asked me to park next to curb in the bike lane and to mention there was no other lane or space except that. Hi, suppose there is a car parked at the curb and I parked in front of that car and backing to be right in front of that car. How do I judge the space between my car and the other car. Whenever I do this I feel so scared that I am going to hit that car. But when I park and come outside and see , theere is lot of gap. How do I judge the gap. i dont get it... in america you are allowed to drive before the driving test? alone? cause in europe you can only drive with your driving instructor inside a car which is specially modified so the passenger seat got pedals too so in case you do something very wrong your instructor can brake for you instead, but you are not allowed to drive without a driver instructor next to you inside the car, so can you explain this to me?
norby n In America we can't drive without license. We can drive with driving permit but with someone with drivers license should drive with you. We can only drive alone once we get driver's license.
A person with a learner's permit cannot drive by themselves legally. You must have a license to drive alone. When learning, people are often taught by licensed instructors or parents/friends with licenses. Driving schools tend to have cars with two break pedals; one for the driver and one for the instructor.
In the united states, it is illegal to drive without a license or permit, if you have a learners in the US you do need someone that is a legal adult sitting next to you and yes you can drive before getting your full license. In Canada, all drivers must pass a knowledge test which is your class 7 license, ones that is received you may drive with a legal adult that has a full license. After one year of experience and your 16 you may get a class 5 GDL license with restrictions and after obtaining that for two year you may get get the full class 5 license to drive a car or truck alone not a semi. - I hope this helps with your question please feel free to reply if you have further questions
Teachers always encourage students to ask questions because of this very reason. If one person has a question, often there are others with the same question. And often a number of students have the same question because the instructor/teacher overlooked something, omitted something, or didn't explain something well. So ask questions, we're always happy to help. All the best, Cheers Rick
Dany: thank you so much from bottom of my hart , I am keep watching all of your videos, it help me pass G1, G2 and G and over come my fear of driving that I used to believe before that is impossible for me to drive, even after I pass all of my road tests, I always keep watching for 20 minutes every day, so I am still remembering all of your good tips, to drive safe , smart and confident, thank , it a big help for single mom with two kids like me, hope you keep making videos , and continue smiling.
Thank You Rick and I appreciate the valuable information on Curb Parking. I just have a question regarding reference points for curb parking and straight line backing? 🤔 My instructor stated to me that I need to look for somewhat of a “T” between the curb and the windshield wiper in order to line up properly to the curb. Do you have any other advice regarding other reference points that would help me achieve being 6-9 inches from the curb? Thanks Again!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Kyle Simpkins - Apologies for the late response. Thank you for your comment. There are a couple of videos I would suggest: ruclips.net/video/dJpMKkwEhxI/видео.html Be sure to do the 2X4 exercise in that video - that will help with the curb parking and the overall driving skills. And you saw the blind areas around your vehicle - that is paramount to understanding the challenges with curb parking. And as I stated, park behind other vehicles, or use any available landmarks to line up the vehicle. The more techniques and tools you have, the easier you'll find curb parking. If there is anything further we can do, drop us a note. Always happy to help. All the best, Cheers Rick

i dont get it... in america you are allowed to drive before the driving test? alone? cause in europe you can only drive with your driving instructor inside a car which is specially modified so the passenger seat got pedals too so in case you do something very wrong your instructor can brake for you instead, but you are not allowed to drive without a driver instructor next to you inside the car, so can you explain this to me?
norby n
In America we can't drive without license. We can drive with driving permit but with someone with drivers license should drive with you. We can only drive alone once we get driver's license.
norby n in America u can drive whenever as long as u don’t get caught
Thank you so much!
Hi Big$MoneyBoss - you are most welcome! Cheers Rick
I thought I was the only one who needed this until I heard you calling names :)

Thank You Rick and I appreciate the valuable information on Curb Parking. I just have a question regarding reference points for curb parking and straight line backing? 🤔
My instructor stated to me that I need to look for somewhat of a “T” between the curb and the windshield wiper in order to line up properly to the curb.
